  1. bumplage. work on your tracks, guys! update on the song that PriZm and I are doing: He's currently recording the electric guitar parts. after this is done, i've gotta record some hand percussion and bass guitar, and master it. then record the sax part. master that. so, still a lot of work. but at least it's coming along.
  2. So... I'm guessing all of that kind of stuff should be pm'ed then? Because information like that is all too useful in actually getting people to know what you're talking about sometimes. he's saying that you shouldn't trade liscenced music through the forums, dumbass. this isn't a place to get free copyrighted music, it's a place for free stuff to be transfered around. if you think a liscenced song fits what you want as a request, that's nice. it's STILL illegal to just give a file to someone who hasn't bought it.
  3. STFU. i was seriously hoping someone would say that.
  4. same here. i'm just waiting on PriZm to send me gweetar parts. then, i'll record my sax parts and have it done the next day. Pressure's on me Prophet: there are a couple of things I'd like to discuss regarding arrangement so I won't be recording guitars this weekend. I'll most likely spend the weekend recording Spc1st guitars and next week tweaking your song if that's alright. of course. can you email me your questions?
  5. i wound up prchasing an m-audio mobilepre USB preamp, and a marshall electronics MXL V57M studio condenser microphone. i got both for around 180 dollars, plus shipping. i was talking to a guy in the studio at my school, and he suggested the preamp simply because then, if i ever wanted to upgrade, i could get different microphones instead of having only one that I could ever use. i got the preamp today, and i'm waiting on the microphone still. has anyone ever tried one of these preamps? what's your take on them?

  7. oops double post. Why doesn't someone update the website at some point? At least the numbers, so we can see where people are on their mixes.
  8. I did, I'm doing guitars for Spc1st and Prophet. Gonna start recording as soon as I get my new gear friday werd. did you understand what i was asking?
  9. hey, why are we still stuck in WIPs and not in Site Projects? don't we have 75% of tracks assigned, when you count PriZm and my collab on Richard's Villa?
  10. hey, don't poach my geetahrist. he's doing Richard's Villa with me. speaking of which, i just finished the outline. i'll pm you with the details, prizm.
  11. do you put an asshat or an asscap on an asshead? what about an asstoque? or an assbeanie?
  12. after a lot of searching, i've decided on purchasing a USB preamp, and then purchasing seperately a condenser mike for my stuff. I'm looking at the M-Audio MobilePre, and the Marshall MXL V57M mike. any suggestions? Keep in mind money issues - I can get both of these, and the cables and shockmount, for about $210.
  13. I'm interested in purchasing a new microphone for recording saxophone and other instruments. It's gotta sound good, be relatively cheap, and (most importantly) HOOK UP TO MY COMPUTER in some way or form since I don't own a sampler or mixing board to run it through. I've looked around on several different sites, but i'm interested in feedback from people who use this kind of stuff regularly (or semi-regularly). Any suggestions on this?
  14. s'good to know someone cares =). btw, check your oms for the link.
  15. make the whole song a little quieter, get your dynamic range in there, then normalize later with a wave editor like Audacity or CoolEdit.
  16. this is the first post i've ever seen of this fag that's almost nice and relevant. i think that Jesus will be coming back soon, now.
  17. holy shit, a two year old thread ressurected. basically, clipping comes from the audio being too loud. if it's clipping on everything (headphones as well as 2 speaker setup) and it just sounds distorted, turn it down. in general, when a mix gets clipping, just turn the damn thing down a few notches and you'll be fine.
  18. i'd like to be in on this project in some regard. i'm offering services with sax or bass. plus, i'd like to be one of the listed mixers, if possible.
  19. you can purchase the lifetime free upgrades for like 30 bucks, man, through the website.
  20. Nonetheless, ReCycle is used on a regular basis, particularly in the sampling industry. It is the ideal program for taking raw WAV data and turning it into usable grooves which can then be sold. If you already HAVE a loop or a groove, and it's just for your own personal use, then chances are no, ReCycle will probably not be just what you need because often times you will be doing more with the groove then just chopping it. But for purely doing that (and for doing it well), ReCycle comes out on top. Prophet; it's only $200, actually, and it's as low as $100 with an educational discount. i checked propellorheads.se, but that discount would be really nice. REEEEEALY nice. now, how does the standalone beatslicer that FL offers on their site (BeatSlicer or BeatQuantizer) compare to ReCycle?
