[Recruiting] SONG MAKERS / REMIXERS
Cole Train and one other reacted to Skrypnyk for a topic
So create original content and use public domain songs. I have a YouTube channel, with videos consisting of an image and my audio playing. Anyone capable of registering a google account and loading an image and audio into windows movie maker (or the equivalent) can do this. How are you helping anyone out exactly? Are your animations / videos on adobe after effects award winning? Have you already gained a significant following? Are you guaranteeing the video you make will go viral?2 points -
Alarm bells are sounding in my head. You're looking to be a middleman where other people provide effort and content and surrender all creative licensing to you under the premise that you would forward youtube advertising revenue to the song creator in the future. This could be enticing if you had a channel that already has a massive following because if you don't then we could just post content to our own youtube channels and the search algorithms would return the same viewing numbers but we retain control. To give up your own creative licensing is a massive loss of control, It actually is something I do but I am remunerated through large session fees per day if I record for an artist. Some incentivization would definitely be needed because we're all capable here of doing anything you could provide at a technical level.2 points

PlanarianHugger was the winner of last round. NathielPlasmore and Kapden did a good job and claimed several points, but it was not enough to win or to get a tie. His pick brings back memories from the best PRC round in history (PRC26) when Jeremy Robson won. Also PRC116 when Bundeslang submitted his first song and OneUp claimed victory, Divinewrath winning back in round 159 and PRC237 when both DrumJ8 and FreakyT claimed victory remixed a source from the game which will be remixed in PRC now for the fifth time. classic_gamer_76 reacted to Jfaferrie for a topic
Hey everyone! This is my most recent arrangement I have just finished of Pokemon GSC/HGSS's SS Aqua theme. This is one of my favourites from Johto and it was really fun doing this one. I hope you enjoy, and any critique you might have, I'd love to hear it!1 point -

What is the easiest VGM to transcribe?
timaeus222 reacted to Gario for a topic
In all honesty, music from the 8-bit era tends to be a reasonable place to start (save for some exceptions). Search for music that you like from that era, and transcribe it. Liking it is key, though - since you're just starting out (presumably), it's best to start somewhere that inspires you to keep moving forward. Genesis music can be a bit tricky to start with some games, because a lot of the great music works from manipulating the timbres that the synth can produce. However, there's still music that can easily be transcribed from there, so if you are more of a Sega fan, feel free to give it a shot. SNES, in contrast, is a sample based music system, so it can be easier to parse each channel individually, if that's your thing. Prophetik has a great suggestion, for starters (silence the channels, work from there), and I suggest that as well. However, I would treat that technique as training wheels. It's not a bad thing, and I do it when I can, but be sure to practice dictating music when all the channels are active, as well - there's plenty of music (like CD based music, such as on the PS1) that you simply cannot break apart like that. You don't want to limit yourself to only being able to dictate music that can be parsed into single lines. Hopefully some of this helps!1 point -

Kapden did a short and nice mix, he got 13 points ending with the last place wooden spoon NathielPlasmore got several first place votes, but ends with 16 points and second place. And the winner of PRC322 is PlanarianHugger with a score of 20 points. Congratulations PlanarianHugger with your second win in a row. No tie this time. So next round will be a regular round. PlanarianHugger, send the source to me (with a MID/MP3 file, otherwise send a second source with a MID file) by PM, other options are PM me @ ThaSauce or by e-mailing to bambombim@gmail.com (I prefer a PM @Ocremix). Send your source as fast as you can, but before this Friday (20 May), 12:59 AM ThaSauce time. You may select any source for any game, but not a source with an OverClocked remix or a source which has been used in PRC before. An overview of the past PRC's can be found in the following links: http://sites.google.com/site/bambombim/prc http://bambombim.googlepages.com/PRCRemixList.doc (also downloadable via the link above). Check the ThaSauce Page for the results.1 point -
Odd Rhythms in FL

I'm "that" guy, but in every other DAW you just right click and change the time signature. I just don't know why Image Line won't implement that feature.1 point -
