Dear OCR community, I have a small Youtube channel which features VGM focused on old DOS or retro games (Lands of Lore, C. Keen, Major Stryker, etc., see this link). Since 2017 we (my buddy and I) have been working on a full album of original independent and alternative rock music Wuxpoint, and we have our debut album out today on all mainstream platforms. This album features invited independent artists, some instrumental tracks, and a mixture of influences like electronics, acid-jazz, funk and beyond. We heavily used iconic analog hardware devices (Mesa Boogie, Bogner, SSL 4000, Roland Space Echo, old Eventide units, etc.) throught all the production process, resulting in a "retro" sound. The Single preceding this album is currently on airplay on 9 community radios in 3 countries (US, FR, LUX). If you'd go for some VGM feeling, I'd suggest you first check the following tracks: A raindy day (ambient electro) Downtown trip (outrun-like, driving your car near the coastline with some twists) Uptown mystery (P&C mystery rock puzzle) Farewell (acid-jazz vibes, Keen stuff) Recycled minicycle (Boss fight in hardware mode, including different boss patterns) Enjoy it at the following links: 𝘚𝘱𝘰𝘵𝘪𝘧𝘺 https://open.spotify.com/artist/4lquyxfpbX8y75TuhJ9iV2 𝘋𝘦𝘦𝘻𝘦𝘳 https://www.deezer.com/fr/artist/156634612 𝘈𝘱𝘱𝘭𝘦 https://music.apple.com/fr/artist/wuxpoint/1603565072 𝘠𝘰𝘶𝘵𝘶𝘣𝘦 https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCnB-EzFSBR4od4werfrENqA Thanks dear OCR Community!

Hi all, I'm proud to announce that my latest album, "Metroid: Organ Transplants" has entered the final stage of video production and is about to be released on Youtube, ContreBombarde and as free downloadable CD/DVD images around the New Years Day. What started out as an "accidental recording", over the past two months has grown into a personal tribute to the most stunning orchestral OC remixes attributed to the Metroid franchise: My third orchestra+organ play-along album contains nine OC remixes by various artists, all of them in a similar style, as if the original composers would have had a silent agreement that, one day, these pieces were intended to be put together. The glue between all of the tracks is suggested by the album title — they're all enhanced and backed by a three-manuals French-Romantic Cavaillé-Coll pipe organ, which I added on top by playing along in two live sessions (yes, I love plays on words, hence the album title). This adds even more drama, gravity and a bunch of particular highlights. Since the additional pipe organ track was recorded in 7.1 surround, the original OC remixes, which served as the re-remixing basis, were also upgraded to 7.1 to fit the setup. The recording and mixing process, credits research, video material research, storybook and composition, album art, media production, etc. took about three months of spare-time work — definitely my most ambitious project so far and an interesting first contact with DAWs in general and Ardour 6 in particular. The album will be available for download via my discography at http://en.wpoa.de/WPOA-MOT as a stereo CD image, as a DVD image with both a 5.1 surround sound and a 2.0 stereo track including a full 45min video cut of Metroid gameplay, cutscenes and artwork created by other people on the web (let's call it "the movie cut"), in lossless FLAC format with 7.1 channels (the "golden master") and will be accompanied by PDFs with cover/inlay/label artwork, separately for both the CD and DVD, which I put together for personal hardcopies that I usually give away to friends and family as a gift. Track list: Putting Down On Zebes (by @Protricity, part of https://ocremix.org/album/3) Footprints On Zebes (by @Slimy, https://ocremix.org/remix/OCR03306) Kraid Begins (by @AJiLe, https://ocremix.org/remix/OCR01890) The Crimson Depths, (by @Sam Dillard, https://ocremix.org/remix/OCR02275) Into The Green World (by @Sam Dillard, https://ocremix.org/remix/OCR02515) Beyond The Glass (by @Sam Dillard, https://ocremix.org/remix/OCR02927) Mother Brain Suite (by @beckett007, https://ocremix.org/remix/OCR01675) The Galaxy Awaits (by @Nutritious, https://ocremix.org/remix/OCR01804) Mission Complete: Ending Suite (by @Sam Dillard, https://ocremix.org/remix/OCR02648) The following album teaser video is available on my channel. Once the release is prepared, this thread will be updated with the final link to the YouTube premiere of the full album video (stereo only, since YT still doesn't support surround sound in their audio tracks). I'm eager to know what you think about it -- and, hopefully, I'm going to meet at least some of the original remixers at the premiere! Hope you'll enjoy the show!

DDRKirby(ISQ) here with my latest original release, All in a Day's Work 5! One Hour Compo (better known simply as "OHC") is a weekly composition competition event hosted at http://compo.thasauce.net. The premise is simple: at a certain time each week, a theme is announced, and entrants are given exactly one hour to produce a song from scratch based on that theme. "All in a Day's Work 5" is the fifth installment in the "All in a Day's Work" series. The concept is the same as always: I've taken 24 songs that I've written for OHC and compiled them into a single album, literally the product of 24 hours of work. All 24 tracks are presented exactly as they were submitted for OHC without any post-editing. The album download includes a PDF full of detailed liner notes that you can check out for more info on each of the tracks! Download now from Bandcamp (pay what you want): https://ddrkirbyisq.bandcamp.com/album/all-in-a-days-work-5 Physical release also available!

Sup everyone! Super happy to announce that my Kickstarter-doublefunded anime soundtrack album, "Beyond Libra", has been released AND we're having a listening party tonight!! For those unfamiliar, this was an album of original music I wrote over the last 8 years, with lots of stylistic references to composers such as Yoko Kanno, Jo Hisaishi, and Yasunori Mitsuda. I collaborated with several OCR artists on this one, including Jeff Ball, DrumUltima, Jillian "Pixietricks" Aversa, Sixto, Finbeard, Harmony, Audiofidelity, XPRTNovice, Shrack, Snappleman, and Jose the Bronx Rican. We also had three different live choirs (The Philadelphia Boys Choir, The Yale Slavic Chorus, and a Nigerian vocal ensemble) and live orchestra, along with artwork by Keiiii and Star Wars artist Stephen Chang, so it was a gargantuan production across three continents. Kickstarter backers who opted for the digital release should have already received their copy via an emailed bandcamp code; Physical copies will be mailed off later today and tomorrow. The album is available at https://rogetmusic.bandcamp.com/album/beyond-libra for the full release with all our gorgeous disc art, and it'll be available on iTunes, Spotify, and several others soon as well. Listening party will be on Wednesday, March 9th (ie. today) at 10pm EST (7pm PST), courtesy of 8bitX: www.twitch.tv/8bitx Scott Porter (SeattleOvercoat) will host the show, and I'll answer questions and give behind-the-scenes anecdotes about the album's production. Sorry for the short notice, but I hope you guys can make it!
