Hale-Bopp Posted September 6, 2007 Posted September 6, 2007 I've never been a fan of opera music by any means, but I've always appreciated & respected this man's talent. His abilities as a vocalist were mind-blowing. He also proved that with enough confidence and perseverance, just about anyone can accomplish their dreams. RIP. Quote
Upthorn Posted September 6, 2007 Posted September 6, 2007 http://www.nytimes.com/2007/09/06/arts/music/06pavarotti.htmlAnd so an era ends Not to be insensitive, or anything, but you might want to fix the thread title to reflect that pavarotti died yesterday, not 3 months ago. Quote
Dhsu Posted September 6, 2007 Posted September 6, 2007 I dunno if you're kidding or not, but that's the US date format. Quote
Liontamer Posted September 6, 2007 Posted September 6, 2007 I dunno if you're kidding or not, but that's the US date format. Nah, he was right. Forwhatever reason, it said 6/5 before. I just fixed it a few minutes after Jody posted. Pavarotti was a wonderful musician. Quote
Jillian Aversa Posted September 6, 2007 Posted September 6, 2007 This was saddening news, but seventy-one is a good age... And what a lifetime he had! I honor Pavarotti for his ability to tap into the mainstream music world. He gave so many people a glimpse into the operatic repertory that may never have experienced it otherwise. A very noble man. Neo Samus Posted September 6, 2007 Posted September 6, 2007 I heard about it this morning. So sad. He was an amazing man with a fantastic voice. Now he can hang out with the other amazing talents through the course of history. Quote
DrumUltimA Posted September 6, 2007 Posted September 6, 2007 i saw pavoratti live once.. my parents were playing in the orchestra and got me in. I wish I appreciated classical music more then (this is before i came to Peabody), so that I really would've have enjoyed an experience that, well, wont happen again... Quote
