Sole Signal Posted April 11, 2007 Posted April 11, 2007 I accidentally corrupted one my older WIPs of the the Ocean Palace theme, so I wanted to get the foundation put back together so I wouldn't forget the feel I had going. I'm kinda glad it forced me to start from scratch, cause' it turned out much better: It's weird how quickly this formed (probably took an hour); the song pretty much wrote itself after the intro. Comments are welcome. EDIT: UPDATE 8/20/07 http://www.silverlinestudios.net/Mp3's/audix_oceanpalaceWIP.mp3 Quote
avaris Posted April 11, 2007 Posted April 11, 2007 Haha sweet if I think your style is tailored made for this theme. I'm really digging this. Bad ace homes, every single one of your songs keeps on getting better and better. For the intro this is awesome. The only thing I can pick out is that I hope your gonna come in with a huge breakout at 1:03 in the next version hopefully. Quote

Oooo, if you have time AFTER u make this 1, can you remix the Tyrano Lair? I'll wuv u forever and ever - but not in that way. Unless u want me to Quote
Sole Signal Posted April 12, 2007 Author Posted April 12, 2007 Thanks guys. @ HoboKa, maybe I'll do another Chrono mix sometime in the future, but like I said, it's not like this mix was planned or anything. Maybe I should corrupt my .flp's with Kontakt more often. Quote

Tuned Logic Posted April 13, 2007 Posted April 13, 2007 I can't do much in the way of advice, but let me just say this is ****ing awesome Keep up the good work! Quote
I_Love_OC_ReMixes Posted April 13, 2007 Posted April 13, 2007 ^I agree with this guy. this kicks ass. Quote
The Instrumental Light Posted April 13, 2007 Posted April 13, 2007 wow, all i can say is wow. this is some pretty kick-a** stuff. although usually i dont care for this genre of music, but this definitely made the song enjoyable. the only thing i can criticize about it is that after the half-way point in the song, there was something missing, it needs something to fill that emptiness. congratulations on a great job! keep it up! Escariot Posted April 13, 2007 Posted April 13, 2007 Miszou - Quit phailing and work on your SM64 song.. Quote
Fishy Posted April 13, 2007 Posted April 13, 2007 QFE Miszou - Quit phailing and work on your SM64 song.. Also, what program do you use you crazy. Furthermore: Fake guitars aren't as sexy as real ones, but you've done a very good job of them. Quote
cobaltstarfire Posted April 14, 2007 Posted April 14, 2007 This is pretty nifty so far, my only complaint is some of the sounds make my ears want to bleed. I'm not sure of the technical way to put it, but I think it's the higher pitched sutff. x_x Quote

I use FL, duh. For the crunch guitar, I used a set of samples from the Sample Fusion "Amped" pack, running them through the Camel Crusher VST and Amplitube LE. For the lead, it's a Sytrus patch routed through the same combo. Works pretty well methinks. Quote
Fusilliban Posted April 15, 2007 Posted April 15, 2007 This is fun to listen to. Where's the rest of it? Quote
John Revoredo Posted April 15, 2007 Posted April 15, 2007 Cool! . Liked the drums and the overall feel here, and yeah... I have to agree, fake guitars aren't as sexy as real guitars... but there's some nice buildup here. I think you should go trying with some more instruments and stuff. This feels like a candy that is way too sweet.... so, you get tired of so much sugar little time after, so , why don't you try with a bit of salt?? (ok,,, i know i'm not the best with metaphors, but... you know what i mean!! ) Quote
Heruwath Lomgil Posted April 23, 2007 Posted April 23, 2007 I think I can describe this with two words: BAD ASS Quote
HoboKa Posted April 28, 2007 Posted April 28, 2007 have u updated ur song yet? I've been itching to hear more of it Quote
HoboKa Posted May 3, 2007 Posted May 3, 2007 *tumbleweed flies by*... *some one coughs in the distance* must...hear...newer...version...of...song...ug X_x Quote
Antelucan Posted May 3, 2007 Posted May 3, 2007 Whoa, nice concept you have here. You REALLY need to finish this. Think of the children. Quote
Sole Signal Posted May 3, 2007 Author Posted May 3, 2007 Thanks for all the interest! Yeah, I haven't forgotten about this; I've just been uber busy lately. Finals start (and end) next week, but then work starts up too. I should have some time this weekend, though. Quote
HoboKa Posted May 4, 2007 Posted May 4, 2007 WOOHOOO *big hug*. Looking forward to more awesome remixage Quote
gliyw1thdabangs Posted May 4, 2007 Posted May 4, 2007 this is pretty attractive. gotta lower the eq at first on the echoing pads (i don't know which synth it is but it stuck out too much for me on the first listen.) I hope to hear this after you finish it up and it gets passed (if you're going to submit it.) Quote
chanq Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 Now that's one tasty mix! When the leads come in it kinda sounds like something from Jazz Jackrabbit 2. Quote
ambient Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 Pretty freaking tight so far. Will be very interesting to see where you take it from here. I will be checking back for updates. Quote
