you've gotta look at the movie differently than most other equivalent movies. it takes a different perspective, since the whole point is that riddick isn't a guy trying to be a bad dude, he really IS a bad dude. and the graphics are fantastic, particularly considering that it was done several years ago. *spoiler alert* the book of the movie (which actually wasn't TOO bad) has them going to the gates of the underverse now that riddick leads the necromonger horde so that he can see what's up and if he can get jack back there. *end* i'm looking forward to seeing the movie of that.

almost sounds like a few addictive drums presets i'm familiar with, but less compression.

i'm probably going to buy the game and purchase the special content seperately. i don't need a third copy of the discs (my mom bought me the boxset after i told her i enjoyed the movies...from the boxset i bought myself...ugh).

so, is anyone else excited about this game? i've been a big fan of the riddick universe since i saw chronicles of riddick in theaters in high school. bought the 2.5-movie set at walmart for 15$ and got really into it. i was going to play through butcher bay, but while looking for outlets to purchase it i noticed this game a while back and have been following it since. vin diesel did riddick's voice, and the graphics look pretty good. for those not familiar with how the disc will be released, it's going to include both a completely redone version of Escape from Butcher Bay (which was considered one of the best FPS experiences of 2004 for consoles) and the new campaign, Assault on Dark Athena. both campaigns will be unlocked upon purchase of the disc and will represent almost 20 hours of gameplay, which is epic for an fps game. multiplayer's supposed to be pretty crazy, too, featuring your standard modes as well as one called 'pitch black' - five mercenaries with whatever weaponry they want and a flashlight mounted on the gun are dumped into a completely dark room to hunt for riddick (who, of course, is able to see in the dark and is armed only with his ulak blades). sounds insane!

but don't download anything pre-1000. there are good mixes in there, but as a whole they don't hold a candle to the stuff that's come out since then.the bar's been raised significantly since then, and it's obvious. most of those mixes would never pass nowadays. if you want music from a certain game, try ones you've never heard of before. the remix of dune (which is an old one...oh well), arrakis wormsign, is excellent. bart klepka is the mixer.

why would you use midi inputs? that'd kill the whole point of using it. if you're trying to record with it, just put the main out into your system directly. there are supposedly midi-based theremins, but buting a sample set is way cheaper.

i wasn't clear. i modded the crap out of xp, and vista alone will be more stable than modded xp. they were mostly ui enhancements, including desktop sidebar, samurize, the rain-something collection of programs, and several hacks to allow for 3rd-party collections. if i had actually cleaned up after myself, there wouldn't be this issue =) by themselves they're not mods, but i used altered version of the programs that in turn altered my system to allow for better integration.

well, the name's been registered in america. BUT, there are several cell-phone games that have been converted and have come out as psn/xbl/wiiware games in the past, and that's what they're thinking will happen here.

doesn't zircon use vista 64-bit for everything and love it? who knows. also, jimmy, try firefox 3.1 beta 2. it's fantastic with memory usage, and it might even fix your indefinite process thing.

either are great, really. you could pick either and be very happy with it. just flip a coin - it's actually how i do some of my hardware choices =)
