  1. Got my samples today. Still trying to figure out how to use them in Sonar though.
  2. I just got my tracking info yesterday and it should be arriving at my door sometime after 12 on monday. Takes them a while to ship, but they ship it fast, from CA to FL overnight.
  3. I use: Software: Cakewalk Sonar 4 Producer Edition (Soon to be 5) Reason 2.5 Hardware: Digitech RP200 Eurorack UB1202 Shure SM57 Shure SM58 Shure SM94 Behringer Composer Pro Aphex 204 Aural Exciter 2 Behringer Truth B2031A's Monster Cables Instruments Casio CTK-650 Keyboard (Which doubles as my MIDI controller.. yes, laugh at my misfortune ) Customized Ibanez Jay Turser Strat-style 6-string Squier Strat (the old cheaply made ones that weigh a ton) Carlo Robelli Acoustic Guitar Carlo Robelli Bass Guitar one regular sized brain --------- I'm soon getting some new sample libraries, which would be my first in that area, but I don't have or use them yet so I didn't include them above. But they are: Quantum Leap Brass Ultimate Strings Ultimate Piano ProSamples Ethnic Adventures ProSampes Rare Ethnic
  4. It'll probably last until the stock is gone. Hopefully I'll get another paycheck by the time that happens, I already bought 5 libraries, but I still want more.
  5. I used an SB live for the longest time and it was extremely easy to use and provided decent results for me. I only recently upgraded to an Audiophile 192, and I actually miss my SB live. If you buy only one microphone, I'd make it the SM58.
  6. Or instead of spending $50 on a DirectBox, you could buy a $5 1/4" to 1/8" inch adapter and plug it into your soundcard. That's what I did until I finally splurged and got a mixer.
  7. I like the orchestrated version released on VGmix more, but this definately rocks.
  8. Lies! .... just kidding. Yeah, I actually printed out that whole PDF too, I should really actually use it .
  9. Ok, sounds like it's possible. But I have no idea what an LFO is, and I'm running 2.5, so I don't have the Combinator. I've tried using the Matrix before, but I can never get it to work. I'm probably not hooking it up right or something. Help?
  10. Is there a way to get a tremolo effect in Reason other than automating the volume billion times? I'm using 2.5 currently.
  11. Do you know how to play the keyboard, or at least have the will to learn? If not, I'd go with something smaller, like a 2 octave midi controller. Something like this.
  12. I can connect to other servers just fine (well, I only tried irc.vgmix.com). I /do/ get this message though: [21:21] *** :Services.EnterTheGame.Com KILL Darangen :([Ref#:66644 - Expires:3/10/06 11:47:00 PM] new trojaned machine) [21:21] *** Error: Closing Link: 154-175.119-70.tampabay.res.rr.com Darangen (Killed (Services.EnterTheGame.Com ([Ref#:66644 - Expires:3/10/06 11:47:00 PM] new trojaned machine)))

  14. I just hope the enterthegame irc server lets me connect sometime before the show
  15. Thought some of you might like this: Finally Home - Reason File Since this is my first release using Reason through the ReWire option in Sonar, I thought I'd share it. Who knows, maybe someone is wondering how I got the sounds.
  16. I just think it's funny that he put double quotes around ego. Maybe it's a cultural thing. [the post I responded to was deleted... bastards.]
  17. About the genre (emo, punk, whatever)... I like to try different styles and approaches to songs. Even though some of my releases may sound similar in style and genre, I always originally start out wanting to try new things and explore different territories. I remix for fun, and only for fun. If people don't like the finished products, I'm not going to be offended by it, and if they want to leave criticism, that's cool too. If people do end up liking it, that's just an added bonus to the fun I had making it. I can understand genre bias, because there are genre's I don't like too.. like rap. I wouldn't say rap is "bad", but it's definately not my taste. Also, I've been getting alot of requests for a instrumental mix of this. It's probably not going to happen, sorry if that busts your bubbles. Anyways, thanks to everyone for their comments and suggestions.. and death threats.. and whatever else they've put here.
  18. I'm using 2.5. I've heard that you can use the Matrix plug-in to loop-control volume. How do I do this? I've tried connecting to the AMP CV thing of the synths, but I can't seem to get it to work.
  19. Well, as for the comments on my vocals: I AM trying to get better. I'm taking voice lessons, I'm practicing a lot, and I feel this is the best I could do when I did it. You don't just magically jump from a beginner voice to a professional voice, it takes time, lots of it, and practice. If you don't like my voice, don't listen to the track, simple as that. I appreciate criticism, but harsh bashing isn't criticism. And for the lyrics, they're on the song page, the line is actually "This heart's debut is overdue". Thanks everyone for your comments.
  20. Only RealPlayer and RealAlternative will allow you to listen.
  21. I just started using Reason about 2 weeks ago, so it'd be neat to see how people do things. I only have Reason 2.5 though, not 3.0 (I'll upgrade as soon as I can spare the cash). Anyways, the song I'm working on right now is almost finished, and I use Reason through SONAR's ReWire DXi. So I'll put up the .rns file, but it'll be missing some of the instruments (guitars, drums, bass, etc.).
  22. I hate getting into things like this, but I thought I'd chime in and make it known that I've learned things from Zircon's tutorials. I'm not saying he's my best friend, or that he's an enemy, just that some people do find his 'advice' (and that's what it really is, just advice) useful.
  23. "little viggie" was the best part, other than the RAPE interview.
