  1. I know this is easier said, than done, but just do it! Take what you know so far, put something together, and listen to the feedback the community gives you. That's basically what I did for my Sonic 3D Blast remix (that somehow got YES'ed).

Are you trying to make original EDM, or some VGM remixes? If you're going for remixes, then you will definitely have to find a way to incorporate more melody into your EDM, or at least use original songs to do not have much of a melody.

I'm in a very similar boat, since I am trying to expand from chill/jazzy/hip-hop remixes. Ideally, I would like to be able to combine a bunch of different styles to make stuff that people don't really expect, but at the same time, I don't want it to sound like a mess.

Maybe get with remixers that have a style that you would like to learn, and see what they do. Even better, do a collab with them.

  2. LOL. I know exactly what you're talking about. I was looking at it yesterday at Dollar General too.

I was interested in it, but I already have a working Sega Genesis and an emulator on my compy. Also, the box seemed awfully light, as if there was nothing in there.

If you decide to get it, open it and check everything before you buy it. There's alot of craziness going on out there.

  3. It's not instantaneous respawn, it does take awhile, but the problem is it doesn't really wait long enough. Respawning enemies in areas are probably most noticeable in Old Haven, considering the enemies there are considerably more combat capable than the bandits you see in most of the game.

Ironically, this is what makes Old Haven one of the most fun "dungeons" of the game.

Nah man, the skags in skag gully respawn before I can even finish gathering up all of the dropped loot. I can't tell if they are respawning in a different area and just coming after me, or if they are respawning around my general location. All I know is, I get surrounded very soon after I cleared the area out.

Also, I've noticed skags randomly running off in different directions from time to time. Maybe the ones that run off come back to attack me? IDK...

It's not really as annoying now since my level is higher. They just scare the hell out of me when they attack from behind (damn surround sound speakers).

  4. Weird, never really had the instant respawn thing happen to me before. What's your Steam ID btw? Me and Flash Strife have been playing a little bit recently.

I don't have a Steam ID, unfortunately. I'm playing on the PS3. My old compy cant handle very many games (it barely plays Minecraft).

  5. So, I decided to get Borderland 1 first and see how I like it (and I love it), but I'm seeing some really retarded things happening in this game. When I clear a certain area of enemies, why in the hell do they suddenly respawn? Like, I totally clear out an area, and all of a sudden I'm completely surrounded again by a second wave of enemies and usually there is a "badass" that appears in the second wave. That shit kinda sucks when you're at a low level. I end up running my ass off just to find out that I'm running directly into yet another area full of enemies that I cleared out before.

On subject about accuracy problems: I'm also noticing some accuracy problems with sniper rifles (well, any scoped weapon). I tend to shoot straight through enemies and they take no damage, mostly when I'm going for a headshot. I understand that there is a certain accuracy threshold for each weapon, but if I take a shot, and see the bullet go straight through the enemy and hit the wall behind them, its frustrating. I've even seen it happen at close range with shotguns. If it's like that in single-player, I can't imagine how crazy it is when playing online.

I bitch about the game, but I still like it though. Will definitely be getting Borderlands 2 when I beat this one.

  6. I think I'm going to pick this up for the PS3 next week if I got some extra money. I've heard nothing but good stuff about this game.

Noob question: Do I need to play Borderlands first? Like, is there some sort of storyline that I should catch up with before I play this one?

  7. More like Tekken Tag Volleyball 2.

You're just trying to prevent your opponent from touching the ground. Dang, and I used to be a Tekken fan, but I'm just not feeling it anymore honestly.

DoA5 is looking a bit more impressive, but I'm still gonna give them both a shot. We'll see how it goes...

  8. It was a pretty good event, and 50 launch window games?? Whoa, that's nothing to sneeze at.

I'm probably going for the premium set, although I just hope that Nintendo Land comes in a proper case rather than one of those cardboard slips so I can display it properly.

But the TVii thing confuses me. The Wii U doesn't have a port for cable tv, so how on earth does it know what channels you have available? other than that, it looks really cool, but if Nintendo is so set on making the Wii U your entertainment center (so you never have to switch inputs to the TV again) then why didn't they spend the extra $15 and just put in a DVD player? I mean COME ON.

    LOL, a DVD player...

I think the Wii U will be taking what tv/video services you have (Netflix, Hulu, TiVo, HBO Plus...ect) and populating it's lists and organizing them into channels...or something. I wonder will they have something similar for music and radio.

The game line-up looks pretty cool so far. I'm just waiting to see what the next Mario Kart is going to look like.

  9. Damn, sorry about your friend man.

I've had my bouts with depression myself, but not that serious (well, I could at least, shake it most of the time). I have to admit, things have been crazy the past few months for me and my friends though. I have had the misfortune to hear about 2 attempts (one of which would have been a double murder/suicide) and I unknowingly stopped another one by just holding a normal conversation with a friend that I haven't spoken to in nearly 10 years. Sometimes all people need is someone to listen and show them love.

Thanks for posting this up man. I'll be sure to share it.
