  1. Congratulation PH! Best of luck to you in the rest of this competition. lol, I'm actually feeling the same way. I have no idea what I was thinking picking such a crazy source.
  2. That makes three of us! I've come up with something rather unique too. Man, I can't wait to see how this turns out.
  3. I'm here! I've just been really busy with college and work for the past week. Looking forward to hear what everyone is coming up with for this week!
  4. The way that I originally intended it to be pronounced is Are-Cease. ("Are" as in a pirates favorite letter, and "Cease" as in cease and desist.) However, I have no problem going by my real name either. Feel free to call me whatever you guys want! I really only have the name Arceace because It's a name that's almost guaranteed not to be taken when I register for a website. Edit: I've been reading some of the feedback you guys have been leaving for me, and I just wanted to thank everyone for being constructive and optimistic! It means a lot to me that you are willing to go out of your way to help newbies like myself.
  5. Why Don't You Remix New VGM?

I remix songs that leave an impact on me. There are a lot of wonderful songs from modern VGM, but I haven't heard many that stick with me as much as the ones from the games I played as a kid. However, I don't think that this preference is limited solely to my favorite childhood games. Recently I've discovered the Turtles In Time sound track for the SNES. I've never played this game before, but after my first listen I was completely hooked on it. I may even consider remixing one of those themes in the near future. Since I don't have any nostalgia to go off of with this game, I think that the way older VGM is designed just clicks better with me than many of the more modern songs. However, I am in complete agreeance that modern VGM deserves just as much attention as Older VGM.
  6. Glad to hear things are going well for you! I've still been wracking my brain trying to figure out what I'm going to do with these two songs.
  7. After flip-flopping these around a little while, I finally feel that these are in the order that I would like. Tropical Resort Zone (Sonic Colors) Bingo Highway Zone (Sonic Heroes) Mushroom Hill Zone (Sonic and Knuckles) Emerald Hill Zone (Sonic The Hedgehog 2) Mystic Cave Zone (Sonic The Hedgehog 2) I can't wait to see how this turns out!
  8. This is a little remix that I have been working on for a while. It's been rather fun to play around with this source, and I'm pretty happy with how it sounds at the moment. All feedback is appreciated! Source: Remix:
  9. This looks like it could be a lot of fun. I've been looking to try some new ideas, and this seems like the perfect opportunity!
  10. A few months ago, I heard this song and immediately fell in love with it. I started writing the remix off and on for a couple of weeks, and I feel like it's about 50% complete right now. Please forgive the low quality of the arrangement, I haven't bothered with any production, or even mixing all of the sounds properly. I'm interested in getting some thoughts on the arrangement so far, and any suggestions on how to improve it. Source: Remix:
  11. Here's a project I finished a little while ago. I had a few influences while writing this short little song, but I also did a lot of experimentation. Enjoy! Link:
  12. Finally got around to finishing this one. I used a lot of concepts I learned over the past few months, and I feel much better about how it sounds. Feel free to leave feedback! Remix: Original:
  13. This sounds awesome, dude! Feels like it's strait out of a Sonic level. Are you doing all of this with samples? Or are you using a VST of some kind?
  14. I recently finished a short original project that I've been working on for a little bit. I've been trying to develop my style and branch out a little more, so this is a pretty big change for me. Feel free to tell me what you think!
  15. I'm not sure if there's already another forum that addresses this topic, so if there is, feel free to send the link. I've been getting into music production now for a good year and a half. Lately I have been talking with some of my friends and we are starting to think about getting a group together for live performances. However, I'm not sure what all is necessary to do so. I'm certain we'll need the basics like amps, mics, and various connection cables, but I would like to know how I could incorporate my electronic styles into live performance. I have had a lot of experience with piano, so I feel that I will be using a keyboard as my primary instrument. I'm also considering looking for something similar to the Abelton Launch Pad for better sample control (something that works with FL Studio). Do any of you use this kind of equipment? is there anything else that you can recommend?
