Brandon Strader
The fat coward is hilarious. He's standing there with a sword and doesn't even swing it. If I was there I'd be like, yo, you've played Baseball before right? Just try that. Swing the dang thing and hit someone with it.
Flare4War
Yeah Samwell's story is basically the tale of a craven but it does get interesting.
Brithor
Just finished watching the first 4 episodes. Not having even heard about the books 'till now I must say I've thoroughly enjoyed this series. Can't wait for Sunday's episode.
Hawkwing
Very satisfied to see Sam's character present, and it seems to be spot on so far. He's one of my favorite non-main characters.

Flare4War
the books blow the series to pieces, even though the rendition is excellent (the Imp is particularly well done, i think). definitely worth a read. Yeah, it's true. In truth it really has been an excellent adaption. Probably my biggest qualm so far is the way Theon Greyjoy is being portrayed in the series versus the books. On HBO he's being portrayed as sort of an insolent, creepy, discontented person. In the books he is portrayed as this ruggedly handsome but somewhat crude ladies man, that is actually shockingly loyal to Eddard Stark, considering he is his captive. He really doesn't have any problems with Robb, either. They enjoy one another it always seemed like to me. I won't say more because I don't want to throw out spoilers but... That would have been an easy thing to not mess up.
OceansAndrew
Yeah, it's true.ruggedly handsome but somewhat crude ladies man my schedule didn't quite fit with HBO's, so they had to recast Theon. I guess the new guy was creepy and not as ruggedly handsome, so they decided to change the character a little bit more to be closer to the events of book 3. Monobrow
So yay things are starting to pick up, and they are doing a really good job. Cersie's talk with Robert was great.
Flare4War
Indeed. Things were a little faster paced in episode 5. I was glad to see them go back to the Hands tournament and show the joust between the Knight of Flowers and The Mountain. After the quick glimpse of the tournament we saw in the previous episode I figured they had cut it out. Sword fight between Jamie and Eddard was awesome. Brithor
So yeah... I'm liking this more and more. I guess I'm gonna have to read the books now.
Monobrow
It can really only get better from here. There's still so much to cover, and the crazy shit is about to go down.
Flare4War
Jon should be getting Longclaw pretty soon and I like the way they are showing the friendship between Tyrion and Bronn developing. Very accurate to the books.
Flare4War
This week's episode is really good. My only question is: Why aren't we seeing Jon Snow for two episodes in a row? Edited May 24, 2011 by Flare4War
DarkeSword
They should make a show just about Jon Snow. They can call it the Snow Show.

My only question is: Why aren't we seeing Jon Snow for two episodes in a row? the books are similar - you go entire books without seeing major characters because everyone's so spread out. prophetik music
OR A DRAGON. speaking of that, my wife gets pissy because of all the graphic sex scenes and nudity, and rightly so - there's a lot of it! i don't suppose there's plans for a standard TV version of the show, is there? Not that I'm aware of. Eventually they sold the rights for a content diluted version of the Sapranos though, so anything could happen. There is a lot of it but HBO actually isn't adding a bunch extra to the series like people might think. The books have quite a bit of sex in them and tons of references to nudity. DarkeSword
Practically nothing is sacred in the books. Taking the themes of the show into account, you probably couldn't do a "standard TV" version.
Sixto
The sex scenes are some of my favorite parts! They help make the show seem so raw and violent along with all the rawness and violence.

Taking the themes of the show into account, you probably couldn't do a "standard TV" version. you're likely right. it's not like i haven't read the books or something - i'm on my third read-through now in preparation for the next book - but i can't exactly sit down with my wife and watch some whore get pounded from behind every single show. she doesn't want me to watch them at all right now =( which is unfortunate, because they're actually pretty sweet when there's not tits everywhere. It's not like it's hardcore porn or anything. My girlfriend has no issue with them. Are other guys finding it hard to get their significant others to watch shows like this? Brandon Strader
I wonder if I've seen the same show as you people. There was a lot of nudity in the first episode but it has really dropped since then, and there really isn't much action or gore either.. I must need to catch up on the last couple episodes but this show is no "Spartacus" XD
