PRC143 - Let's remix some music data (Dare to Dream 1/2)
Bundeslang replied to Bundeslang's topic in Competitions
I uploaded OneUp's Bonus Mix from the last round and moved it to the PRC142 page. The link is here: http://compo.thasauce.net/files/OneUp_-_Insert_Soviet_Russia_Joke_Here__Bonus_Mix_(PRC142).mp3 I hope this works. -
The People's Remix Competition 143 PRCv6-13 Hello everyone and welcome to the People's Remix Competition! PRC142 started slow, but at the end four remixers where able to submit a song in time. OneUp also thought he was going to do that, but he was one day too late and he couldn't participate. He still submitted his Bonus Mix. Binweasel and Ghetto Lee Lewis where very close, at the beginning Ghetto Lee Lewis received the most points, but at the end, Binweasel wins with three points diiference. DjMokram claimed third place and Setokaibarocket ended with a last place wooden spoon. Binweasel wins his second PRC and he won the right to select the new source. First he planned to remix Kirby Superstar Revenge of Metaknight Ending, but since that source was also remixed in PRC73, check http://doulifee.com/prc/PrcSong/prc.php?prcid=73 for the songs, it couldn't fit. I asked Binweasel to pick again and he responded very quick. PRC143 can start and Binweasel selected a PC game which is very unknown. Dare to Dream 1/2 (PC) - Music Data 3 MIDI ThaSauce link I never heard from the game, which means I never played it. Looking at the internet didn't work as well, only a few cheat sites. The information which is given on the sites is very small. It was even hard to find a picture, at the end a picture from Ebay was the best. The game is very unknown (which means PRC worthy for sure). It doesn't have a PRC / OCR history. The beginning of the MID file reminds me of a well known tune, but the rest is unkown for me as well. Still, it sounds very interesting. GOOD LUCK! Fine Print: PRC instructions If you happen to be mixing this song already, start over in the interests of fairness. Limitations at ThaSauce require your entry to be 6MB or less in size. Length for length's sake and MIDI rips are not allowed. Entries must be posted in the ThaSauce link by SUNDAY April 5th at 5:00 am ThaSauce time (Check my signature (below) and the ThaSauce page for the exact time left. . You may enter as many mixes as you like and work with as many people as you like on each mix. Do not make qualitative comments on an entry until the results of the vote have been posted. Mixers cannot vote for themselves but if they vote they recieve a free first place vote added onto their score. The winner of the previous contest can't take part (however, he's free to submit a Bonus Mix) but his vote will be doubled. Doulifee's PRC Archives! For information about the previous contests.

It's results time. With four songs, it is a regular PRC. Regulars, like Binweasel and Setokaibarocket, a classic remixer; Ghetto Lee Lewis, who submitted his first (and only other) PRC song in the first anniversary (PRC26), and a newcomer, DjMokram, entered the round. Enough ingredients for an interesting round. No extension was needed, otherwise OneUp (and maybe DZComposer) also entered the contest. OneUp decided to post a Bonus Mix, which I will try to upload on ThaSauce in the next round. In the voting stage, ten people voted, the highest voters/participants rate from this season till now. All participants voted. It counts up as follows: Total number of mixes - 4 Total number of votes - 10 (MarkShark's vote counts, because he told he wanted to change it. Two songs received third place). Highest possible score - 33 OneUp was too late to enter, but his bonus mix is a nice song and it belongs to this PRC. Setokaibarocket takes his second last place wooden spoon in a row, but he received nine points this time. DjMokram enters PRC with a nice third place worth 17 points. Ghetto Lee Lewis did a very interesting song. He is close to the victory, but with 25 points, he ends at second place. And PRC142's winner is Binweasel with 28 points! The votes vary a lot, most voters gave Ghetto Lee Lewis or Binweasel the first place, but DjMokram also received two first place votes. GLL received the most points in the beginning, but at the end, Binweasel ends with one point more. DjMorkam ends at 15 points, Setokaibarocket at 9. Binweasel, you have won the right to select the source tune for PRC143. Send it to me by PM before next Friday, 27 March at 11:59 am Eastern US Time. You may select any source from any game, as long as it doesn't have an Overclocked Remix and it hasn't been on PRC before. You may select an underrated source from a popular game (like Mega Man Wily's Castle Theme 1) or a tune from a less popular game (like Godzilla for the NES). It's up to you to choose the source See you next Friday.

By voting again.

I'm not able to upload it now because I have to change the voting deadline and I don't know that's a good idea because I already have some votes. Doing something with other rounds and contest isn't a good idea as well. I guess I'll try to upload it to the next round and then edit the tags. And @MarkShark (if you read this). Your vote misses a third place. You have to add it because I might disqualify the vote if it doesn't happen.

CMC - Conceptual Music Competition 26: Dark Tavern
Bundeslang replied to Abadoss's topic in Competitions
I don't think it's allowed to vote for yourself because you also get a 2 point bonus if you vote. 5 Points extra is a bit too much and if everyone votes, only a few points have influence. -
I hope my internet connection doesn't fail on sunday, like what happened yesterday.

It's a remix competition. Check my signature for more information.

The People's Remix Competition 142 PRCv6-12 Hello everyone and welcome to the People's Remix Competition! PRC141 started with a lot of remixers liking the source. Finally Rexy wins her 17th PRC. Nobody has won more PRC's. Here's the winning table: PRC: 141 Editions 1 Rexy (17 wins) 2 The Orichalcon (10 wins) 3 S|r Nuts (9 wins) 4 Bladiator (8 wins) 5 Hylian Lemon (6 wins) 6 Ichitootah (5 wins) 7 Emperor, OneUp, Opk, RoeTaKa, Setokaibracket and V_Gasm (4 wins) 13 Analoq, ArseAssassin, Blak Omen, Hemophiliac, Just64helpin and Nutritious (3 wins) 19 Alex Smith, Andy Jayne, Chavous, DJ Siamey, Jeremy Robson, Less Ashamed of Selfs, Mythril Nazgul, Showroom Dummy, Theory of Nonexistence and Thu (2 wins) 29 Aluminum, Another Soundscape, Binweasel, Blueenvy, Chickenwarlord, DarkeSword, Dragonlord, DZ Composer, Evktalo, FiremanJoe, Flexstyle, General Slicer, Hetcenus, Kholdstare, Majeliss, Moseph, n0mad, Nasenmann, OverCoat, PriZm, Prophecy, Sadorf, Scott Peeples, Strike911, Tensei-San, TheoConfidor, Trenthian, Txai, Villainelle (1 win) I didn't complete a 'losing table' for the last place wooden spoon winners. Maybe next time. Rexy submitted her source very quick. It's from a RPG game that never left Japan. Rexy played the English version, and she liked it. It's not a Mario Game, but it is a Gameboy Advance game. Mother 3 (Game Boy Advance) - Unfounded Revenge MIDI MP3 ThaSauce link Since the game has never left Japan, it never arrived in Holland, so I never played it (Not the main reason). Wikipedia tells it's a game related to Earthbound, which I know better; K-Wix did an awesome Project from that game. This game doesn't have a PRC history and not an Ocremix history as well. It's up to this PRC to change it. GOOD LUCK! Fine Print: PRC instructions If you happen to be mixing this song already, start over in the interests of fairness. Limitations at ThaSauce require your entry to be 6MB or less in size. Length for length's sake and MIDI rips are not allowed. Entries must be posted in the ThaSauce link by SUNDAY March 22th at 5:00 am ThaSauce time (Check my signature (below) and the ThaSauce page for the exact time left. . You may enter as many mixes as you like and work with as many people as you like on each mix. Do not make qualitative comments on an entry until the results of the vote have been posted. Mixers cannot vote for themselves but if they vote they recieve a free first place vote added onto their score. PRC141 - It's A Me in the Stardust Road (Super Mario Galaxy)
Bundeslang replied to Bundeslang's topic in Competitions
Lot's of people think trance and hardstyle is the same, but IT IS NOT. I've thought to disqualify the vote, but since the first two places aren't 'juvenile' and he stated that he 'thought' that OneUp and Setokaibarocket did a in his eyes trance song, which means he doesn't want to give them the point, only place 3 and 4 aren't decided well (But, he listened to the song). If it was making different, I would have added a bonus point to Evktalo, but it wasn't needed. People who enter PRC try to do their best to win, I can't believe that someone knows how to make a better song and doesn't do it. Many times, the only reason why a remixer could have done better is time problems, not that they don't want to win the contest. -

PRC is a contest for sure. In the next round, I'll post a list with PRC winners over the last 141 times. Later, I'll create a list with scores. In that list, you can see who did the best over the last 5,5 years. Something like this: http://bambombim.googlepages.com/ContestStandings.xls -
PRC141 - It's A Me in the Stardust Road (Super Mario Galaxy)
Bundeslang replied to Bundeslang's topic in Competitions
Remember the slogan from the PRC: 'The only way to lose a compo is to not participate'. If you enter, you hope you win the contest. The main goal you want to participate is to learn to improve (and that's only possible when your do the best two win). But, of course, remixers want to win as well and have one of their favorite sources remixed. It's a nice gift (and of course several people do it just for that). If they win, it means that they do well, and that's what the remixers want to hear. A second place in a field with 10 songs should be worth more as a victory in a duel against one song. The opinion from each voter counts (including votes which are discussable). Gameboy's opinion can make people a little angry, but still, he gives his top 3. Every voter is needed, it doesn't matter how helpful it is (even the ones from persons who vote for genre, it tells something), as long as the voter listen to the songs. The only votes who aren't good are votes like: 'S|r Nuts gets first because I loved his remix 'That Tiny Blue Ball' which he did two years ago, The Orchicalcon gets second because he created an awesome Doom 2 Project and Bundeslang gets third for running the contest.' I hope this discussion can be closed and everyone can look ahead for friday, when the next round will start. . -
PRC141 - It's A Me in the Stardust Road (Super Mario Galaxy)
Bundeslang replied to Bundeslang's topic in Competitions
Yes, but in most cases, it's about 'people doing trance'. The voter (Gameboy) used that. I remember a ten year old boy (or girl) posting many remixes (MIDI Rips) on Vgmix while it was in phase 2.5. I wonder if he's the same person. -
PRC141 - It's A Me in the Stardust Road (Super Mario Galaxy)
Bundeslang replied to Bundeslang's topic in Competitions
My opinion is that it's good that people try to 'change' the music in their favorite genre, I don't agree with Gameboy at that point. I think the fact that OneUp and Setokaibarocket didn't get any points is not because it's not good that they try to make it a trance song. I even like those songs as well (trance is one of my favorite genres). In this round, I liked Rexy and Jmr's entries better. Next round, it can be different for sure (otherwise OneUp and Setokaibarocket didn't won 4 PRC's before). I don't think genre should be the reason why a song should get a first place vote or not. AND: No remixes ruin the song. Some people like the one, some like the other more, that's why some rounds are extremely close (like PRC139). There are even people who like my songs. Everyone is free to think what's his favorite song and that's why everyone is encouraged to vote. -
PRC141 - It's A Me in the Stardust Road (Super Mario Galaxy)
Bundeslang replied to Bundeslang's topic in Competitions
Still 37 seconds left to vote. EDIT: It's already over. It's results time. Already in the first days people said that they gonna enter and they did. Setokaibarocket submitted his song very quick, but (like usual) the most submissions arrived in the last weekend. With a small extension, people used the extra time they have very well. In the voting stage, eight people voted. Five of them are non-participants. It makes the following result. Total number of mixes - 6 Total number of votes - 8 Highest possible score - 24 Setokaibarocket was the first, OneUp the last to submit his song. At the end, it doesn't matter because they both get a cheap last place wooden spoon with zero points. Evktalo voted and received several third place votes, enough to get 7 points and a fourth place. CN did a nice vocal song. Several people decided to give it points, his third place is worth 11 points. Jmr did a good song, he received 75% of the maximum score, ending with 18 points at second place. And PRC141's winner is Rexy with 21 points! Rexy's 'piano performance' was very good, it's the best song from this round. Jmr ends close and CN and Evktalo divided the other points. OneUp and Setokaibarocket, two guys who know how it feels to win a PRC, both have a bad round and ended with no points (next time better). Rexy, you may select the source tune for PRC142. Send it to me by PM before next Friday, 13 March at 11:59 am Eastern US Time. Be there. -

Bundeslang replied to Bundeslang's topic in Competitions
I edited it wrong, I moved the starting from this round with 6 hours. Now it's fixed, the new deadline is Sunday 8 March, 11:00 AM ThaSauce time instead of 4:00 AM. -
PRC141 - It's A Me in the Stardust Road (Super Mario Galaxy)
Bundeslang replied to Bundeslang's topic in Competitions
There should be a little of the source in the song. It doesn't matter how much, but if I listen to the song I should think 'hey, this is a remix from Super Mario Galaxy's Stardust Road theme. If the song is 4 minutes long and it only has 30 seconds source it's OK, but if it's only 3 seconds, then not. Also: The deadline is extended with 7 hours because I have to work in the hours around the deadline was used to be. -
You should edit the link to the ThaSauce page (marked red in step 1). It links to the admin page of the contest. I'm sure not many here can view it. I can view it because I run PRC LOL. This is the correct link: http://compo.thasauce.net/rounds/view/ORC117

The People's Remix Competition 141 PRCv6-11 Hello everyone and welcome to the People's Remix Competition! PRC140 is over, with two sources, one extension, three songs and five votes it wasn't the best round, but a round with a winner. Showroom Dummy received many first place votes and it was enough to win from Evktalo and Bundeslang. The OneUp-Thu family winning streak is over. The sources where Faxanadu's Land of Dwarfs and Star Control 2 Syreen Theme. Showroom Dummy was busy this week, but he send his source on time. He decided to pick a source from a game which was also remixed in PRC128, one of the last PRC's from Rexy. It's a Nintendo WII game from one of the most legendary Nintendo characters. Super Mario Galaxy (N.WII) - Stardust Road Theme MIDI Youtube MP3 ThaSauce link I know the game, and I remember the last round. In that round, three entries appeared: Hylian Lemon took victory with the maximum score, and Setokaibarocket was beaten by Evktalo with only one point difference. In that round, the Gateway theme was the source, chosen by (yes, it is) Showroom Dummy. Let's see how this round will be. GOOD LUCK! Fine Print: PRC instructions If you happen to be mixing this song already, start over in the interests of fairness. Limitations at ThaSauce require your entry to be 6MB or less in size. Length for length's sake and MIDI rips are not allowed. Entries must be posted in the ThaSauce link by SUNDAY March 8th at 10:00 am ThaSauce time (Check my signature (below) and the ThaSauce page for the exact time left. EDIT: You have 7 extra hours..

PRC140 - Two Sources, More Fun (Faxanadu & Star Control 2)
Bundeslang replied to Bundeslang's topic in Competitions
It's results time. This round started slow, after the extension the number of songs is 3. With 5 voters, it makes the following result: Total number of mixes - 3 Total number of votes - 5 Highest possible score - 18 Bundeslang only spend one hour on his song and received a third and last place wooden spoon with 8 points. Evktalo was the best in the last round, this time he ends with 13 points at second place. And PRC140's winner is Showroom Dummy with 17 points! Showroom Dummy received the first place from all voters except for one. Evktalo took that and received second places from the other voters. Bundeslang ends last with only last place votes and his own. Thu forgot to vote for Bundeslang, so I decided to add it at the third place. Next time, I'll disqualify the vote. Showroom Dummy, you have won and you may select the source tune for PRC141. Send it to me by PM before next Friday, 27 February at 11:59 am Eastern US Time. Be there. -
PRC140 - Two Sources, More Fun (Faxanadu & Star Control 2)
Bundeslang replied to Bundeslang's topic in Competitions
Here's the voting stage Before the extension, only one song entered. One hour before the second deadline, it was still the only one, but then we received two others, including one from myself. All entries are eligible. The mixing stage is over. To vote, you should do the following: - Visit the stated ThaSauce Page and listen to all the entries - Scroll to the form at the bottom of the screen - Fill in the rank of the entries from first to third. - State a reasoning for it. Participants can vote, but not for themself. They can send in their top 2. As usual, they receive an added first place. The vote from Thu (as last rounds winner and not participant) counts twice, the vote from Evktalo (also last round winner) doesn't count twice but it can break up a tie between Showroom Dummy and Bundeslang for first place. You have until NEXT WEDNESDAY, February 25th at 2:59 am ThaSauce time, check my signature in the first post or simply the ThaSauce page for the exact time you have. The winner will get to choose the source tune for PRC141! The songs: Eligibles Showroom Dummy - Raumschiff Alpha Evktalo - Fax Bananas Bundeslang - Land of Some Samples -
PRC140 - Two Sources, More Fun (Faxanadu & Star Control 2)
Bundeslang replied to Bundeslang's topic in Competitions
I decided to do a simple song, I started one hour ago. It was to prevent that Showroom Dummy wins by default (in that time, Evktalo comes with an entry as well). This means we have competition, the participants can even vote .
