  1. Really? Or maybe it was the modification all the servers added, because they were in all the games I played.
  2. Female sexuality is just like male masculinity. Get over it.
  3. Well, the respawn timer was broken in the old game too. Like father, like son.
  4. They're trying to tease western gamers of any hope of Mother/Earthbound sequels. I think they are doing it on purpose.
  5. PSP sold 23.37 million? That's a pretty high number too. Especially since it seems like everyone owns a DS.
  6. I think the Needler is almost too powerful now. It tracks enemy automatically (even doing crazy 180 twists at times), it sticks onto the enemy AND it blows them up. I don't think it's grenade-power, but it almost always kills enemies, even the big brutes. And I thought Shotgun sniping was abused already in Metal Gear Online? That was so annoying. It doesn't make any sense to snipe someone with it..
  7. Kudos to that reporter. Even Kojima seemed taken aback and that says a lot more than I can. I'm just glad the original source was fleshed out and made public. Reminds me of the Michael Jackson/Sonic thing, but much, much more blatant. Then again, another great war themed soundtrack in Call of Duty outright plagiarized movie compositions too. Sometimes to a tee. Also, if this is a case against plagiarism, then it's a good one. Even Yoko Kanno, the great anime composer had her share of plagiarism accusations (mostly right, from listening to samples and comparing). It's good that the MGS and other composers found ways to remake it on their own style. Even if it's plagiarist. There's both some praise and blame to be had I think.
  8. I'm not happy with what they're doing to Advance Wars. It's following the rote path of making it more realistic while dumbing it down. Nothing was wrong with the anime style presentation.
  9. I have to disagree there. Surely you don't run like a train like you do in Quake or Doom, but that is the point. The shields aren't there to make you invulnerable or fly around, but to put more emphasis on hiding and strategically positioning yourself in Halo. It's like Gears of War style gameplay without the button that corresponds to hiding on corners. It wasn't meant to be too fast or too slow. I agree UT2k4 is a really good game and had a lot of new things, but for the console experience, Halo did a lot of things and even some innovative things. Such as integrated melee weaponry for all weapons, the shield/strategic equipments and etc. I play PC FPS games all the time but Halo still compares pretty favorably to me. It is basically its own experience as far as playing something on a console with a controller goes. If you compare something like Goldeneye to even something like FarCry, you can nitpick all you want about how overrated Goldeneye is and etc etc. But the point is moot because Goldeneye was a console game at the foremost. I always thought Halo games were in that same boat. If Halo was developed for a PC game, then they surely would have the requisite 64-player multiplayer maps and all those massive features for PC games. But after the very early years of Halo development, it was never intended to be a PC game.
  10. Singleplayer campaign could actually have been more epic and the story could've made sense, but it was always like that since the first game. The map pathing and story pacing just isn't as good as say, Half Life 2. I almost don't understand why people think the Halo story is 'the best ever', though I think it's well done for a FPS game. But it's still a bit too convoluted and they flesh out most of it in the novels, so it comes across as a bit strange. But the multiplayer, I can imagine myself playing it at least a few years down the line. The Sand Trap map is just too fun, lurching along with the Elephant. Or harassing it as an opposing team.
  11. U-571. The movie is no classic (though still very fun for a war movie IMO), but its music is just so memorable. So much so that many war movies and games have outright ripped off its basic music sample and made it their own.
  12. Mine too, but mostly cosmetic. Thank God it played. MADE IN CHINA.
  13. It's well made and actually pretty fun, but like with 99% of all JRPGs made recently, it's still a dumbed down version of the past versions. Sometimes a bit too easy that I came close to falling asleep. Also, if I wanted to play a dating sim, I'd rather play an actual dating sim with tearjerker stories and whatnot. The idea is intriguing in Persona, but it wasn't done too well. Too much silly repetition.
  14. Golden Sun? You mean that game with the most mangled Engrish in history of games? Do you mean game that? YES/NO.
  15. I really don't think any commercials measured up to the cheesiness of the Sega commercials. Especially those failed 32X, Sega CD, Sega Saturn and Dreamcast commercials. Because they made them look so great and cool (in a cheesy way of course), and yet most of them were just trash after the ridiculous success of the Genesis. Even though the Genesis commercials were mostly true..WHAT NINTENDONT... comparing Genesis to NES was unfair but still. And Japanese Sega commercials are more outrageous:
  16. Sounds great, except it may be continuing the trend of easy Zelda games.. Probably a buy even still.
  17. The Elephant is the most grossly large sized vehicle in FPS, ever. It's even bigger than the Leviathan/Ion-Cannon in Unreal Tournament 2K4. And its horn... wow... I sorta wish now that the game's limit was 32 players, because there's plenty of chances for epic battles with the Elephants now.
  18. I think the best bet is Walmart and Best Buy. Those types of megastores always stock 50+ games (or maybe even 100+ for Halo 3). Gamestop and EBgames has a small stock over the counter and they just are not reliable with big releases like this.
  19. I can picture myself looking at replays forever. Even in Halo 1, you could get away with the craziest kill moments. Halo 3 just seems to have way more opportunities for silly and stupid kills that comes out of nowhere.
  20. Considering Tri Ace is a veteran in real time RPG systems, I have confidence. It's not like the crapshoot effort that happened to stick with FFXII, even though a lot of things were broken in FFXII too.
  21. I guess it makes more sense for foreign, as in Canadian, markets. Over here, there's just an overabundance of good movies and music and they're always accessible. I watch mostly non-Hollywood stuff too and forget about the music which is mostly foreign and obscure at that. For the Hollywood stuff, it is annoying to go to theaters where kids always yell "THAT IS GAYYYY~~~" all the time. My ratio of buying them is about the same given that they are convenient to get or have some goodies attached (again, the only reason to even buy discs for me is to get the extras). With games, especially the short types that are worth a whim (typically most DS games), it's just easy to download for those I'm going to burn through and never play again. I still have like 25 DS games so that's not saying too much. Maybe it's just me, because I have a high tolerance of media types, more so than usual. So much so that I pretty much pirate out of principle because I can't possibly buy everything I'm interested in.
  22. Wow. I expected 8.0's or 8.5's types of reviews. It's like Bungie woke up after all the nerd backlash from Halo 2 reviews. I can't wait to play around with the camera system.
  23. Oh God, the hypocrisy of it all. For me, I pirate what I can get. DS games are so fucking easy to pirate it's amazing. Also, a lot of movies and music nowadays are worth the purchase on principle because a lot of them come from indy labels and have really good backstories on them. Also, if you're even remotely interested, then 'obtain' it, then that means you at least like it on some level. Then again, I pirate what I can get anyway. Thank god for flash drives for Nintendo handhelds.
  24. Neither? Because I don't really think the dislike for FF7 can be helped. I love the game but I can totally agree it was overhyped. But I don't demerit games on hype alone, but I can't say the same for everyone else.
  25. That trailer was just laughable. It had all the bad qualities of MGS2 then some. "I'M YOUR BIG MOMMA"
