  1. i'd make better time if newegg didn't take a week to ship a friggin dvd drive. only thing i'm waiting on before i can start loading the OS.
  2. two issues here. 1. are you seriously saying drm is bad for medium-sized publishers? those are the ones hit the hardest by piracy. when you only sell 75k of a game, and it's pirated 500k times, that's worse than selling 5m copies of a game and having it pirated 2m times. look at a game like demigod for an example of what can happen. 2. don't confuse drm on a console with drm on a pc or otherwise. PC drm involves tons of stupid bullshit that literally doesn't work at all at what it's supposed to do (prevent people from stealing your game). console drm isn't to prevent a person from stealing your game, it's to prevent a CORPORATION from stealing your profits. it's one thing to be all high and mighty and complain about drm being wrong or some bs, but when it comes to consoles you're just being a cheapskate and trying to save a few bucks at the expense of your favorite developer.
  3. no. most fridges can barely cool themselves, and the condensation created would nuke just about any system. the h60 is a pretty nice unit (there are better out there but not better price/performance in that price range). you just strap the cooler on and then put the radiator unit either between the rear 120mm fan or behind it, so that it pulls air through it to cool everything. easy to install and effective. once the dvd drive gets here tomorrow and i can actually finish the build, i'll post some pics.
  4. hey, got a new build coming in with a corsair H60 (self-contained watercooling unit) as the cpu cooler. i'll post some pictures soon.
  5. not a bad laptop for the price. buy a chill pad and expect it to not last forever, though - it'll run hot. i'd also recommend stripping whatever it's running off, and run W7.
  6. hey, i saw this being demoed the other day. was thinking about checking it out. sounds like it's worth my time =)
  7. you have a poster of your face? that is so awesome. i would never be able to pull it off.
  8. i never played okami, but i've always been impressed with the art from the game. i looked a bit and i was right: others felt that the art style from that game was inspiring. http://www.artofokami.com/ http://www.ebay.com/itm/230628474761 http://society6.com/ruwah/God-Hound-Okami_Framed-Print also, i found this one, which i thought was pretty cool. yamelme.deviantart.com/gallery/42709311 - a whole set of minimalist game posters, including some recent good ones like ME3, tomb raider, and skyrim.
  9. i'll likely start a guild, so i'll ping you when i have more info.
  10. zac does some interesting stuff, but not really the style i was looking for. plus his store is mostly comics of some kind, not really standalone stuff.
  11. yeah. at this point they're working towards getting a 'major fantasy writer' to write a book about the universe, at 1.8m total (including paypal, which is ~100k at this point). also, i'm in at the 35$ level, so if you're gonna play, you should let me know =)
  12. i'll bump this up because i can't believe that there's only a few people interested in this kind of stuff.
  13. haha, i just looked at the original judging thread for junkie and realized that it was back in december of 2007...and it had been done for a while at that point. judges complained about mastering issues even then! =)
  14. this is gorgeous! so awesome. and my wife thought it was cool, too, so that's positive as well =) annie, yeah, i've definitely seen a lot of knockoff stuff or digitized and printed stuff that wasn't originally the artist's. i usually prefer to go through the artist themselves on something like this but i was hoping for direction. i really like the movie poster-style ones that i linked in my original post, but i'd like one or more different games than what's there. i think it'd be cool to get one for either the witcher, the gears of war or halo series, mirror's edge, mass effect, or a few other games that i really enjoyed but aren't necessarily very popular (like enslaved: odyssey to the west). i'd love to get something for eve online too, since i'm a big fan of the game also.
  15. hey, now that i've got a house with an office and everything, i need to find some game art. i prefer more serious/artsy stuff - that is, like these: http://www.marinkoillustration.com/Video-Games http://fineartamerica.com/featured/2-plays-per-quarter-benjamin-yeager.html http://www.etsy.com/listing/123455349/assassins-creed-inspired-print-11x17 anyone got some more works that i could look at? i'd prefer framed or mounted prints, and i prefer more modern games over super-retro stuff.
  16. love how they use useless stuff - like an ion bank in the silver plug - to make themselves sound super cool. it's a lot of nice hardware, but honestly i can't imagine myself using all of that crap only to cycle in new parts in six months. also, 45d fittings aren't new. i use them all the time in watercooling kits with fat tubes that don't bend well.
  17. get me a parts list and i'll get you the cost. i'm really tired now and not super into listening to that mouthbreather too much XD
  18. mustin's "most recent posts" page shows his last 25 posts. it extends back to 2012. that said it's an awesome track =)
  19. hey, don't forget that i drove out and dropped it off for the cost of the gas, too =)
  20. yeah, sorry, but he was fixing it. i'll sound really pretentious too and say that i know it because i own and use the programs regularly, and some of the most obvious tells were showing in the videos. it was fun to listen to! but it's obvious that he didn't sing every single note exactly in time with exactly the right pitch. i still liked it =)
  21. i think it's comical he thinks people will believe him that he's not using voice correction software =) the video isn't even in sync with his mouth half the time!
  22. good to hear you got it fine. i am so frustrated that they still required a signature after i made a stink of myself at the desk and signed the form and everything. basically, my fee is reduced to 5% the cost of parts plus 50$, instead of 10%. for smaller machines it isn't a huge savings (which, honestly, i get so little from them that there's not much left anyways) and for big machines it can be a pretty large discount.
