  1. Virtua Fighter 4. It had the King of Fighters/ Street Fighter 3 style music theme that changed with each round AND it had the best music of the series, ever. Putting them back to back, I preferred VF4's music to SF3's. And Phantasy Star 1 and 2 had great, but too-tinny soundtracks. But a few tracks were very memorable. Some dungeon tracks won't leave my head.
  2. On another note, apparently Brits are having a field day for Black Friday. Because their Pound is about double the worth of the dollars. Who says Black Friday is an American thing? I bet foreigners are all over this.
  3. Final Smashes = Banned in tourneys. I called it.
  4. Well, to Naruto (best cel-shading effects I've EVER seen, though Okami still is the better artistically) to Bioshock to Call of Duty 4 to Mass Effect and other games recently, 360 is really showing off its capabilities in every form. The best thing about Mass Effect is mostly with its facial effects though. And the general sense of size and scale it creates, that I haven't see much of in any games like it.
  5. Haha, americans get great sales. Whee!
  6. At the very least, best RPG of 2007. You can't deny that Mass Effect HAS to be the most ambitious game to come out this year. And storytelling aspect, it's just ridiculous how intuitive it is. It truly is an experience and I'm not saying that as a cliche. The review points are pretty high up, but review scores can't accurately describe Mass Effect in a shell. I'm hoping the story elements of Mass Effect could have ripple effects on future RPGs, though I'm less optimistic of shallower Japanese RPGs to do the same anytime soon. Funny because Mass Effect is the same. Other than a few stutters of over-action on screen, it's a pure beauty. Lots of amazing 360 releases this month.
  7. Especially with inane banter, yeah. BTW, did anyone laugh at the line "You can change the color of your character by pressing buttons on the character-selection screen! This is one of the many joys of Smash. This time, each character has about six different color variations." OOOOOOOOOh. I CAN CHANGE COLOURZ.
  8. So right now, Mass Effect is pretty much getting the 'BEST GAME OF THE YEAR' accolades. And I can't deny BioWare on it. GameTrailers.com pretty much gave it one of the highest raves the site has ever given out.
  9. It's called 'speculation' and 'discussion'. They fulfill themselves. I find it funny when people see this as 'whining' or 'complaining' when basically the only thing up for question is obviously the online mode. Again, the trackrecord says it will be pretty clunky + functional at best. I don't really care for it at all, but I understand the complaints. I bet even the most ardent complainers who own the Wii will eventually buy the game anyway.
  10. People drink and drive and abuse their driving privileges. I doubt training itself will solve collegiate social culture when it comes down to reckless driving. Personally, I make it a point to never drink and drive. Then I decided never to drink to begin with. And I give rides to people who even had a casual drink. Annoying, maybe, but better safe than hurt or worse, dead.
  11. I'm feeling iffy about this game's...... commercials. House theme + assassins?
  12. I'm pretty sure the reason why people jump to conclusions on the online features is because their track record hasn't exactly been good or quite as advanced as its competition (POLLS on the Wii? ZOMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG). Also, their ardent shooting-down of any and all hard drive, voice and other features just leads people to think it won't have the extended online features the other consoles do. It's simple empirical logic as far as online play is concerned. I agree with Bigfoot though. Even with something like Virtua Fighter 5, the online feature is NICE, but it's definitely not necessary. It's just a bonus and not really something that will make or break SSBB. "As Geoffrey Taucer pointed out, it's good in that you don't have to deal with as much constant swearing, bragging, and just general douche-baggery. In some ways, this makes internet play more accessible to people who don't frequently play online to begin with." I have to disagree with that one. Because some games really are a haven for douchebags like in MMORPGs or slower FPS games where people can actually have more fun messing around and being jackasses than not. But SSBB and other fighting games really don't lend themselves to being very chatty games as far as online games are concerned. I still think it's more of a security issue with Nintendo since they're probably concerned more about litigation issues such as when people swear in game and online solicitations.
  13. It's all propaganda at the moment. There is absolutely no reason why Nintendo can't pull it off technically. They're playing all frumpy and hard to get just because the competitors are onto it. I bet the next gen Nintendo system will have all of the above. Or not, if they're REALLY that knuckleheaded about PC technology. I'm still waiting in anticipation as to whether the SSBB game replay will show the best players going at it.
  14. The SNES controller was way too flat for comfort, but I probably put the most amount of gaming time into it right behind the NES and Playstation controllers. Then again, Japanese are incredibly racist about these types of exclusive content. They typically answer to the request for it to be released in Western audiences with the typical "we only make these for Japanese". Doesn't the Japanese Virtual Console still have like 100 more games than the US's?
  15. I can honestly say that this is the musical effort Nintendo should've put forth YEARS ago. After all the relatively lousy redone MIDIs, this is the best Nintendo game soundtrack since F-Zero GX (mostly Sega on that one) for me.
  16. I just hope they can deliver the technical aspect so that it actually works. It sounds like a total pain to get it working smoothly. FPS games did it a full decade ago, but never in auto-broadcast.
  17. I know the game has just about zero chance for localization, but the one DS game I anticipate the most (yes, above FFTA2, FFXII Revenant and all those big names) is a soccer RPG game. it's called and it's developed by Level 5 which lives by its RPG creed (and underrated all around) and the music will feature Yasunori Mitsuda. And its voice acting includes Junko Takeuchi (Naruto) and other top notch voice actors. This could turn out to be one of the best sports RPGs ever released. And finally a really strange, PS2-esque super project under the radar.
  18. Put some Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in there. And those f'n Sharks.
  19. You understood the point. Congratulations.
  20. Are you implying the game is really that short? As for Sunshine, I agree with some people earlier on saying the game was better than expected. Then again, the camera in Sunshine was really, really bad. Legendarily bad. So that could have irked a lot of people.
  21. Chocolate Rain can only hope to do half as well with the sequels.
  22. Thanks for proving our point. As for 'told this much' part, I think they might be revealing too much. We went over that like... 100 pages ago.
  23. An update about handicaps? What now? Update about sound volume?
  24. Jeez. THREE taunts? And entire buttons assigned to the controllers for taunts only? I think they got a bit too zealous there. But I wish the rest of the game is extravagant and outlandish enough to justify it.
  25. Apparently it is not quite a great game but just a really good and almost-too ambitious. I'll still buy it because there hasn't been too many adventure/stealth games in a while. To me, that sounds like Bioshock with all its nagging faults but still ended up being a great experience.
