  1. So I've been looking for a good string ensemble library for a while now, something that is versatile but sounds cinematic. My price range is not very high, so that disqualifies most of the libraries, I looked at Cinematic Strings 2.0 and they were priced well and sounded great to me. Then I discovered that the same guys that made Cinematic Strings 2.0 made something even higher end in this new "Cinematic Studio" series that they are creating. So basically I was just wondering what you guys think about this library, it's only 400$, so 100$ more than cinematic strings 2.0, they sound great to me honestly. Would you recommend these for a someone new to composing with orchestral sample libraries? They're supposed to be easy to use and such. 2. it is true that it's entirely based on opinion on what is considered to be the victor, but that's what I like about MnP honestly. You're not supposed to worry about changing things up (that's what PRC is for), it's about who can portray the same emotion better whether it's within there own style or not. I can understand if people think its bland to just follow the original track and midi but that's what this compo is. Personally, I use MnP as the testing grounds to either create original sounds or combine multiple layers of sounds ( that I don't normally use) to form them as one. For example in the first 30 seconds of my piece, Only 2 instruments are playing in the midi but I'm actually using 4 instruments (not including effects). If I'm not doing this method mentioned earlier than I'm practicing to play this live on my midi piano or by simply training my ear to remake the song and try to only use the midi file as a fail safe. if I'm just getting a lot of notes wrong ( which is more often than not) then I'll just bite the bullet and use the midi. I feel like the whole point of this compo is to find better ways to improve yourself without the need of sweating things out or the need to be a try hard, At least that's how I see it. Like its not that big of a deal if you win or lose or even if you felt like you got robbed, I don't see things that way. I only see what needs or should've been improved on if such situations were to occur.

  3. The events are in third person. I'm guessing it's Child timeline.

  4. The voice acting is not good, it's like a not-great anime dub. But DEFINITELY not worth skipping the game. The frame rate also dips sometimes but this too is really not a big deal relative to the quality of the actual game.

    I'm doing an r/games AMA!

Sup folks! I'm happy to announce that I'll be doing an r/games AMA Thursday, March 9th, at 3pm EST / 12pm PST. I'll be with the co-creators of my current indie project, Anew: The Distant Light, which is also on the last days of its Kickstarter campaign. I'm super excited about this title as it's one of my most unique and personal scores yet, with elements of 20th century art music (John Adams, Bartok, Debussy, Takemitsu) as well as much quieter and more emotional cues. Hope you can make it!

  6. The whole album has been submitted for review! I need all artists to submit a commentary about their tracks (I'll be sending messages to everyone with the format.) so that we have the artists take on their tracks. I'll be doing Director's comments on each track with Swifthom as well so we have our work cut out for us. We're close everyone!
