  1. There's always the Zombor fight, and Frog whooping his ass. You could always start the music as Zombor comes together, add a minute to the song. That'd work.
  2. Hmm...shalt thou and Emperor duketh it out? Sorry, Ben...unless Emperor gives it up, he's got it. I know I did this thing a little early...and I know you already had your plans worked out for the song...dangit... Emperor, any chance you can work this out with Ben here? Track 22 is also dark-themed, and includes Magus' awesome destruction of Queen Zeal. That'd be tight. But I won't push you away from the piece if you want it...you were first, after all...
  3. Double post, sorry, but I have to get this to the top of the list. Alright, it's close enough to noon...mixers, post what songs on the OST listing you'd like to do, along with source tunes you plan on using, wait for a PM from me, and start making music! ALSO, I have an update on the title theme song...I've listened to the choices time and time again, thoroughly enjoying them all many times in a row, and I have finally made up my mind. And the winner is... "Inciting Incident" by sephfire The others came very close, but his is the best suited for an opening theme. The other finished pieces will be bonus tracks on the ST anyway, so...congratulations all. You've earned it.
  4. Alright, I just listened to "Darkest Omen", and it fits perfectly with number 12 on the OST listing (the Cyrus flashback sequence), so I'll PM mv and ask if he wants it used. If he does, mv is in, and we have another spot filled. Well, the ending theme has already been pre-offered to somebody else, so...if you want to do #24 on the OST listing, the farewell theme, that's still up for grabs... Just noticed that I should make this clear: numbers 1, 3, 25, and possibly 12 are all NOT available for mixing. I repeat, 1, 3, AND 25 ARE NOT AVAILABLE FOR MIXING. 12's fate will be decided soon, so PLEASE DO NOT CHOOSE #12 AS AN OPTION. I'll put that up on the front page (just in case somebody missed it here).
  5. Technically, you can start on your piece now, sephfire. It's just that, if somebody else claims it before you do tomorrow at noon, then they get it, even if you're halfway done. So just be on the offensive. Also, it is HIGHLY encouraged that you take on more than one track. Two or three would be ideal; just try to do as much as you feel comfortable with. Yeah, for you, battle themes would be rockin'. Pulse-pounding orchestral is your forte, definitely.
  6. Before you do anything, at least PM me and tell me what song it is. That way I can tell you from what point to what point in the script your song will be covering.
  7. If you'd like for it to be removed from the race, I can do so. I personally thought that it was a very nice song, and it should be considered...but it's your call. Besides, you can always update it, you know.
  8. Sorry for the double post, but everybody... CHECK THE FRONT PAGE.
  9. Your piece just won't be considered for the title theme, that's all. But since we already have 4 contenders...at least there's something to like, right?
  10. Alright, Ben will work fine. Mr. Wu, I'll change the title forthwith. Tracks can be selected (first come first served) as soon as I announce that the mixing stage has begun (either tomorrow or Sunday). Azar, it seems that TrenzHost is down for some reason, so I'll just let it have some time to get back up and running before switching to another host. Can you do without for a day or two? ---------- And RoeTaKa...this is a hard decision. Wow. The arrangement isn't bad, and the mood of darkness is pulled off very well. It's just that it's littered with so many bad spots, very bad samples, and a case of split-personality disorder. It doesn't know what it wants to be. As is, I'm afraid I'm going to have to say no. I'll let you submit new copies (with better samples, please) until the end of tomorrow, but if it still hasn't improved enough, then I'm sorry. I just hope you get it done right. Oh yeah...a little more than an hour left, y'all! Get 'em in!
  11. ellywu2 = ACCEPTED ((ASIDE: Does your song have a name, Mr. Wu?)) PLBenjaminZ = ACCEPTED ((ASIDE: Is there anything else we can call you other than that rather complex name? Something simpler? And can you think of a better name for your song?)) SirRus = ACCEPTED Additionally... blizihizake = ACCEPTED Congrats, all. Veeeeeeeeeeeery impressive. ---------- DJZeroShadow: I'm sorry, but I already have somebody that I've asked specifically to do a live piano piece for the end theme. Yes, I know kLuTz's work...his Wind Scene remix is one of my absolute favorite songs ever. But I saw a specific talent in somebody else, and I want to use him. Sorry. Ima update the front page.
  12. Alright, sorry for the double post, but this is (one of) the last reminder(s) I'm gonna give you guys: YOU HAVE UNTIL TOMORROW TO SUBMIT YOUR AUDITION PIECE. This is the way it's gonna work: the piece doesn't even have to be done. Only pieces in the 3:00 range (2 so far) will be considered for use as the title theme, but in order to be accepted, all you have to give me is an orchestral piece that uses the correct source themes and starts off slow, eventually getting more energetic somehow. That's all. I know you all can do that. So basically, you still have 16+ hours to get your stuff in. Please do so. You won't regret it.
  13. I know that...I was just making fun. Trying to lighten the mood and all. Remember, you can never take what I say completely seriously. I never get truly upset or absolutely set on one thing - I always have that humor about a situation. There's always room to make fun. Even of myself.
  14. Uh...no, I meant simply orchestral. But the piano and drumkit parts of that quote are no longer valid. I have to update the first post... Uh...who were you talking about? Just wondering. EDIT: I received a PM from Silvercloud and I have to correct myself on the black hole comment. Technically, Silvercloud is right: black holes don't suck. Sucking requires an act of intense pressure that pulls something. Black holes exert no pressure, but instead use massive gravitational fields to swallow up everything around them. So my apologies to Silvercloud in that regard (see, I'm not above correcting myself). EDIT 2: I also should apologize for the earlier part of my rebuttal comment, concerning Silvercloud's site history and postcount. It's obvious through his writing and intellectual capacities that he is not some stupid n00b to be pushed aside. Just misguided.
  15. Wow. Uh...troll? When I said that the script is top-notch, I meant that as a way of saying that I put the vast majority of CT's plot into slightly more than two hours' worth of script. You obviously have no idea what kind of torture that was, considering how much I adore such characters as Robo, Ayla, Ozzie, and (who can forget?) Dalton. It was a hard task that I can't (and won't) expect you to understand. Also, when you point out dialogue such as the Crono/Melchior scene in 1000 A.D., you say that "Melchior obviously needs to be reminded of the world's state of affairs"...which is a very blatantly stupid comment, coming quite simply from somebody who's played the freaking game. The audience (should this become a movie, as I wrote it to be) will likely include many people that have never even heard of Chrono Trigger, thus meaning they have no idea what Melchior would be thinking, because we're ten seconds into the conversation, without any backstory on him at all. How elite of you. Additionally, this is not a final draft. THIS IS NOT A FINAL DRAFT. I'm not stupid...three years of screenwriting classes has taught me that a script takes a week to write and six months to a year to edit, ESPECIALLY in terms of dialogue. Have you ever seen the first copies of the original "Star Wars" scripts? They were laughable, at best. With specific attention paid to dialogue, they became better. Also, it's a lot easier to read something and think it's ridiculous, but when something is said, with inflection and emotion and pause and all the basic attributes of any personality, it's much more alive. Someone (you) reading the script from a pessimist's point of view would not at first conceive this...but I don't fault you for it. In the end, I'm sorry you feel that way. But this is not a thread for people to attack the script, or the work, or anything else. The script is subject to change, and subject to interpretation. That is its nature. This thread is for people interested in helping, interested in participating (in a constructive manner, mind you), and for people who give a damn about making the OST as good as it can be. The OST is not dependent on dialogue...thus, the dialogue can suck as much as it wants (which it doesn't), as long as the action portrays what is necessary.
  16. It does have context. The script. However the script is interpreted is up to the remixer, which makes this a truly fan-driven project...everything is individually subjective.
  17. Yeah, sephfire...that was pretty amazing for a fan to say that, don't you think? Not fanboys. Just...fans.
  18. From what I hear in your piece, you're the one who's intimidating, dude. This is awesome. Your string work is phenomenal. This is the perfect way to begin a movie. Just make this 3:00 long (2:50-3:10, somewhere in that range) and you're in.
  19. Five days (including today) left, you guys. I've got seven people accepted so far, with a few more in the WIP process, so don't be afraid to post your progress here. Remember, November 5th.
  20. Incredible shite. This is orchestral ambience at its purest, at its absolute freaking best. GrayLightning puts a new spin on the word "pwn", that's for sure.
  21. Oops...didn't double-check. Lemme fix that. (It's a good name, by the way.) And in regards to titling, all titles are the choice of the mixers, unless they're really off-course. If the Magus battle song is called "Little Bunny Fight-Fight", then something's gotta go.
  22. Any chance, DarkeSword, that you could put all of the WIPs in the first post for easy listening?
