  1. Shnabubula's music owns me. Everytime I hear a Shna tune my head just rattles around on my neck uncontrollably. If only I could bear his children... er, nevermind. Song's kickin', by the way.
  2. Now, I've never been a huge zircon fan buuuut, I'm willing to make an exception now. The song's flowing, the song's cool but, jiminey christmas, once the Hidden Turth part kicks in, I think my slippers literally shot off my feet! Masterfully superb.
  3. Heh-heh, "souled". Anywho, wish Mister Big-shot BAFTA award winner would grace us with another mix. I'd like to here him take on an old 8-bit tune. Metroid, perhaps?
  4. I know, I know. I can tell just by listening that it truly is his work. It's just one of those things that's almost too awesome to be true. You guys must've been stoked when you got that one.
  5. So, I've gotta' be the skeptic here: are we totally sure this is actually Jeremy Soule's work? Isn't it possible that it was someone posing as him? I mean, Jeremy Soule is one of my favorite VG composers and it just seems kinda' crazy that he would even bother submitting a song to this site. It's not improbable or anything... I just think it's, I dunno, odd. Either way, this tune is great. Though it is beyond me why he'd choose an Uematsu track over one of his own. I believe a Fire Eyes mix is in order! Hey, I can dream, can't I?
  6. Silent Hill Experience? Sweet. I'm hella there, yo.
  7. This mix is probably the best FF8 mix I've ever heard (this and Ziwtra's "Rain in Chicago"). I'm kinda' disappointed that this is Sefiros's only available mix. I'd like to hear much more.
  8. I actually went to the theater to see the new Silent Hill trailer. Ifrit posted from a viable source that it was going to play with Underworld: Evolution. I don't know if anyone else's posted about this, because I only went back to the last page but... damn, I say, the trailer looks freaking awesome. They've got the environments down to the t and, on top of that, they're not using a bunch of nu-metal music like all these other horror games turned movies. Akira Yamaoka is the shiznit! Woo-hoo!
  9. I'd just like to say that Bladiator is one of my favorite mixers on the site and this ReMix is a perfect example why. I didn't care too much for the game though...
  10. After listening to this mix a whole lot more, I've decided that it's totally awesome and one of my favorite Wingless tunes (though nothing'll ever beat Teardrinker). I've gotten used to the bad triangle sample (or poor encoding... whatever my previous qualms had been attributed to) and now I can no longer get enough. I'm not sure if this ever even saw the judges panel... but, I s'pose, if you are the Wingless anything you create is guaranteed golden.
  11. That truly is a brilliant idea. GrayLighting would definitely be the most poignant choice; we should start up a petition or something.
  12. I totally agree. I mean, I listen to Papa Roach as a guilty pleasure sometimes, for god's sake.
  13. So, as everyone else says, this song is beautiful and, as much as Bladiator will hate me for saying this, I do think the lyrics are the only thing holding it back. They're just too blatantly about the game; there's no subtlety in them at all: "fly me, my Flammie"? I know this is a little absurd of an example but, can you imagine if the lyrics were more like, "I fell down a waterfall, I found the mana sword, I fought a killer mantis, the elder kicked my out of town... etc. etc." You can at least see where I'm coming from on this, right? Anywho, that minor (incredibly minor) issue aside, the song truly is one of the most beautiful vocal tunes on this site and, by far, my favorite Harmony mix.
  14. Despite what it may seem like, I do enjoy the majority of your work. For example: your Chrono Trigger mix, Atonement, rocks my socks.
  15. Hmmm... ditto about the CoolEdit. I think it may just be a bad sample. Or, perhaps, The Wingless even intentionally created the sounds to stir up such a discussion! I'm beginning to believe you are correct (not that I would doubt a judge/ReMixer). I'm sure, as I've stated above, that what some of us are hearing may be some were audio transferance or something like that. It doesn't quite sound like clipping afterall; it sounds more like the hisses and pops you hear on warped/dirty records.
  16. Maybe it's just a bad sample or the attack's too high or something? We can't all just be imagining it, can we? Or maybe we all just have shitty headphones that pick up shitty sounds (like how old car cd players pick up scratches a lot easier than more modern ones?); the actual mixers and/or judges on this site probably have more suitable aural equipment than us casual listeners. I'm sure this more likely the problem, eh?
  17. Well, obviously it takes a great amount of skill to create such a song but, guess what, it also takes a great amount of skill to be a ReMixer on this site. The judges are pretty strict and want only the best. So, technically speaking, every mix on this site is going to have undergone much care and production. That's just the way it is.. As for the song itself. It's just rehashed wannabe pop punk and that's cool if that's the sort of stuff that Dranagen wants to do... but it kills the song. He gives it this weird highschool emo vibe that just feels so tired and drab. Once again, yeah this song sounds great, but it takes more than excellent production values to create a great song. I hope you get what I mean. I mean no offence or anything, by the way, just supplying answers.
  18. I did the encoding. You'll notice that many mixes, including the amazing Triforce Majeure, go FAR below 96kbps during VBR. It's not uncommon to set the minimum to something like 32kbps in fact. This was a very long mix and thus it was very difficult to encode without going over the maximum filesize, 6mb. Notice that the mix size is 5.8mb. I did everything humanly possible to maximize the quality while staying under that limit. There is also no clipping. I made absolutely sure of that and ran it through three different kinds of analysis to check. Um, it totally clips. Er, maybe it's not clipping? Maybe the little crunchy blips every so often are intentional? Maybe me and OmegaDonut just need better headphones? I don't doubt the mighty Zircon's ability, afterall.
  19. I like this vibe I get from this collaboration. The Orichalcon and TBee have a good thing going. This is their third mix together now? Anywho, like 'em all so far! Keep 'em coming.
  20. I haven't actually heard it yet (just clicked the download button) but, WOO-HOO! New Wingless! Okay, I've heard it now. Omegadonut ain't kidding. The bitrate's a little too low and there's quite a bit of clipping going on. The rate dropped into the 60's every so often according to my computer (but it's nothing too crazy to make it sound horrible though). It ain't the man with no wings fault though. There are, unfortunately, restrictions on ReMIxes. All in all, really great sounding mix. I'm glad to finally hear something from the man himself again.
  21. You obviously haven't heard Anthem of a Misguided Youth by chthonic then. Or maybe you have...
