Does anyone here play any instruments? I'm pretty okay on guitar and keys and I certainly wouldn't mind a jam session with some other game music enthusiast. Any particular games anyone is wanting to play?

I think just chilling afterward would be a better idea than seeing the new Batman movie (mainly because I have a feeling that will be impossible).

I play clarinet and saxophone, and I do a barely-passable job on the piano/keyboard. I don't plan on bringing any instruments though.

I'll play any game. I know how to play Euchre, though I rarely play and I'm not clear on some of the optional stuff that people like to use.

Do you mean getting an extra room? Because that depends on their availability, which they don't seem to lack at the moment.

Or do you mean just paying for the rooms that I've already reserved? No, there's no charge to pay that night, since the rooms are reserved under my credit card. I end up paying for them anyway at the price I was quoted. I am flexible enough to let you guys pay me that night, but everyone will have to pay me personally, i.e. cash.

I had set the date for the Wednesday before, in case we had any drop-outs and needed to cancel the room or make any changes before then, so that I wouldn't be charged for it. But, if there are changes made that Thursday or Friday, I will owe the balance on the rooms regardless. However, if anyone has money problems right now, I'm flexible enough to let you pay then.

There appear to only be three theaters in a 15-mile radius of where we're staying in Louisville that are showing The Dark Knight. The closest of these is the Cinema de Lux 20: Stonybrook, which is also showing the IMAX version of the film. According to their website, tickets are still available for the Saturday showtimes, though seating is limited. Tickets for the IMAX version cost $9.75, tickets for the regular version cost $6.50.

Well, if people are bringing their instruments with them and you guys feel like streetwalking, I say we do street performances after the concert. Guitar, saxophone, some keys, some vocals, and a little percussion sounds like a really fun street jam session.

Whether or not you guys go is up to you, I just know my girl and I -will- be seeing Batman on Saturday somewhere in Louisville. She's been waiting for this moving since Begins came out, and wants to see it hell or high water.

Also, I probably will wind up not bringing my guitar due to the fact that I'd have to bring an amp as well, and the only one I have suitable for that is a small practice amp that sounds like utter shit.

Yeah, gas in the Louisville area is like $3.65 per gallon right now. And if any of you want to stick around and do something else afterward (VGL lets out fairly late iirc), I'd be up for that.

I'm all for an IMAX Batman. also, I'm good cashwise to pay for hotel expenses night of. That's my personal preference, if it's cool with you. But I want you to be totally cool with it. I want no risk of anyone feeling like they're going to get shafted if they have to front money for people that can't reimburse properly.

Stonybrook is the best theater in the area (afaik), so we should just agree on a show time and get the tickets online as soon as possible, because every theater around is going to sell out.

Advanced tickets for Stonybrook can be purchased online or over the phone. There are showings for 12:45pm and 4:00pm during the afternoon. Tickets purchased through movies.com (the site which the Stonybrook website directs you to) can be printed out immediately after purchase and used at the theater. Tickets purchased over the phone have to be picked up at the ticket office, which could have a line waiting.

If needed, I can purchase the tickets and everyone can pay me the day of the show. However, not everyone here has stated if they want to see The Dark Knight. I would only buy tickets for everyone who has stated that they agree to seeing the IMAX version. So far, only nekofrog and BGC have expressed that interest.

BGC, that's cool with me, if you'd rather pay on the night of the concert. Anyone else who wants to pay the night of the concert can, but you'll have to tell me directly, otherwise I'll assume that you're using the PayPal page. And I'll nag you about the deadline.

As far as shirts go, Dave is sending me a few shirts and some stickers, so you guys can buy those from me at the meetup. I think 8 shirts should cover the group - but ASAP, like, tomorrow I need to know what sizes. I already know I need at least 2 mediums. Now then, regarding the initial actual meetup, Brian and I are going to be arriving in Louisville fairly early that afternoon, say, probably around 1-2pm. I recommend everyone should arrive as early as possible, but how do you guys feel about setting an official time of maybe 3 or 4? Input please.

As far as TDK goes, IMAX would be cool. I'm still trying to work out whether or not I'm going to mooch off some floor space or drive home and back for it (I'm going to try to get that figured out today though). I'm going to have to pay for the ticket on-site though, if that's not a huge problem.

If someone has Rock Band and wants to bring it, that would be swell. I understand if it's too much work, but Rock Band with OCR just kind of makes sense to me so I thought I'd throw it out there.

I shouldn't have any trouble meeting up at any specific time.

I walk the line between a medium or large t-shirt. The one I have on right now is a large, so let's go with that.
