  1. This community is a lot less mature than I expected. No biggie, I guess.
  2. Hmm... Panned to the right you say? I've got to listen to this with headphones. Thanks for the feedback, I just hope I'm being overcritical of myself...
  3. WIP Not a great WIP... Not even... a good WIP. But a WIP nonetheless. It means I'm thinking about this project still. Yay. I don't like the organ part. Tell me to get rid of it, and I will. I'm having problems with this song, and I'm not sure why, I just don't like how it's coming together. Advise me, people! Edit: One of the reasons I'm having trouble on this song is I can't seem to evade the clipping with it. Second reason: The source material is lackluster at best, so I'm completely "re-imagining" it. It's not easy.
  4. I believe in FL, the MIDI drumkit is assigned to channel 9 on your MIDI Out. You can't add reverb or delay in MIDI. You can try to simulate it by adding extra notes of lower velocities, though. Drums be channel 10 Thanks guys! All I need now are some drum programming skills...
  5. Well, I've asked this question here before, but maybe I misworded it because I didn't get a very good response. I'm kind of a midi newbie, but I have to make one. So without further ado, how do you "do" drums in midi? Sure, there are a few midi instruments that are drums, like the crappy electronic snares and the taiko, but I mean an actual drumkit. Of all the midi instruments I can't find an actual drumset, yet many midi songs I open with FL mysteriously have them pre-imported or such. Basically, my question is, how do I make a midi out channel that has a midi drumkit assigned to it? And secondarily, how do you add effects like reverb and delay in midi? Sorry if I worded my question badly again, but I'm not sure how else to explain it. I just don't really understand this.
  6. Tertiated. The project just included many new mixers, and didn't have very rigorous quality screening, but that doesn't mean that the tracks by the experienced mixers that WERE on the project were bad. And there were quite a few.
  7. Hadyn, I'm not sure which snare you're talking about, but I am trying the EQ trick you suggested.
  8. Soundclick is back up, anyone feel like listening to my WIP and making suggestions? www.soundclick.com/bands/6/ichitootahmusic.htm (Helium Stairway) or http://www.soundclick.us/fastk6/09/01/freemp3/ichitootah+heliumstairway.mp3 should work too.
  9. Alright, my first WIP is ready. I haven't worked more than an hour on this, so it's pretty rough and short. Any suggestions, ideas on where the song should progress from here? I've radically changed the feel of the piece from a bouncy sound (pretty ugly) to a more ambient sound (nicer, in my opinion). Anyway, www.soundclick.com/bands/6/ichitootahmusic.htm (Helium Stairway) Glad people are making progress on their respective works as well. Feedback much appreciated. I'm a pretty new mixer, and not that good yet, but I'm still working at it, and suggestions will definitely be taken into account. Edit: Soundclick (where my song is hosted )is down, hopefully it'll be back up later.
  10. Balloon Park Competition is looking mighty fine right now. I've always wanted to be in an OCR project. Count me in.
  11. I heard this in the OCR RPG... and my thoughts were "what the crap, I refuse to beleive this is the famous Music of my Groin Remix." Then I turned the sound down. But I can see how this is funny, but I just don't really like this particular type of humor. This remix is unique yes, it could be considered genious in it's particular humor style, but I just don't like it. If you feel the need to listen to some low quality music that you will probably still enjoy, click that download button.
  12. Most decent suggestion. Accurate analogy and symbolism, unassuming, catchy. How did "a" transform into "the"? Good title choice overall, but I just think "a" was so much more inspiring.
  13. Not bad, but really, this music doesn't have 1. Beauty 2. Coolness (yes, opinions) All it has is swampy-stuff. Which is actually pretty good, but it could have been something... more. 6/10
  14. I think this question has been asked and answered a few times in this thread, but near the metronome button and below the poly & CPU displays, there's a little box that has the word "snap" under it in white text. That's what you're looking for, probably.
  15. Wow. This is awesome. It just keeps throwing stuff at you. Just when you think it cant get any more out of control (in a good way of course) it pummels you with that crazy solo. One of the best guitar OC Remixes, in my opinion.
  16. Thanks, but I'm kind of confused. I use the FX Mixer for my actual sampler and soundfont channels, but I didn't think you could just slap a fruity reverb or Band EQ on a midi out channel. If you can, someone please tell me how, as I am rather stuck. I'm also a bit confused with your answer to #2. I know nothing about midi, so maybe i'm missing something, but it sounds like you think i'm trying to use a drum loop or something of the sort. Not the case. I don't even know how to create a MIDI out channel thats assigned midi instrument is drums. Sorry to seem dense, but I don't see how the FX Mixer will help me in this case, and I just plain don't get your answer to my second problem .
  17. I have to make a midi for ORC... but I've never made one before. I was just wondering 1. How to put effects such as reverb on midi instrument channels. 2. How to get a midi drum track in Fruity Loops. An actual drum kit isn't one of the GM 128 (as far as I know), and I don't really know how to get a channel devoted to one. Any help would be appreciated. Sorry for the noobish question, but I didn't really know a better place to put this. Edit: Clarity.
