  1. what iwe already did that all those years ago?
  2. so why hasn't the 'currently' page been updated recently? can't anyone do that? you should see who updates more often. it could be a contest. a contest that actually means something to the faithful here at ocr!
  3. overcoat cuts right to the heart of the issue. spidey can't even hack his wrists open because his web will seal it shut! ultimate angst! edit: aw, don't pick on short-bus. you're only picking on him because you've been reading comic books since you were five, so people who don't trigger your idiot filter.
  4. try a ii instead of a IV, and i think you'll find it fits way better. the minor V works really well in this song because it's the equivalent of doing a i-V-I progression - a picardy third, if you will. for what it's worth, i don't think it's really a minor V chord, i think it's a ii sus chord with the sus in the bass. there really isn't a classical way to write that because it'd break so damn many rules, but it sounds cool - it's popular in modern music only, you'd never see it in traditional writing. for a guitarist, it'd look like this: B C#sus/F# C#m F#. B D# F# F# C# F# G# C# E G# C# (might be a seven in there, i can't quite hear it) F# A# C# F#
  5. i'm fine with that as long as it doesn't extend into, like, kenny g-style smooth jazz, or some stupid shit like that. gotta stick with our vibe here.
  6. i wasn't talking specific to quads, i was talking in general. yeah, clock speeds are the same, but look at the timings on a chip. for some mid-level ddr2 ram, 5-5-5-15 is a standard timing - 15 clocks to close one row, read the next one, and prep the next row! no wonder there's such a big gap.
  7. quads increase the processing performance in applications that are built for them specifically. however, the difference between a single core and a dual core in any application is absolutely enormous - the difference for a quad is negligible. there are a lot of multi-threading-capable applications that say that they're good with quads, but that's just marketing crap. in reality, the quad is still shits and giggles until the majority of the programming market is optimized for it [note - THIS INCLUDES FL STUDIO, REASON, AND MOST OTHER MAJOR DAWS AVAILABLE]. hell, vista isn't even optimized for it, and there still hasn't been word as to whether w7 is. even some of the top games out aren't really built for more than a dual-core, and some not even that - far cry 2 was the first game i ever played that accessed more than one core for processing gameplay. edit: i missed the multi-core thing phill mentioned. there's a reason we haven't seen anything more than that 6-core server cpu that intel put out at the end of last year. based on extreme multi-core tests, more than 8 might actually *decrease* the performance over a system with 4, 6, or 8 due to the simple fact that they don't have buses capable of handling that kind of bandwidth. moore's law in its virginal form applies here (i think it's moore's law, i don't remember off the top of my head), too - memory simply isn't expanding fast enough for cpu demands.
  8. go look at their site and see if you can figure out what the hell is going on. they can't, so they might appreciate the help.
  9. yeah, svchost does for general services (like networking and dns client) what rundll32 is for dll files (like audio and video drivers). power drain doesn't solve anything that might cause this - it's for whenever your mobo is like half-bricked or something. i don't know why they'd suggest that. maybe it's just cause it's an eMachines computer =)
  10. well, the reason that it doesn't work well in multitasking is exactly that. dualcores make for a sizeable different in performance regardless of what you're doing. now quad cores, on the other hand...
  11. i think just no one cares enough. it's been what, 11 years?
  12. i don't remember, is the 2200+ a true dual-core processor? as for aero working, it's more the memory than the card that matters. it's interesting that it worked with such an old system. did vista work on there?
  13. pressure changes can affect a bad motherboard, depending on what the capacitors are made of. for what it's worth, that looks like approximately the correct number of svchost.dll files you should be getting. xp only uses about five, but that's through process explorer, not task manager. this horrifies me. i've never heard of an issue that needed external heat just to keep the computer on. can you tell us what the bluescreen errors are? that'd help a lot.you might have to tell your motherboard (through the BIOS) to keep the computer on after an error (aka, no auto shutdown).
  14. i'm a fanboy. at least i'm not saying that he should throw his computer out the window and buy ff7 or something.
  15. you do know that you can get a decent-sized hard drive for about 40$ on newegg currently, right?
  16. are you still dating the girl who's name was queenie or something equally odd? what did her name mean again?
  17. i knew THAT, i read the book. i just didn't realize he was in EVERY scene, just most of them.
  18. i was looking at that movie in your sig again and saw the following comment:

    "niggers cant b bosses"

    i laughed hysterically.

  19. i picked this up yesterday and have been seeding at 70kbps nonstop since then, got about 5.6gb uploaded so far. great work, from what i've heard!
  20. i missed that rorschach is in all the scenes. i'll have to go back and look again.
