Nonamer Posted January 24, 2012 Posted January 24, 2012 Back when I was about eleven or twelve years old, my parents got a DVD called Animusic. We sat down to watch it, and I was blown away with how amazing the graphics and the songs were. This was around 2003 btw, so back then this was high-res stuff. I was especially amazed when I found out it was basically made by two guys. Looking back, the synths they used are decent (all instruments were MIDI), but for me the visuals and the music still take me back, even in this age of 1080p. I recently bought Animusic 2, which is phenomenal in my book. Any thoughts on this? Some examples of their work: Resonant Chamber: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bGUQieY5jGA Harmonic Voltage: Pipe Dream: Quote
Gollgagh Posted January 24, 2012 Posted January 24, 2012 oh man, I freaking loved these things when they came out Quote
mk_97 Posted January 24, 2012 Posted January 24, 2012 Pipe Dream is still mindblowing after all these years!!! It's my favorite next to Aqua Harp. Quote
Rapidkirby3k Posted January 24, 2012 Posted January 24, 2012 Oh, you know I love Animusic! =D I came across Animusic by watching its commercial on television one morning, so I went ahead and bought two DVDs and the Blu-Ray. Gotta love that Pipe Dream! Quote
Chernabogue Posted January 24, 2012 Posted January 24, 2012 This is freaking amazing. Thanks for sharing! Quote
drake7707 Posted January 24, 2012 Posted January 24, 2012 I remember Pipe Dream being a demo for my ATI card, in fact, it appears the demo is still available on http://developer.amd.com/archive/legacydemos/pages/ATIRadeon9700Real-TimeDemos.aspx Quote
HoopyFrood Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 I have both the DVDs and the soundtracks. (not to mention that I re-bought the first DVD when it got a special edition AND re-bought them again when I loaned them out and never got them back. ) Still might want to get the Blu-ray and I can't wait for the 3'rd to come out. My fav pieces are probably the more acoustic ones(Acoustic Curves, Aqua Harp, Resonent Chamber) though I like Stick Figures and Cathedral Pictures. Still want him to do an animation based on The Harvester(one of the tracks on the first CD). Quote
Nonamer Posted August 9, 2012 Author Posted August 9, 2012 Bumped because holy crap Animusic 3! http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2040578790/animusic-3-dvd?ref=card Quote
Ryan Jobson Posted August 11, 2012 Posted August 11, 2012 Nice!!! I think this is such a cool project with musicians and artists collaborating and really getting creative. I definitely hope this continues to the point of Animusic 10! Quote
HoopyFrood Posted August 30, 2012 Posted August 30, 2012 Last 5 days of the Kickstarter and less then 10k to go. Also they added a sample track to their soundcloud and a Blu ray disc option. Quote
LuckyXIII Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 I had never heard of this before but I know I would've loved it back in the day. I think I might get these for my niece for Christmas or something. Quote
