Car rental isn't that expensive is it? I'm sure it'd be possible to get people to chip in. Incidentally, my AMEX card gives me automatic auto insurance on rental cars, although I might have to be eligible to drive for me to help out in that way.

If you want to give me a ride, I don't see why I shouldn't chip in whatever my ratio of capacity would be.

Well, I'm thinking of booking rooms in the next week or so - if you and Vinnie want, I'd be willing to split a room 50/50 (half for both of you two, half for me) if you want to make things doable. Granted, it'll possibly be cheaper to find a room without me, as I'm shopping around on American Express - I'm thinking of August 12 - 19th for me. If you're up for it and agree on the room to search for, I'm all up for it!

That's very generous of you, though I would be fine splitting it 3 ways to be fair ^_^

However I don't think I'll have a definite answer on whether I'll go just yet. I will probably be considering this over the next few months.

Also, I'd love to see a Cirque du Soleil show. My sister told me she's been trying to see O for years but it's always booked way in advance.

I'm pretty sure I can make it (no Mexico, though). I just need to see when my fall semester starts. I believe it starts the week after this happens. I plan to hitch a ride with starla and co. and stay with my sister. I'm also not into strip clubs, gambling, drinking, etc., but I don't mind hanging out with people who do want to gamble. Woo, cheapest trip evar, ftw.

EDIT: I've stayed at Harrah's a bunch of times and find it to be a great mid-range hotel and a step up from Imperial Palace. They're right next door to each other so if some of you wanted to stay at IP and some of you wanted to stay at Harrah's, hooking up wouldn't be much of a problem. If you'd really like to go all out there is MGM Grand (where I've also stayed at least half a dozen times) and Bellagio.

...How does that address my point? Are you that dumb?

What he's saying is, if you want to walk around and frivolously throw around money, go for it, but not everyone can, nor do we have to to enjoy ourselves :3

i'm thinkin of goin but i'm definitely into strip clubs, gambling, drinking and HANGOVERWTFIDONTREMEMBERWHATHAPPENSSTAYS in vegas and i don't wanna be doin it all alone

The strip club was the best part when we went imho. <3

Dude you'd better best be better best be coming!

Also stop by in AZ and friggin come to MEXICO :D

We are gonna friggin PARTY and BOY YOU KNOW IT!

Also, like I said before... You can have a great time in Vegas for pennies. Really, if you know how to work the place, you can have a great time and spend less than 100 dollars.

The last three times Ari and I went, we probably spent 200 dollars tops, and that includes hotel stay.

Yeah but considering some of the things mentioned, such as shows (easily cost ~$100 per person per show), strip club, gambling, flights (for some) etc. - easily dwarfs hotel room costs. I already did rough budgeting, and hotel rooming is potentially 1/5th (being overly generous in possible stuff I might be spending on, especially gambling) of what I'm setting aside as expenditures. Also it's not like I'd not be getting a deal, as I get a free room upgrade amongst other things that add up to $450+.

In short, I think it's pretty dumb to not pay that extra for comfort, or at the very least display that level of absurdity that Neko is :-? .

I've been to Harrah's as well. It's a pretty good place if you're looking to stay at a casino. I also don't mind hanging out in casinos with those who wanna gamble, so if we all chill at a casino or something, I'll be down.

Yeah but considering some of the things mentioned, such as shows (easily cost ~$100 per person per show), strip club, gambling, flights (for some) etc. - easily dwarfs hotel room costs.

To clarify a few things, let me break down some stuff:

100 dollars on hotel for four nights (and that was us having our own room)

40 on one nice dinner (We went to the Emeril Restaurant with a coupon)

30 on half-price buffets and breakfast deals (and the 3 dollar steak and eggs deals, etc.)

30 dollars on gas for us to get there.

I'm not counting gambling because that is optional, and we always end up leaving in the positive there anyway (we've paid for our Vegas trips before from winnings)

Ari and I also saw our shows for free because we did a Time Share tour. They paid for over 200 dollars worth of stuff for us.

You can get into some strip clubs for free, or nicer ones for smaller fees, it really depends on the club.

If you look online for deals and in the newspapers in Vegas for deals (or buy a coupon book) you can really save a lot of cash. Basically Ari and I bought a coupon book that more than paid for itself (and also gave people at the last meetup some discounts as well)

Anyway, my point is, you can have fun in Vegas for little money, or you can spend a lot, it doesn't matter. But what does matter to me is that as many people can have a great time, regardless of how much money they have. Long came to the last meetup with next to nothing and still had a great time, it can be done... We all just have to work together. Ari is going to be looking for hotel deals, we still have MONTHS before we need to figure out where we are staying, so lets not all jump the gun. PEACE AND CHILL YA'LL!

We got into the strip club we went to for $10 (normally $40) and all the drinks we free (coke, water, gatorade. No alcohol because it's 18+, but it was a nice place)
