mecca
Always has, and always will be my favourite remix. Perhaps its the journey this piece takes us on, the transcendance down the rabbit hole to a wonderland, the sensitivity of the bells complemented by the melodic but consistent beat or the switch to another direction at 1:53, but either way, this song deserves every piece of appreciation it gets. I could watch the Windows media visualisation for this theme over and over. Congratulations, Wingless, you have touched a nerve.
kaip
This was the first mix I downloaded when I came to OCRemix which would have been back in late 2002. I heard this and was instantly hooked. The Wingless has done an amazing job. The mood, the dynamics, the enthrallment... Such masterful execution deserves the highest of praises. Beautiful! PCJanus
I felt this piece was very well done, perhaps the best MP3 on the site yet! Only regret, that it's not longer . But really, awesome stuff, congrats!
Paladin R
Occasionally I'll hear a composition that stirs my soul, causing it to reach up to the heavens to take in the enchanting light of creation...this is one of those pieces. Bummer
This is what I love with Wingless's remixes, a very dreamy piano that plays as many keys as possible in an echoing hall. It makes me think of the water Shrine in the game since it almost sounds how waterdrops falls through the air and hits the water's surface. There are some beats that makes this sound more tough, but that's mostly during a small period if time. This remix suits perfectly to lie in bed and just try to relax. Fabulous work, Wing. sonicbhoc
It's addicting... like videogames, but worse. It's a seriously awesome remix! good work Wingless, I look foreward to your next remix! Now I wanna play this game... but I don't have it. This is one of my favorite remixes, and your attention to detail is freakin' awesome. How long did it take you to make this!? Audity
Or wait for Revolution (possibly), or buy an SNES. Much better experience, being one of the better SNES games anyway....mainly cause of the musiccccc. May start out poop game but it gets better as you travel to many places and get to travel the world. For the remix I used to love Wingless stuff but somehow most of their appeal has gone away (most of them became too quiet and monotonous to my ears, even his Silent Hill one, which I still think is good compositionally, but I guess my ear have started to move i mean suck, to put the blame on myself). THIS mix however is still way good because of the chord progressions teamed up with the more complex-sounding piano (as I say this from memory). Has the feeling of Secret of Mana without sounding directly like the source tune, yet still derived perfectly.
MasamuneX
This makes for some *excellent* studying music, IMO and that's saying alot. I'm personally very picky about what music to play while studying. But to be more specific, the song has a cool feel to it at the start, like an ocean as the name implies. The piano is beautifully done and the orchestra sounds that are brought in shortly after really back the piano up in a B-E-A-utiful way. But then the steady beat comes in, strong but not forceful. It walks the line of extra and essential nicely, forging room for the rest of the song to expand an conform around itself into new ways. If you listen closely to the way the piano and other instruments are brought in, reverberated and tweeked, you can almost visualize yourself being brought to different depths of the ocean. Songs like this are a rarity, and this especially should be listened to in the dark with your good headphones on and your eyes shut. The feeling is just so much more heightened and you really come to appreciate the song more and more. My only complaint is the length. While I realize that lengthening a song like this would probably bring too much repetition, I still wish it were longer. Overall, 9/10 and a gold star! 42
ooOOoo, shiny. And sparkley too. This is the anthem for stargazing. None of that fancy shmancy looking through a telescope junk, but lying on one's back on a hill on a cool, clear summer night and imagining the infinite. Great mix and great job. OceansAndrew
Really nice textures. The levels stay pretty similar throughout, but the song breathes based on the number of textures going on. I really like all the different poly rhythms in the piano and bells, and though the ending is a bit too abrupt, this is a great track to loop. Strong showing by The Wingless!
