sephfire
I'll be spending most of the time begging for a job, but it'd be cool to say hi if anyone else is there.

The Pezman
Can anyone go if they shell out the monies?
prophetik music
it's probably not that interesting to someone who's just an appreciator. it's more of a development conference than it is 'HOSHITS DJP'.
Meteo Xavier
Is the GDC private or is it one of those things thats public with a fee?
zircon
It's open to the public but costs quite a bit even for a super-basic pass. it starts at 200 or so and reaches nearly 2k. Also its more for pros and aspiring pros, not consumers. (on the tarmac in Denver atm)

The Pezman
it's probably not that interesting to someone who's just an appreciator. Also its more for pros and aspiring pros, not consumers. Well, I am working for a game company. A couple of my co-workers are going... say hi if you see them. But I don't really mind not going. Besides PAX, I have a different conference I may be presenting at that I hope will be very interesting.
prophetik music
according to the staff list, you don't have fun, guys. i'll almost certainly be there next year, since depending on funding we'll be either be gold or close to it with the current project Novo's working on. Malaki-LEGEND.sys
I wonder what the main topics are gonna be this year? Please no more of this "Japanese development is stagnating. We need to adopt the standards of the holy grail that is Western development" shtick. Maybe Miyamoto will talk more on how his current project was inspired by watching small rodents. I'm always interested to see what devs and other pros have to say about the industry. Wish I could go. Have fun, gang.
zircon
GDC is almost entirely a Western conference... some Japanese studios come but almost everything revolves around US + Europe. Miyamoto definitely won't be there. AFAIK he's never been here. Also: Writing this from our motel! Jimmy, Jill and I made it in safely. We're about to grab some food and pick up our badges.
