Bigfoot Posted April 30, 2007 Posted April 30, 2007 He has the vision of the PS4, 5, and 6. I don't know about you guys, but I don't see how he can already have an idea of what the PS5 and 6 will be. That's many, many years from now. http://www.eetimes.com/news/latest/showArticle.jhtml?articleID=199202196 Quote

Broken Posted April 30, 2007 Posted April 30, 2007 I may just be imagining things, but I remember an old Playstation advertisement where someone played the ps1 through like ps3 or 4 and in the end it was a hologram projector. foreshadowing? Quote
Devyn Posted April 30, 2007 Posted April 30, 2007 May I suggest an official Kutagari thread? There's already like 2 or 3 threads about this guy. Quote
Antipode Posted April 30, 2007 Posted April 30, 2007 Wait, I thought Kutaragi had resigned The article (from Apr. 27) says that "though he will be resigning, he has a vision" of what the future Playstations could be. The title is misleading because it says he's "planning" them, when he's doing no such thing. Quote

Citris Posted May 1, 2007 Posted May 1, 2007 lol, especially how Sony was originally boasting the PS3 would be viable for 10 yrs. That's not really a boast. The PS3 is incredibly powerful. It could take 5 years at least for us to start seeing its true potential. Quote

ifirit Posted May 1, 2007 Posted May 1, 2007 you mean the Playstation 9?http://youtube.com/watch?v=n2DlgcpR2nA Seriously, if there's not a PS9 like that by 2078, I am totally going to throw my walker at them. Or teleport them the contents of my adult diaper. Quote
Steben Posted May 2, 2007 Posted May 2, 2007 you mean the Playstation 9?http://youtube.com/watch?v=n2DlgcpR2nA agh that's what I was gonna say Quote

It could take 5 years at least for us to start seeing its true potential. lol, I'll believe it when I see it man. Five years is a substantial time period (let alone ten), and I'd doubt it if the PS3 hasn't aged greatly by then. Anyway, it's not just how powerful it might be that will determine its viability in the future, but also the market. If any of these consoles were to remain on the market for much more than five years, I'd be impressed. Not trying to take jabs at the PS3 or Sony, but I'd be worried for them if they really bought into their own "10 year" line. Quote
