OCR Big Band *NOW ACCEPTING ARRANGEMENTS* *NEED TROMBONES*
Wiesty replied to Wiesty's topic in Recruit & Collaborate!
So far I have a pretty good idea of peoples ranges, but I shall collect these and create a info sheet or something like that. I made sure when I was recruiting that most of the horn players had decent ranges -
OCR Big Band *NOW ACCEPTING ARRANGEMENTS* *NEED TROMBONES*

Hey everyone, Just wanted to announce some big and exciting news! We have found a bassist who will grace us with his presence! I'd like to welcome audiofidelity to the group! Jay is a fantastic and versatile bassist who I've had the pleasure to work with in years past. Secondly, I'd like to officially welcome C7 to our group as a our second trumpet player! He sent me some demo material a few days ago and I am looking very forward to working with him! With those two announcements, it means that we have enough musicians to start doing some recording! We are still looking for another trumpet player and a couple more trombones, but with what we have now, we can definitley start making some music. Therefore I'm officially putting the invitation out to arrangers to start bringing forth some music for us to play! Music submitted must be accompanied with scores, and should be written for such an ensemble such as ours, or a fragment of it ( i.e. rhythm section + 2 horns etc.). Genre is not extremely important, as long as it fits the instrumentation provided. Lots of big stuff happening folks! Up and onwards! -

Hey, thanks for the interest! Even if your fretless skills are not up to par, itd be cool if you could send me a sample of you reading some chord changes in maybe some jazz/funk styles on whatever bass youre comfortable with! -

FF6 Remix Project -- 2 Week Extension
Wiesty replied to Jason Covenant's topic in Recruit & Collaborate!
My guess is this project kinda got the death sentence with the official oc remix one in the works. We could stil continue this and either release it independently or wait a long time to release it here.... -

If anyone is interested in playing bass please send me some examples of your playing. We're really interested in players who can read music/chord symbols, and play/improvise in genres such as jazz, funk, rock, etc. -

Hey everyone, just a bit of an update on the roster here. I'll update the main post so you guys can see who all we got so far. First of I'd like to welcome Fratto to the band as a trombonist, our one and only so far. So if there are any trombone players out there looking to get in on a project please step forward. Secondly, I'd like to welcome SirJordanious to the project as a trumpet player. And finally I'd like to welcome joenopride to the band as our pianist. We've had some potential arrangers come forward with some music so it looks like we should be able to get some recording done hopefully by the end of summer. Thats about it for now. Cheers! -

Hey everyone, sorry for lack of progress, but stuff has been with recently, and we're still waiting for some more players to come forward. That being said, I'd like to welcome Sir Jordanius to the band. He is our first and only trumpet player thus far, and we're thrilled to have him! I've had a few people come forward for brass so far, but nothing permanent. It would be great to get a few more auditions in for trombone/trumpet. Saxophone section is basically filled right now, and rhythm section is in the works! More to come! -

I've got a few different guitar auditions in the works currently, and I'm awaiting a few others. I will let you know when I've made a final decision though! -
Thats true, although the first album I worked on was thieves of fate, so there definitley is a strong community of remixers committed to non blockbuster games.

finished Not The Taxi You Whistled For
Wiesty replied to XPRTNovice's topic in Post Your Game ReMixes!
Hey man sounding really good, definitley some great ideas at work here. I'm having a bit of a problem with the introduction of the new themes such as when the gold saucer theme comes in. There just seems to be a lack of transition, and the ideas get presented kind of abruptly. I think if you can smoothen those out somehow it would definitley make your song have a little more contrast overall. -

Hey everyone, I'd like to welcome Anthony Lofton to the project! Anthony is a well known sax player in the community, and spent a good portion of his time as the sax player for The Oneups. We are looking very forward to working with him! -
key modulation - good idea, or bad idea?
Wiesty replied to Chimpazilla's topic in Music Composition & Production
yah, as Calum said Secondary dominants are good. Also, Pivot chords are pretty common, so just compare the two key areas: D: Dmaj Emin F#min G Maj A Maj Bmin C#dim Dmaj E: Emaj F#min G#min A Maj B Maj C#min D#dim Emaj Common chords: A Major (IV or V) So this is a chord you can pivot on an example of a modulation passage would be D: I ii iv V/V V A: I (V/IV) IV ii V I Or something like that Edit: the formating didnt quite work, I in A should allign underneath V/V in D
