  1. He is on to something. In fact, walking is a reference to Super Mario Bros.
  2. Freedom is exclusive to the Government of the United States and you are not allowed to have it unless it is provided to you by the US.
  3. Meh, since it was played on a TV and used light to represent characters, its obviously just like Pong. I dare you to try and play sonic just by holding right on the Dpad. You won't make it out of the first level.
  4. Sony helped Nintendo on that aspect. If the Wii had been the only motion sensing console, it would have been the worse as well as the best. Now, with Sony placing themselves firmly in the worse position, they allowed Nintendo to be the best. Seriously, if we have no point of reference, we cannot evaluate something.
  5. Tell that to the poor people from the lost nation of Atlantis.
  6. Sony in general has been doing badly. The battery thing really ruined their reputation with many people. Think about it, if they can screw up a 20$ battery, they can screw up a 700$ console. In addition, they keep changing it, trying to convince us the PS3's newest iteration is an improvement, but they keep removing things. Even their price cut was on a discontinued product.
  7. No, I tested around with different levels of light, it was really weird. I'll see if it happens again tonight at my place.
  8. Do they need to team up at this point? To Sega, Nintendo's greatest competitor. It really did what "Nintendon't." A true competitor that tried to stand out instead of fit in. A company that did create intense yet civil rivalries, and a company that completed the second half videogame market instead of trying to dominate the whole. Sony, and Microsoft could learn a lot from you, Nintendo did. The Wii is the spiritual grandson of the Dreamcast, the console that stood out. Hopefully, you will return to the market someday, once the false idols have fallen, and you will take your rightful place, slightly behind, or slightly ahead depending on the weeks, of Nintendo. To Sega, I shall rise my lukewarm cup of water to you. A Nintendo Classic Fanboy
  9. This is madness.... No, this is OVER NINE THOUSAND!!!
  10. I met my first Wii hater this week-end. I was in an EBgames, looking at the classic controller for my newly found VC addiction, and I was explaining to my friend the reason for that controller. As I was doing some mental math concerning my budget, the clerk comes up to me and says: :350:"Yeah, that's a classic controller for the Wii." No shit sherlock... but still, I'm gonna be polite. "Yeah, I know, I'm thinking of getting one for the virtual console." :350:"Yeah, it will work with some games, companies are also gonna use it for their games." "Hmmm, I know of smashbros, any other games that are gonna use it?" :350:"I don't know, its just that the Wii just doesn't perform up to everyone's expectations." "So yeah hmmm, anyway, I'm gonna go somewhere else." That's strike 2 for EBgames, strike 1 was selling me a used game saying it was "new". Also, there was something weird this week-end with my Wii. I brought it at a friend's place and well, the pointer kept jumping up an down. Look in the settings and somehow there were 4 white dots on screen no matter what I did. Is it possible that the backlight from his LCD screen messed up the pointer?
  11. I kept the missiles for other things, such as 5 shooting some of these hoppers and blazehounds thingies. Worked like a charm too. I simply blasted the Metroids.
  12. Great idea. If you can't beat the competition, confuse the customers.
  13. I actually missed that. Can't believe I didn't think about it. However, one thing I had a great level of fun with was using the lasso to drain or overload enemies. Grab on a shield and push forward, watch it explode.
  14. Its not a description of metroid, its a description of castlvania games taking an approach similar to metroid. Starting around SOTN. It's still a platformer. A platformer of the Metroid school, which, when used with castlvania creates the metroidvania genre.
  15. Sadly, I cannot write on cake, so my idea was a bust.
  16. Prime 1: FF7 Prime Hunters: FF11? Prime Pinball FF9? Prime 2: FF8 Prime 3 FF12? What the hell happened to FFX and X2?
  17. I actually figured it out early in the game, I wont spoil much more, but they give you a lot of blatantly obvious clues. In fact, with the preview channel, I had a good idea what was gonna be one of the bosses. They left a lot of breadcrumbs.
  18. Too bad I cannot make a Mon Calamari cake. Oh well, you gave me an idea.
  19. Meh, the final boss was kinda disapointing all and all, the spoiler did not ruin much, now the other bosses were amazing. Especially that one in that place.
  20. Dear Antonio, Please come to the castle, I have baked a cake for you. Love, Radical Dreamer PS. The icing should go on at around 6 tonight, if you are not here tonight or tomorrow, the cake will be all mine, and I shall take pictures.
  21. It was the fusion of the prime series. You can't call it bad, but its different.
  22. Just completed it at 97%, and I have a couple of complaints. Prim 3, at the end, is a lot worse than prime 1. It suffers from the opposit end of the spectrum from Echoes, and the rest of this post is gonna be spoilergarded, do not read unless you have finished the game. First of all the satelite recon thing that revealed every item location: cheap. It allowed me to get to 97% without too much of a hassle. Opposed to the echoes impossible 100% thing unless you spend an ungodly amount of time searching, its stupid. Havent they heard of middle grounds? Phaase, great idea. However being in "immortal allpowerful" mode made the final boss way too easy, I was expecting at least one phase of the boss without all power mode. Instead the end of the game is basically a cinematic sequence. Compare that to the emperor ing / dark samus battles, it was again a case for the middle ground. Seriously, the game was too easy for itself. Final evaluation: The game as it is, is to easy. I should not have to unlock a mode to enjoy the game. In addition Even with a new start at a higher level, some elements will be accessible to remove some challenges from Metroid. Graphics are good, music is great, sounds get annoying (second beam upgrade anyone?) But yeah there are good sides and bad sides. And the bad side for all this quality are the loading times. Graphic: Great textures, nice visual effects, although we were used to the fogging up of the visor and all. Every creature has a nice skin, good animations, and some visual touches are great. 95% Points are subtracted due to the graphics being too much for the Wii. Audio: The music is par with the rest of the series. Good enough to enjoy it, subtle enough to fade in the background. Sound effects are another thing. The Samus fanfare was getting on my nerves at the end. The second beam upgrade was grating. And the rest was identical to the gamecube games. 80% Good music can carry a score far, but even with perfect music, annoying sounds can ruin the audio experience. Story: Nothing to say about it. Partially predictable, but mostly in the background of a good game. The few storyline events were a nice change of pace. Overall though, throwaway characters, artificial personalities, and quite frankly, the silent Samus got on my nerves. If you have cinematic sequences you can voice a character without ruining it. 90% Gameplay: Solid controls, nothing to say about that. Hint system. There should be 3 settings: "Annoying, press 2 for hints, and nothing." Instead you had hints that made Megaman 4 5 and 6 seem unguided or nothing else. That was a bit of a flaw. 80%. Overall, As I said before, a good solid experience, too easy for my taste, with an uneven pace, and uneven sound. The best parts clearly overshadow the worse, and frankly, I'm sad that this amazing game had some flaws that cannot be overlooked. 85% overall score. Clearly the first true Wii game. I just hope crazy loading times, and uneven sounds are not gonna be the usual on Wii games.
  23. Ok, I have to know, how were the loading times for you? Because in my case it was a lot longer than previous metroids,
  24. Mine should be obvious, Greek mythology. Although to be fair, I would use all mythologies, but I don't have that much hardware. My old PC I rebuilt to give to my parents is called Phoenix, simply because it was dead and now it works.
