  1. Sweet track! This could totally be an old MoN track from twenty years ago.
  2. I've usually been checking this thread for info on submissions currently in the judging process, but it seems they've stopped updating it. Is there some place I don't know about where this can be checked?
  3. This is an OCRemix classic! Used to listen to this a lot back in the day.

Checked it out on Bandcamp. Pretty cool! It's reminiscent of a module-based sound (.xm, .mod), which is nice. Interesting to hear that you've recently been getting into soundtrack work. I have that same itch, so I can definitely relate. By the way, I used to listen to your stuff way before I got into remixing. Slick Rippin' Keen among others. Really nice tunes.
  5. Cool tune! The instrumentation is just like a Drax-mod or a WAVE-mod. Maybe he used one as a template? Pretty cool either way.
  6. If you're still interested, here are the chords: This is what I used as reference when I recorded it. The top row is the chord, the bottom row is the bass note you should use. You can hear it better in this über-chilled version of the track (it's just the guitar tracks): .mp3
  7. Have you considered adding a tambourine? Also, here's a nice free orchestral library which has some alright percussion in it: This is a pretty cool idea, and it sounds pretty nice. Should be a great addition to the site once you've polished it.
  8. Your album art reminds me of Time Exposure by Stanley Clarke. As for the sound, I think the lead instruments are too pronounced compared to the drums and bass. The reverb sounds like a small garage, and there is maybe too much? The arrangement is alright, but the sound leaves something to be desired. Just my two cents.
  9. Great to hear that someone is enjoying what I made. Thanks, Garrett!
  10. This sounds really good! Also, surprised not to have seen this done before. Great idea. Kickass sound!
  11. Sounds cool, but the levels on the drums are a bit off IMO. The crashes are loud, but the rest of the drums are really quiet. Also, the source is very hidden - but that is not necessarily a bad thing. It's still a pretty cool tune though!
  12. nelward = Quality stuff. Cool tune! It's more relaxed than what I'm used to from him.
  13. How about I call it Seagull Sonata? Even though it's not a sonata... Edit: Thanks for the feedback, everyone in this thread.
  14. Thanks! Does anyone have suggestions for a name? I was about to submit it now, but I have no idea what to call it... Could be tied into my other DKC remix, "A Hint of Blue" maybe.
  15. Great stuff. Not familiar with the source, but I like the instruments used - and how the bass keeps moving. Excellent sound. Weirdly, I would assume the bass might be real and that the violin part were "faked" if it were not for the text!
  16. I visit OCRemix every once in a while, and today it occurred to me that it would be pretty sweet - for me personally - to have a little play-button next to each entry in the small list on the right hand side of the frontpage. It could even continue playing down the list as the songs finish. Maybe this would discourage people from discovering the written text about each song? I don't know. Just throwing this out there. I'll let you guys decide whether or not it's a good idea.
  17. I think it's finished. I think I'll submit it to OCRemix today or tomorrow. Edit: Finally submitted, as "Seagull Sonata"
  18. I love the original tune. Your take on it is pretty cool. Mixing in the original elements in a good way. Pretty nice balance.
  19. Quite well done. Good sonic balance. Not very familiar with the source, but must have heard it at some point. Big fan of Rom di Prisco's NFS-tracks.
  20. Soundcloud Link: Stickerbush Symphony WIP I tried to keep it mostly acoustic, but ended up adding a bunch of stuff as usual. I think of this as mostly finished, except for tweaks to the sound and redoing/adding some of the elements at the end, when it sort of takes off. Source tune here, for reference:
  21. Did an update to this. Leads are more completely. Tune is taking form. Might just scrap the vocals next time. Maybe use them for another tune.
  22. Source: Remix (wip): Vocals are a bit out of place. It'll probably either end up being without vocals, or have the arrangement completely changed to fit with the usual verse, refrain, verse setup.
