  1. I was seriously considering going, but the cheap room blocks are all gone. It's a bunch more expensive now.. Boo..
  2. Anyone going to this event? Looks like virt will be there doing a talk on FM Synthesis. I'm thinking of going since a horror convention I attend occasionally will be in Cleveland the same weekend. I've always wanted to check one of these out, but they tend to be in places like Finland and Sweden.. http://www.demoparty.us/index.shtml Actually reading a bit more, this seems like a smaller gathering at something called Notacon. http://www.notacon.org/
  3. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6U_kfuvnMeg (Not Rickroll..)
  4. Vipzone has a remix contest every month or so in which you have a chance to win your remix on the original album, or some sample packs. This month, the original tune is terrible.. Vipzone contest: http://vipzone-samples.com/remixcontests.php http://www.myspace.com/Radamesonline Internet Baby. Look at that guy, listen to that song and try not to puke. Vipzone has a link to the original vocals that you can use to make your own remix of this "song". I'm working on a totally different style, just to see if I can make it bearable. So far it's pretty dry, but I want to go for a minimal style overall. http://www.box.net/shared/or54mnpc0w - My idea/barebones.. Join in the badness!
  5. Holy shit! Email: "Hayden! Congrats! You've won the BTA/Sally Shapiro contest! You'll be on the guestlist at the show, + 1. So bring a friend! If by chance you can't make it, please let me know ASAP so we can redraw the winner." Awesome!
  6. For sure.. Actually I just found a video game remix that Johan Agebjorn (the writer behind Sally Shapiro) did. Crazy! 6 Degrees of seperation stuff.. Almost..
  7. Sally Shapiro of Sweden will be DJing along with some others at Wrongbar in Toronto on the 4th of March (Tuesday). All kinds of Italo and Synthpop will be played along with exclusive remixes of her stuff. Personally I've been looking for an event like this for ages. Love that cheezy oldschool electronic dance stuff. If you're a fan in town (though the chances are slim) I'd suggest you check it out. Facebook event. Sally Shapiro's Myspace. I suggest you check out "I Know" (on MySpace), or "Spacer Woman from Mars" (on the official site linked above) for some examples of their stuff.
  8. Hah thanks.. I'll have something release worthy in a week or two.. Ideally done by then but we'll see..
  9. That's a good idea, I'd like to. Although on all the profiles of him I can't seem to find an email address or anything to contact him through, save the comments on his blog.. Any hints?
  10. Well I didn't say it was the intro, thats just something you're assuming. I'll make it work
  11. Thanks man.. I have another seemingly unrelated clip.. It's pretty badly mixed but gives you another angle on my mix.. http://www.box.net/shared/b6zomz08w4
  12. Hopefully this doesn't get hijacked into the WIP section, but heres a brief concept clip of what I've got so far. *Spoiler alert* http://www.box.net/shared/t4zjm20co0
  13. Awesome, thanks guys. It doesn't get much more descriptive than a video of the action. 1 more question though, why is it called Sarah's Song? Is she a character in the game or did the composer just happen to name it this?
  14. I'll try throwing something together..
  15. I'm currently remixing this song after reading a request here and checking out the soundtrack. I haven't played this game in years and just wanted a little history on when this song is played, whats on the screen and other bits of the story would be helpful. Any information would be helpful, thanks..
  16. There's not much to "Sarah's Song", as in hardly any main melody lines. Someone could get pretty imaginative with this one and really take it to the next level.
  17. Not sure if I've heard ~120bpm trance before. Sure you didn't just leave the default setting when writing this tune? Pump it up to at least 132..
  18. I'm sure you don't need the help, but I live about 20 mins away from the broadcast station and would get involved if you ever needed some extra hands/ears. I think it's a cool idea and would love to hear VG tunes get some love in Toronto.
  19. Here's my online dating intro "I make electronic music for fun, not trying to make a career out of it cuz y'all mofuckers steal shit and think you deserve to own our music for free, so fuck you bitch.." I get no hits..
  20. Like the dirty bassyness at the beginning.. Sidechained hard which is cool.. I'd put some wicked sidechain superstrings on it.. Portasynth intermission, but here I go again.. Nice hard sounds overall tho dude, good stuff..
  21. Still here, still beer.. No comments as usual though, heh..
  22. This is still in the early stages so its pretty dry as far as percussion / transition sound effects go. Need to work on an intro and lots of other things but this is the main idea so far. http://www.box.net/shared/nmd8f44ass
  23. Overall well produced and catchy. I found that the way that either some instruments, or the track as a whole was compressed is somewhat distracting. I think I understand the sound you're going for, but to me it takes away from track. I would have preferred hearing a more "open" version of the tune. Overall nice job, I can dig it..
