  1. so, has anyone heard of steve reich's piece 'new york counterpoint'? there's a good chance i'm going to be using that as a strong influence for one of these songs. i'm working on it now. well, kind of. i'm going to bed now. i'll wake up in seven hours, shave my head some more (it's getting long), and write some music. but reich is brilliant! absolutely brilliant, i say.
  2. the first mix on here is called either 'bonesaw overdrive' or 'one wanged bonesaw', can't tell. EXCELLENT. i will be visiting, if i don't forget by the time i wake up this morning.
  3. i like star wars. i also liked where this series is going now. old star trek was boring as hell, and most of the movies were terrible. new star wars is interesting, there's less boobies than there has been (i love boobies, but not in space, and not when they don't make sense and/or are strange colors), and there's comedy in a way that isn't just stupidity. lotd needs to stop being a blatant (read: BLATANT, you dumb shit...you hold no credibility, you have numbers in your name for goodness sake) fanboy of 80s drama and move on. the series was stagnant, so they blew up vulcan. and nero ear-raped your mum.
  4. first off, is there any plans for making a mobile (pda, psp, etc) version of this website - specifically, the forums? i know that i'm not the only person who tries to access the forums through a psp, and i'm sure that other people are interested in using their iphones and blackberries to get online. second, something i'd love to see would be a hardware/software review forum built off of, say, the remixing forum. limit it to just new threads posted by members who've been around a while (to prevent spam), and have it also limited to just one post per item/subject. overclock.net does this pretty well with a custom interface, but i think that just using threads could be nice so that people aren't always posting "is [product] any good" threads in various forums. just some ideas that i've been thinking about.
  5. when you come back from idle, does windows play any sound? or is it only rig that doesn't work? check to make sure you don't have more than one audio driver installed, and if you're using asio drivers try reinstalling with the newest version.
  6. what do you use? kontakt? i got the player through a deal with another program, but i rarely use it.
  7. wessel? doo dee doo doo
  8. now, why would you email me the link to 2girls1cup?
  9. yeah, but i don't know what he uses for something like this.
  10. would i be able to load all the different choices in hits into that, too? i don't know if the fpc allows for multi-sampled hits with the same button.
  11. i use fl studio. which would be a better version to get? i have reason but i never use it. would it be worth it to get the kontakt version? what would i need to use that particular version?
  12. i really hope they attempt to move the series forward more now, instead of OMG 150 MORE POKEM0NZ that wind up just being more copies of old ones.
  13. mabe is officially done, by xenon odyssey.
  14. did you ever think that most of these issues were related to your...problem?
  15. saw it, loved it. some good stuff. scotty is fantastic.
  16. i reported him a while back. he's toast.
  17. i enjoyed the halo 2 soundtrack, but it's not rock as a whole.
  18. classical is an umbrella word as well as referring specifically to the classical style (mid 1700s or so). rozovian, what you've got is an orchestrated version of a jazz song. isn't classical, necessarily, but it isn't 'orchestral'. on these boards, 'orchestral' implies Jeremy Soule or something.
  19. sp3 automatically can recognize single sata-based platter/ssd drives up to a theoretical 3.5tb, last time i checked. if it's raid, it can be as big as it wants to be. your hardware will be the only limitation, but i can't think of a mobo that won't take a 1tb.

  20. does no one here actually use the correct term for 'orchestral' remixes? they're CLASSICAL, people. say 'orchestral' to describe a classical piece in the real world, like a movement from a symphony, and people are going to think that you're smoking puppies on acid.
  21. yeah, sp3 does. but it wouldn't recognize it if the bios didn't recognize it as a hard drive. that's what i'm talking about.

although tb drives have been out since 2007. maybe the drive's a brick. you didn't buy a 7200.11 seagate, did you? those are notorious as of late for being DOA.

  22. doesn't recognize TB drives? did you flash the bios on the new mobo and/or test the drive on someone else's system?

  23. no, i don't have a timetable still. if you want to contact me with what you've got, i might be able to give you a direction on it.
  24. hey, i was a part of team cancer back in the day, i think. i don't think i'm a cancer, either.
