    So, uh... Did anyone actually bother to download the costume pack?

    I had a few good matches today. People kept ripping me up with Akuma and Zero, though. Interestingly, Akuma and Zero were on 4 of the 5 teams I faced. The one that didn't have them together still had just Zero.

    Apparently we're not gonna see any character announcements for a while, if Capcom's official site is anything to go by.

    Certain characters just feel really good at Sentinel-smashing, though. I dunno if it's the people I've played against or what, but with Chun-li's crazy kick (which I activate often because I have a nasty habit of pressing buttons twice in rapid succession) you can basically juggle Sentinel for an eternity. Either his shield take a split-second longer than most or the people I was playing against just kept on trying to push me back with spammy moves.

    I won 6 of 8 matches online today (though unranked, so my win percentage did not improve). The kid was about my skill level, but he basically used the same few canned combos with Dante and Wolverine, and when I beat him, he brought out Sentinel... And then I still beat him. I used 3 different characters every round.

    I am seriously getting annoyed by online though since every single team has Dante, Deadpool, or Wolverine. I have not seen a single MODOK user yet, not to mention Hsien-ko and Thor.

    My opponent uses assists: They are marginally effective and usually set me up to be combo'd. In the most recent case, to death. Over and over. Fucking spider man.

    I use assists: I just have TWO characters trapped in a team hyper combo that essentially drains over half my life meter. I still somehow managed to win twice in nine matches (until my wrist gave out). It was because of the wonderful spamminess of Tron and Haggar.

    That said, I would love to learn how to effectively reversal myself out of those damn team air combos. They are crazy infuriating to get caught in over and over.

    So I won two matches of the 7 or 8 I played last night. I won with a team of Haggar, Felicia, and Taskmaster -- the perfect combination of strength, speed, and outright cheapness. I can only imagine the rage those guys felt when they heard "spidey swing" for the six hundredth time.

    I lost several times to the same guy who used Ryu, Zero, and Dormammu... and basically stood back and just spammed assists. After 3 losses like that, I decided if custom ranked matches were gonna pair up with me every time, I'd stick to just random ranked matches.

    @Malaki: No, I've been playing fighting games for a while. I'm just bad at them. No patience to learn combos or how to properly play.

    I hate Dante. I mean, officially now.

    Everyone uses him. Everyone is decent with him. And because I suck so bad, I get caught in the same damn combos.

    I don't have the reflexes to pull off combos. I hit buttons quickly. It's all I know. I get frustrated when the commands are too context-sensitive, and I HATE HATE HATE those moves that require you to press forward, then down, then forward-down angle (or any variant of the above). It's completely unintuitive and often making a mistake means I do something else that is pretty much useless.

    Also also? Online players are just plain cheap. They'll pull the same shit and use the same characters over and over, like this is less a game and more assembly-line work with only one correct procedure. I have one win and 8 losses and it's driving me nuts. I don't mind a match where I barely lose, or one where I'm clearly getting trounced by a guy who knows what he's doing... But when I lose to a Captain America who is just dashing back and forth, I feel like hurling the whole TV out the window.

    In short I am a scrub and wish it played more like smash bros. A bloo bloo bloo.

    It'd be awesome if they released some "bonus" arcade DLC boss like, say... Deathevn orsome other huge Capcom bad guy, with some new endings.

    Yeah, yeah... "you're playing Arcade?" On Very Easy mode, to boot. I just want all the unlocks and character profiles. Fun fact: Captain America sucks at everything but pure fighting skill, according to his bio.

    I really don't understand wanting more street fighters, personally. Maybe from a nominal standpoint, we should have the likes of Bison or Balrog... But everyone else? Feh, they already have their own fighting game.

    Maybe DLC can give us, like, Sissel or something. That would be rad, morphing into various simple objects.

    I'm finding Tron, Hulk, Ammy, X-23, and Zero to be easy to use, while Arthur, Hsien-ko, Viper, and Cap'n are more difficult.

    Simple control mode is really TOO simple. I just end up endlessly spamming the same 4 attacks. I definitely need more practice, though -- I can barely execute a super on purpose.

    Online is fun, even though I'm losing constantly.
