i haven't heard what other biomes are going to be around, but i'm thinking that i could do worse than a snow-covered cottage in the hills =)

i think a reroll is in order. once slash has cleared the room for the creeper temple, no more hacks - no diamond-encrusted buildings, no tnt duping, no anything. we just play the game the way it's meant to be played. it really makes the game kind of stupid if you just dupe the shit out of everything and don't mine anything. i know it made it kind of dumb for me, at least. edit: i haven't been back to spawn in a few days. did someone nuke my house again? =\

i'm an if-i-have-to guy, as well. i played lead alto most of my college career, which surprisingly has minimal solo opportunities thanks to the prevalence of tenor solos.

no guitar if possible, i think. it'd be best to lay down the drum track, first, complete with fills and dynamics as much as possible. record instruments, focusing on dynamics and group articulation as much as possible (trumpets would likely have to record first to ensure that the lead trumpet is actually leading and not just on top). then get comping piano and string bass in, edit drums as needed. once all that's done, record solos over the (now mostly finished) accompaniment. i don't think it could be done in any other way, honestly.

i can cover all alto sax, tenor sax, and clarinet parts, and i can do bari sax and bass clarinet if i can borrow instruments from on-campus. i've got a masters in saxophone performance. do i qualify? i have hacked around with an upright bass in the past, as well. i agree it'd be really, really tough to pull off. likely, the only way it'd work is if the same person records ALL instruments in their section. like, one person does all trumpets, etc. there's a level of accuracy in regards to articulation and intonation that would be desperately important as well.

...so, i guess i don't get it either.

yeah, what kind of prices are you looking for? if they're reasonable, i'd think about CT and FFIII.

he stole TNT from the server admin, duped it, and blew up a ton of shit in my house. what an imbecile. that whole area used to be closed in, with some nice glass/log fireplaces and torches supporting a raised ceiling. now it's a hole in the ground.

i wasn't as mad that strader barged into my room. i was mad that he barged into my room, saw that it was a ROOM and not a cave (lit with torches, symmetrically built, had a pathway leading to the rest of my house), and still started installing steps and shit like it was his. then when i patched it up, he kept on breaking in again. and then he massacred the entire facade of my house, too. that was annoying as well. as for having everything around the spawn, i at least have a good reason - that's where the monolith got started (there was a one-block tower right there already that the game spawned in). as noted by the "home away from home" sign on my door, i'm still planning on moving the important stuff elsewhere eventually. i need finish what i've got going first, though.

spawn crashes everyone to a point. also set your graphics on fast, normal draw distance (not far), view bobbing off...etc. if it draws more than a gig of memory, it'll usually lock up. do what you can to limit that.
