Shout out to ocremix.org during VGL at E3

Hey, just went to Video Games Live at E3 last night. OCRemix.org got a shout out during the concert - it got roughly a minute or two of attention from Tommy Tallarico on stage in front of... roughly 6000+ people? The Nokia Theatre was nearly full, so... yeah, about that much.

Fucking awesome. OCR is getting more and more attention, it seems.

The cheer they gave was pretty sweet, not to mention numerous people coming up and talking to analoq and I about the site. Pretty darn cool.

Tommy usually gives the site a shoutout -- I was at a performance once where they were choosing someone to play Space Invaders, and he mentioned that I was probably overqualified to play based on my OCR hoodie.

A shame, because those MAME cabinets they give as prizes look badass.

They do play OCR music in the halls as well. When we had a big OCR group down in Louisville a few summers ago, they had a presentation with OCR reps up on stage too.

I was the hands clapping practically at the front of the stage, in the pit lol. But yeah that shout out was pretty legit, same for the fanfare that followed.

In Paris, Tommy Tallarico gave a DVD full of OC Remixes to the winner of the Frogger game during the concert. He talk about OCR for about 10 sec, but it was cool!

Don't worry, same thing's happened to NGI so far. He is a ridiculously busy man, though.

Last night's show was my first time at Video Games Live, and it was worth it. I stood in line for 2 hours to talk to all of the guests (for like 2 seconds each, but still) and I'm still reeling from being starstruck. When you have Tommy Tallarico, Chris Huelsbeck, Kinuyo Yamashita, Christopher Tin, Akira Yamaoka, Frank Klepacki, Gerard Marino, and even HIP FREAKIN TANAKA all in one place, you know that it's a very special night.
