Nabeel Ansari
That's a great arrangement right there, I'm really liking the intro. XD I can't really see much difference, I was only skimming it for obvious differences. Sorry, but I can tell you you have something good. Soul Splint
I'm gonna agree with neblixsaber, I really couldn't tell a difference between the two. Either way, that's some pretty epic stuff going on. Nice work.
LITHE
go with #2. I listend to both on my adam a7's and the second one sounds a little more "full". interesting mix btw. i like it!
Sweendrix
There is just a slight difference between the 3-8 khz frequencies...wondering if to much is too harsh... Sweendrix
Thanks for the listen...I'll take your advice...still a little work to go on it...well...at least on part 2... go with #2. That's why you never say "Final Mix before submission." You never know when something could sound better. If everyone says it sounds good, then you can submit, but never be sure that you're done till you're done.
KieranCarden
I can't really hear a difference between the two either, but I really like it! I've had it repeating for a good hour or so now. Definitely some epic stuff XD
Sweendrix
Which one did you have repeating for an hour? lol...thanks for the listen. ) I can't really hear a difference between the two either, but I really like it! KieranCarden
It was the second mix I had playing for an hour. I listened to the first one a couple times before that though too. I really hope this gets approved when you submit it... I'm still listening to it
Mordi
Great tune, this. One little nibble though; it sounded like you used the actual tune itself (the one from the announcement trailer?) in the part where it enters "Unforgotten". I don't like the idea of that, but it did sound good here!
Sweendrix
Thanks for the heads up...I think i'm going to use it as my submission for part 1 of this two part Halo Remix...the second is a much softer cleaner take on the music. It was the second mix I had playing for an hour. I listened to the first one a couple times before that though too.I really hope this gets approved when you submit it... Sinewav
Wow. This is absolutely wicked. I could do without the quotes personally, but they don't really hurt the song either. The clean guitar riff reminds me a lot of Pink Floyd, which of course is, a good thing.
Sweendrix
I've been toying around with the mix a little bit...trying to find that "sweet spot"...this one has a little more beef in the rythm section....let me know what you think...I have shitty monitors so...ya know... every bit helps... http://ocrwip.fireslash.net/?fid=
jabond23
This is definitely coming along very nicely.
Sweendrix
I used bits and pieces of it actually and tied it together with guitar harmonies written on top of the announcement trailer music... Great tune, this. One little nibble though; it sounded like you used the actual tune itself (the one from the announcement trailer?) in the part where it enters "Unforgotten". I don't like the idea of that, but it did sound good here!

It would sound good though if you toned down the rhythm somewhere between the level it was at, and the level it is now. the rhythm in the latest version is a little overpowering... Rozovian
I'm no fan of voice clips in music, so you get no points from me for the intro. It does sneak up on you, the music, so i guess it's a successful intro. Not sure how liked it'll be. Same with the later voice clips. Yeah, you could give the drums a little more punch. Those pretty clear tom-like drums feel a bit weak. Might also be too panned. I'm wondering if this is too liberal. It certainly sounds like Halo all the time, but most of the time I can't recognize any source. I'm wondering what this is made of, what's in it, since I can mostly just hear guitar+drums. Feels pretty empty like that. I don't find it dynamically interesting either, the changes are pretty slow and the drums make it all just sounds like variations on the same dynamic level. More variation in the drums should solve that. Fading out makes the whole thing sound incomplete. Not really because of it being faded out, but rather because there was no clear high point to fade from. It steps down one step from the bulk of the track, stays on that level, and then fades. Feels like it doesn't have an interesting enough dynamic structure. For that high point, you might need more than just some variations on the drum patterns. Nicely put together, it's long and ambitious, tho perhaps a little too much so. It also suffers a bit from repetition, perhaps you could cut some length to make it more compact. In any case, good luck with it.
Sweendrix
I think this is gonna be the final version...let me know if it's good for that... special surprise ending for you guys... http://ocrwip.fireslash.net/?fid=
Sweendrix
The reason that you are having a hard time having the source...at least the source "unforgotten" from the Halo Menu...is because on the original game it was a very soft and inspired passage, and here...it is very powerful and driving... Original Unforgotten can be heard here... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UftDL-TF_6A My reworked version of this song...starts at 4:34 and continues through 6:04 http://ocrwip.fireslash.net/?fid=224 - I have also tweaked the melody with harmonies and rythm... "OVERCLOCKED" implies pushing to the limits...I'm not trying to copy halo...I'm trying to expand upon it... I'm no fan of voice clips in music, so you get no points from me for the intro. I like the new version. its the best version yet! only little complaint is at 7:05, that little tune at the end is too quiet for too long. I say rase the volume on it a bit, and have it fade out from there.

I dont think I have any complaints on this one. personally I like the length of the track. I feel like a lot of songs these days are too short. though I say wait to see what more OC ReMixers say about it. it does seem like people arent really fans of the quotes though. personally they dont bother me, but you might want to make a version without the quotes and see which one people perfer.
