Dafydd
(To the staff: move this to another forum if it doesn't belong here. If this whole thing conflicts with the content policy in any way, please tell me in what way and how to address this.) Hey guys I recently got myself new web hosting and would like your help to test it. I have uploaded nearly all OCRemixes to it, except 1701-1800 (I'm waiting for the new torrent). The server is located in Germany, so transfer speeds should be better for European users (than for US ones and than what European users typically get from the US servers). If you want to help out but would rather download something else, please read the edit at the bottom of this post. Please grab one or two mixes, whichever ones you like, even if you already have them, and tell me What country you're downloading from What download speed you're getting What download speed you typically get from OCR's official mirrors. Thanks for your help! OCR MIRROR LINK EDIT: Some people have reported the download speed "accelerates" as they download. I have uploaded a larger file (a zipped album of free music made by a few friends of mine) that you can try downloading instead: Stay Ali - Music for Men. Let it finish and listen to the music, or cancel the download once the download speed appears to have stopped "accelerating". If the download stops somewhere halfway, let me know! Dafydd
Thanks. For reference, here's mine: 1. Sweden 2. About 380 3. About 170 For the large file, it keeps changing between 300-900.

Dafydd
Thanks. I'd appreciate some more Euro people for comparison. I think it's weird that most people seem to be getting the same speeds from both - the difference is huge for me.
Ajax
I think it's weird that most people seem to be getting the same speeds from both - the difference is huge for me. Maybe its because your country has imposed some sort of duty tax on the importation of bandwidth from certain countries...
Torzelan
At work: 1. Sweden (Norrland) 2. Can't tell, constantly and quickly ticking upwards but at ~800kbps the 6 megs are done. 3. Haven't tried much at work but as far as I know it varies a lot. At home: Same story as above except it accelerates slower so it's at ~700kbps by the time it's downloaded. StarZander
At work: 1. Sweden 2. 2,2 mb/s 3. 450 kb/s Haven't tried at home yet, but those right there are good speeds. Great with another mirror!
Dafydd
Thanks for helping me out. I've uploaded a bigger file for those of you who get accelerating speeds, so you can get a more accurate value.
The Damned
My download of the larger file yielded this: Top speed was 340 Average as 300 Time to complete download was 6 minutes
StarZander
I tried the bigger file as well, but with annoying results. This time it had time to climb, but it just kept on climbing and it would probably have gone higher if it had been an even bigger file. 1. Sweden 2. 2,6 mb/s 3. 620 kb/s (just tried a couple of ocr mirrors)
Dafydd
Stupid internetz. Is there anyone outside of Sweden getting climbing speeds, or it just we?

Dafydd
I'm on 10Mbps so I won't get any better than that, but I'd be nice to know what someone with 50 or 100Mbps would get...
jayc4life
What country you're downloading from : Ireland What download speed you're getting : ~135kb/s, but topped out to 150kb/s just before completition What download speed you typically get from OCR's official mirrors : from ocmirror.org it floats around 105kb/s but slowed down to 99 around the last quarter On a 36Mbps wireless connection if that helps you out as well. Dafydd
For 36Mbps wireless that's still a pretty awful download speed. I'm guessing whatever the other end of the wireless connection is is to blame for that though. At least you're getting better speed from mine. jayc4life
Well my broadband package is 3Mb, but it doesn't help either that my sister was on the same connection downloading about 3 or 4 torrents >_>
Adun The Untouchable
USA/New York ~500 Between 500 and 1000. Files are too small XD. My max is ~1100 total.
Dafydd
The big file shouldn't be too small. Thanks for testing!
