  1. I've had my switch in the dock pretty much since day 1. No warp whatsoever. I did, however, experience slight left joycon weirdness after binge-playing Zelda for like 8 hours. But I usually play with the pro controller so it's less of an issue.
  2. Clu Clu Land with ONLINE MULTIPLAYER, thank you very much.
  3. I preordered 8 Switch games but have no preorder on the console itself. ;V Granted, those 8 games come out over the course of the next year and a half or so.
  4. I have no doubt that Zelda will be a launch title. I really, really wanna see two major things: Retro's project, and Smash Bros.
  5. Z is for Z.H.P. Unlosing Ranger vs. Darkdeath Evilman.
  6. I played Pokken in the arcade on my recent trip to Japan. It was fun for a bit but I pretty quickly ran into the kind of bullshit that always infuriates me when I play fighting games online. Not sure if I'll get it. Still trucking along in Xenoblade X. I started a new file and declared I would do every quest possible before starting subsequent chapters. That meant... a lot of swimming. I pretty much circled Cauldros. They put level 70 monsters in the water off the coast of Sylvalum just so you don't rubber band your controller or something.
  7. Still gotta get NEO. It looks like a blast. I will... after I'm done Xenoblade.
  8. Corrin and Bayonetta are both pretty neat-looking. Love that Bayonetta stage. As for Cloud, he's alright. He definitely feels strong, and despite being a swordsman, has a much different feel from Marth, Ike, or Shulk. Limit Breaks felt a bit OP, but that might've just been because I was playing Classic 6.0 and All-Star. I only wish they actually worked magic and materia into his moves somehow. Maybe instead of blade beam make a cycling spell attack special or something. Oh well. The Midgar stage is definitely cool. The summons are a visual spectacle without being unavoidable or distracting. Still, no Shiva summon? Whaaaaa?
  9. Just started chapter 6 tonight after going around doing all sorts of side story quests. One in particular drags you out to the far arsehole of Oblivia, through hordes of nasties and giants. I somehow missed a FrontierNav site on the way so I was extra-worried about dying. I'm definitely in love with this game, but there are a couple little nagging points I want to talk about. First off, equipment. Xenoblade did this too, but a lot of the equips you find are ambiguously bad, or some will be terrible but have some GREAT augment on it that makes it so you're unwilling to unequip it, even though stronger gear is available. Relatively minor but still worth harping on, because the game lacks Xenoblade's help notes on what augments actually do. You're in the dark and you might be in the dark forever. Secondly, why is there no means of selling old equipment en masse? I've got 50 guns I have no use for, don't make me sell them one by one (whoa-oh-oh-oh-oh, don't see the sun that sings for me). Lastly, the fact that high-level tyrants roam some common areas and wander into fights with the small fry can sometimes prove annoying, because there's sometimes no way to escape them. But such is life. Still, love it. Can't wait to get my skell.
  10. So.... amiibo Festival. No surprise it's getting blasted by reviews, but I picked it up last week and have been having a pleasant time with it. Playing the board and other minigames earns you points towards tickets, which can then be spent outfitting the board with stuff that can add new routes and change some events. Island Survival is the best minigame by far, but the quiz is definitely a fun challenge. The rest are kind of weird or one-note. That all said, one thing must be made clear: amiibo Festival is not for people unwilling to shell out some extra dough for additional cards and figurines. The game's variety and flavour are improved exponentially with some different villagers. Although the board game requires just one amiibo to play, any players not using amiibo are at a disadvantage. See, if you have a figurine, you get +1 Happiness for every die you roll. Not so for generic villagers. That means at least 30 additional points for amiibo-users every game. Plus, if you don't use figurines, getting points for tickets may be really slow-going. So, the cynical side of me says the game was a bare-minimum effort designed to generate as much revenue through cards and figurines as possible. That said, I really think they got the feel of Animal Crossing down pat in this game. The board game is laid-back fun, island survival is a fascinating mode, and the quiz has good variety. There's just not enough as it is right now. Overall, unless you REALLY want some more AC, I can't give this a recommendation to buy. If you want the figurines, buy the figurines, and don't fear you're missing out on anything essential by not having this game.
  11. Wild. Kind of wish we got a Square-Enix character more relevant to Nintendo (Erdrick?) but as long as Cloud doesn't just do the same Marth/Ike stuff he'll be a welcome addition. And that Mako Reactor map is like Unova League stage on 3DS on steroids.
  12. Now I wish we had a way to pick music in Mario Maker. That Contra theme, coupled with the level, stirred something deep within.
  13. Yeah, because we totally got Inklings, Toad, Yarn Yoshi, Isabelle, Tom Nook, KK Slider, and 8-bit Mario as characters already, right?
  14. There is not a "meh" dispassionate enough to express my feelings of this announcement.
  15. I second Resonance of Fate. By far and away one of the more unique and clever JRPGs of the previous generation. If you're fine with it being something of an FFT ripoff, Mercenaries Saga 2 on the 3DS is an excellent little TRPG. Think FFT merged with Fire Emblem class progression. And it's only like five bucks!
  16. Who's all getting Runbow today? I've been super-excited for it for a while now, and the demo this past E3 confirmed it's a must-buy. Also, Shovel Knight amiibo confirmed. http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2015/08/game_confirms_shovel_knight_amiibo
  17. Pikachu Libre is kind of a lame addition when we have several pokemon that personify wrestling that aren't getting used (Hawlucha and Hariyama come to mind), but I'd welcome another fun fighter for the system.
  18. Really looking forward to this. I like the Mario World style best, but the NES style's additional 8-bit character skins will be tough to pass on.
  19. I've admittedly been teary-eyed all night. He was an inspiration. Such a brilliant guy. One can only hope he at least went peacefully.
  20. I got up to Cat Champion, which is good enough for me. Whoever "Daniel" with the Roller was, you are my hero. You carried those half-dozen matches we had together and we dominated those scoundrels. Speaking of domination though, I sort of noticed matches would go strongly either way. There were very few close calls -- either we won by a mile or lost completely.
  21. Triforce. Tri Force. It's a pun. Here's a barf bag. Multiplayer Zelda is good to tide people over. They said Zelda U wouldn't be shown at E3 like 4 months ago, so anyone who did expect it to be there was not listening or delusional. Fed Force looks alright, but I think people are annoyed that it deviates to greatly from what Metroid looks and feels like. Chibi models work better for the 3DS but what they showed was just... ugly. Next Level Games will hopefully step it up a bit before it releases next year. amiibo Party on WiiU is... Well, they did say they were focusing on spinoffs and the like for the next year. Can't say I'm excited about yet another board game video game. If the content is robust and mixes it up though, we'll see. I'm definitely getting some of those AC amiibo though... ... Maybe I'm part of the problem. Love the idea of Paper Jam. Dream Team was great last year, this looks even better. Star Fox looks preeeeetty basic. It's out soonish, isn't it? Hope there's enough time to doll it up a tad because we know the WiiU is capable of better. Hyrule Warriors 3DS, I hope they include some streetpass feature, like maybe put up a character that if anyone streetpasses you, that character gets some exp for both you and the person you streetpassed. The only thing that bugged me in the WiiU version was that leveling took forever and was required for the more difficult adventure maps.
  22. So the Digital Event reveals as far as characters go was leaked today. I won'tr say what it was, but be wary on your way around the internet today if you don't want to be spoiled.
  23. Dev team has announced a sequel called Steamworld Heist. It takes place in the same setting but has different gameplay, with you sneaking aboard and stealing from airships.
  24. Smash Digital Event this SUNDAY SUNDAY SUNDAY, just before Lucas gets released. 20 minutes long. Expect at least one fighter announced as well as the next batch of mii costumes, and some stages. Wolf seems like the obvious choice to announce, but we'll see. We might get Ice Climber back!
  25. The WiiU general thread has usernames in the first post. Add them to your friend list and those people will get a notification.
