  1. Well, you see, with movies there's this thing called plot, and it has to make up for the lack of gameplay. If you don't have a plot, no matter how well made the movie, you won't have a good movie. It's the difference between mediums. Like comparing a play to a movie. Acting is a lot more central in theatre than in movies, but you don't see adaptations being done trying to mimic the original feel of the initial medium, they adapt it. Try finding one good movie that did not have a plot. Even pornos try to slip something in.
  2. I'd like to say Ninja Gaiden, but I'd have to beat it. Maybe 700th time will be the charm...
  3. Blueray licensing. Every movie that uses blueray makes them money. And what they did is get as many blueray players in as many homes as possible. It was quite a gamble since HDDVD might have been the one to win the format war, but it may payoff well. 5 games is not a lot, and and when they start making money, if they make it on games and blueray DVDs, hey will make quite a profit. It's a risky move, but they payoff may be greater. When the X-Box 720 comes out, it might even be on blueray, meaning Sony makes money off of that as well.
  4. I think somebody needs a hug. Oh and think about it, he may not even have plagiarized you, he might have stolen it from someone who stole it from someone who stole it from you. But yeah, it sucks when people don't give credit where it's due.
  5. Back when it came out, I think I saw that for them to break even you had to buy somewhere between 5 and 10 games.
  6. Overall, the song is a great improvement over version 1. I feels more like a song and less like a concept. The intro is getting there. I think the only thing missing is some tweaking of the instruments / choir. I can't really give precise comments because all my projects never really make it past the concept part. The piano was a great choice, it sounds eerie enough. At this point, this song could almost have been in the game and people would have loved it. You are on the right track, keep it up and you will have a pretty unique remix that will go straight to my favourite playlist,
  7. It's not like he even did a good video, just a bunch of still he stole online, with cheap animation... The point of the movie was the song, and he stole that.
  8. Lets just remember him has the man who had never fucked a 10, but on one wonderful night, fucked five 2s. (I may have been listening to his material...)
  9. I hate you all... Also congratulations. I will now crawl back under my bridge...
  10. 8 or 9 minutes of intensive action is pretty much what was found in Terminator 1 or V for Vendetta and other movies. For a 60 minute film, you're gonna have 10 minutes of establishing the characters and world. There,s no way around it. So you are left with 50 minutes. You also need a conclusion, usually 5 minutes is enough, so you are left with 45 minutes of plot between the starting event and the denouement. he 8 minute action scene can be split in two 4 minutes action scene (especially since he uses flashbacks). You can split it up well: 14 minutes "not racing" 4 minutes racing 14 minutes not racing 4 minutes racing, and 9 minutes leading up to the conclusion. This seems like reasonable pacing, especially for an independent film that does not want the CGI to look like crap.
  11. HEY HEY Respect Speed Racer. It was a great movie, not without flaws, but very enjoyable. Between that and V for Vendetta, I've almost forgiven the Watchamacallit brothers/sisters for the last 2 Matrix.
  12. Well, as an independent film, it's more about what they can do with what they have than spending a billion dollars on a crappy plot-less cesspool.
  13. Can I submit a picture of my Dreamer Cleaver? I mean, it's a tough boss, not everyone can clear it, and well, after a while it's just fun to speed run it...
  14. It's a lot cheaper if you don't pay people to work on it.
  15. Or annoying. Some dude is signaling a turn, in my head it goes beep beep beep... (well, more like buzz...)
  16. It might be a minor form of synastesia. Although I know that when I drive, if I listen to a wider variety of genres, I won't notice anything strange, but if I listen to upbeat or faster music, I will get more aggressive and my heart rate will rise. To a point where, if the music is of a certain speed for a long time, I will be short of breath and physically exhausted afetr driving. However, I have multiple traits of synastesia, different lights have different sounds, and I figure that sound must have a different effect on my brain.
  17. Oh please, you're a judge now. Every bootlicker with a mix on the panel will create a thread for your birthday.
  18. I know that feeling. I mean, is it so hard to get a birthday thread up on JULY 6th ? My birthday is coming up, JULY 6th, and I fear I won,t get a thread on JULY 6th. Oh well, happy birthday Zircon, welcome to complete adulthood, enjoy your legal alcohol.
  19. But would he want us to make a big deal out of this? Lets not ruin his memory by being sad.
  20. Don't give up. All you need is to clean it up a bit. You can do this, you took it this far, you might as well go the distance.
  21. He was attacked by the armor devourer that has plagued Megaman, Metroid, and any games where the protagonist loses gear and abilities between games. That or you accept the inherent nature of videogames needing a "reset" of a character's ability between games. They can make it plot relevant (End of Metroid Prime 1 and beginning of Metriod Prime 2, or just skip over it, but it's part of the nature of videogames when characters need to lose these abilities.)
