  1. At the moment I'm writing a short score for my school's theatre production of Lord of the Flies. I've been asked to create a few tracks for openings of each act. I've just finished work on the first track's basic structure, sound and mixing. I'm going to be working on several other tracks over the course of the next few weeks. Feedback on the sound of the track and any little thing I could change would be very helpful at this stage. :3
  2. Hello OCRemix!! It has been WAY too long but I wanted to announce that Jeremy and I are officially at work on the fourth installment of the Cantata For Dancing. We're both VERY excited about this piece for many reasons. One reason in particular for me is that I've completely upgraded my hardware infrastructure and have installed a 64 bit OS on all my DAW's. I've also invested in new, higher quality sample libraries that will make the difference in this piece. As always Jeremy has put significant thought and energy into this piece of 12 and half minutes O.o We'll keep you posted as we progress through the production process. Thanks and get ready!! -Derek-
  3. A terra theme remix I really ended up getting into for a long time. there are some things i need to tweak but i needed to get the general idea out. Hopefully you guys can give some constructive feedback and help me fine tune this badboy so i can post it up for submission. Any Constructive and otherwise feedback is much appreciated! http://www.soundclick.com/player/single_player.cfm?songid=12077396&q=hi&newref=1
  4. Hi all, I'm a newcomer to remixing but I've been experimenting with video game MIDIs for some time now and wanted to post something I've made recently mainly to see how it can be improved. My remix is of the theme Cute Devil ~ Innocence from the Touhou series, specifically the game Lotus Land Story on the PC-98 computer system. I imagine there aren't too many people familiar with the series around here. In addition, it's probably too much of a cover to be considered a true remix so I'm not sure if such a mix would ever be considered for submission. Regardless I wanted to see what people think of the track and find out what can be done to improve it (I also wanted to confirm that it's too much of a cover to be submitted). Anyway, here's the source: It also incorporates some small parts from a track from a fangame of the series found here: I hope you enjoy.
  5. A friend of mine got me new, un-opened copies of FF X and X-2 last month and I've been enjoying the shit out of these games and their soundtracks immensely. Source: Work In Progress 2: https://soundcloud.com/angelcityoutlaw/ffx-2-give-ya-somethin-hot I'm trying to make this a more technical guitar recording than any I've done in the past, since I've gotten comfortable with recording stuff now. I have loads of ideas, melodies and sections I think I can add to it. In short, I think I'm actually going to finish this. Need real bass guitar though. It demands it. So yeah, any thoughts at all on how she's comin' along so far would be greatly appreciated. P.S. What the hell is the source tune actually called? I've saw it listed under 3 different titles online.
  6. This is something I made overnight, I have always wanted to remix this song and I was wondering if you guys could give me some tips/suggestions as this is my first song in this kind of genre. P.S. Yea I know, I kinda failed hard on the solo part https://soundcloud.com/silent-ice/comic-bakery-wip
  7. https://soundcloud.com/aires/air3s-eclipse Something I got outa practice hehe
  8. Hi Everyone I'm new here, and to videogame music, but thought I'd share some tracks I'm working on for an imaginary videogame called The Dying Knight. I'm hoping to make it a 12 track album. I've got the last 4 tracks over on Soundcloud here: https://soundcloud.com/childeherald/sets/the-dying-knight-music-for-an Anywho, it would be great to get your feedback and thoughts Thanks for listening! Adam
  9. https://soundcloud.com/wolfen150/okami-celestial-cavern-wip-3 I guess I don't really know what's expected. I just heard mau5cave by C418/deadmau5 and thought of Okami music so I started to make something. I just listened to it over and over, removing whatever I didn't like and adding whatever else I thought of. I'm at the point where I can't think of anything else to do with it. I actually got to this point a while ago, I just got cold feet about posting it here. Here goes nothing... It sounds real quiet though... Originals: "A Resolute Person" www.youtube.com/watch?v=8r4sHwqBHIM "Theme of Celestials" www.youtube.com/watch?v=TZ5D4lAZO0k something else I put in there: "Princess Mononoke" www.youtube.com/watch?v=yzEmsyQhHV0 Inspiration came from "mau5cave" https://soundcloud.com/fuckmylife/minecraft-03-c418-and-mau5
  10. https://soundcloud.com/shawnhughes91/ff8-fishermans-horizon-rock I posted this awhile ago. I had just listened and the mix was pretty harsh. Some of the playing could have been a bit better as well.. So I did it over. I'm sure the mix is a bit better but you guys could probably point me in the right direction. Thanks dudes.
  11. The original has always intimidated me so much. Perhaps it's because it's held in such high regard, maybe it's because it's such an awesome source to begin with or it could be because previously I dont think Genesis (the other half of DigiE) or myself ever quite figured out how to approach it. Now I'm already quite sure this raw attempt will raise quite a few eyebrows. Hopefully not too much dislike, though! The song seems to suffer from schizophrenia already, which is exactly why some feedback would be very helpful! One side of me thinks it may be a good thing since it's been remixed a lot, but not quite like this -- yet the other side thinks it may be too much, and it'd be better for it to have one (two, or three max) direction/s total. As it stands right now it has four/five music styles already in less than 2"30, which may be too crazy. Even for us. EQ still needs a lot of loving also. I hope you can help us get a more solid grip on this remix attempt! Thanks in advance for both listening and for getting back to us, if you do.
  12. Here's a little project that I started last year. I finally decided to get back to work on it. It is a remix of on of my favorite songs from Mario 64 with a little bit of "Bowser's Road" mixed in there. I still have alot of work to do with this but I would like to know what you think of it so far. Original: http://youtu.be/uqcPSbkS9TQ WIP: https://soundcloud.com/user7666413/mario-64-ad-lucem-wip
  13. Working on a solo piano arrangement of Dark World. Original: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_UCvWWym74s It's a piece with very little melodic material. The atmosphere however is great. There are also some interesting chords I tried to take advantage of. Went for a 6/8-mixed-with-4/4-style instead of plain 4/4. Tried expanding on the theme a bit, as it's quite short as well. WIP: https://soundcloud.com/zoned-music/moonlit-world-wip I record directly in a single take, so the playing is far from "perfect".
  14. There are no Midnight Resistance remixes on OCReMix - that's just not right! A month ago I'd never made any music on a computer before. 2 weeks ago, I did a straight cover of BGM 1 to try to learn the ropes (https://soundcloud.com/insin/midnight-resistance-bgm-1). Today, I still have an awful lot to learn about mixing and EQ (spot the compressor whacked on top of WIP 1 in an attempt to tame it! ), among other things... - tips and feedback much appreciated! Source: WIP 1: https://soundcloud.com/insin/midnight-resistance-bgm-1-remix-wip1 The LMMS project for this remix is available at https://github.com/insin/lmms/ if anyone wants to dig into it.
  15. http://soundcloud.com/aires/bomberman-hero-zip-air3s Will finish mix soon.
  16. Source: So, basically not sure what to do with the remix so far. I know the production sucks, but I'm talking arrangement wise. I plan to stick with my synths/guitars as I usually do, but that's as far ahead as I have planned. Perhaps some orchestra? Currently it's not much beyond an intro that goes off into some speed-metal kinda stuff. There is also no actual bass guitar as of yet. WIP 2: https://soundcloud.com/angelcityoutlaw/assassins-creed-remix-wip-ii WIP 3: https://soundcloud.com/angelcityoutlaw/assassins-creed-ii-remix-wip Any tips, comments and feedback in general is appreciated.
  17. Announcement trailer and preview medley for my upcoming album. Through the Prism was conceived as an alternate soundtrack for the 1939 film The Wizard of Oz.
  18. The Tal Tal Heights theme has always been a favourite of mine, the sense of courage it inspires is amazing, despite the fact it was being pumped from the tiny speaker of a gameboy. This is my first remix which I've been working on for a while now, and it's got to a point where I need some fresh ears to take a listen and see what else can be done with it. I'm particularly looking for feedback about the transition/drop section, at the moment I feel like it doesn't flow as well as it could and I'm unsure about what to do with it. Apart from that any feedback at all is welcomed and appreciated, so thank you if you do listen! https://soundcloud.com/awakening-link/scaling-the-heights
  19. Hey guys, This is a remix of the final battle theme of Lavos in Chrono Trigger. Done in a sort of Dubsteppy/2steppy Rustie-esque remix. With a flair of MachineDrum and UK Garage towards the end. Focussing on soaring and simple synths with 808 Drums. Im looking for some feedback on this. I feel the weird about the transition around 3.10. But im also not sure if any of the leadins towards the main beat are working. I have been working on this for abit to long, all I hear right now is just noise. So gimme some feedback.. Heres the original: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xpaJulksCik And the remix so far: http://soundcloud.com/tim_tim_tim_/madgonzo-revives-the-bits
  20. Hey guys. Looking for some comments and/or critique on a mix i'm trying to finish. It's a bit of a techno-ish remix of Phantasy Star Online's entry into the crater BGM from episode 4. I've been back and forth on it, trying to spice up each version and while I see the progress I don't see it where I want it to be. I'm also thinking the intro is maybe too long and the bass is too loud. Remix
  21. source: update (11/13): first draft: with this musical offering, masakazu sugimori thematically depicts the dualities that inhabit the courtrooms of phoenix wright. imagine this: the defense and prosecution are locked into a delicate tug-of-war between tenseness and composedness, while the gallery is subject to the silence within the storm. every step is carefully calculated and tread on thin ice; the judge exudes equanimity as his sway precariously sits under an unrelenting barrage of potentially convicting or potentially liberating evidence. lemme know if i had any success conveying those themes, or if i didn't. or whatever! peace.
  22. https://soundcloud.com/shawnhughes91/cor-caroli okay guys. Check this out. I don’t really write in this style too much. I was just trying to make a joke song with my 7 string, since I just started back using it, but I actually really like the way this clip turned out. It’s nothing serious. . Maybe a good intro or something if I ever start performing these. <3
  23. http://cyrilthewolf.tumblr.com/post/40073943021/if-you-dont-think-the-boss-battle-music-for-mega w/e Guitar sound good? I kinda like the tone. I don't come for feed back often but I've gotten so desensitized to what I did for this that I need a second op! Original:
  24. Hey guys, I did this for DoD at Magfest this year. Would like to improve on the mixing and stuff so if you have any comments I would really appreciate them! http://dougperrymusic.com/dodokamimaster.mp3 Vibes, marimba, glockenspiel, and recorder are played live, bass and synth are played via midi keyboard, guitar and drums sequenced!
  25. Remix: https://soundcloud.com/emunator/serenade-of-water-wip Source: Just a little sketch I came up with to test out some IDM techniques... Is this worth seeing through to completion or is the whole thing a little too out there/unnecessary? Source doesn't come in til after the intro but I've got ideas on how to work it into other parts of the song, too. Would love any opinions on this one. Thanks!
