  1. Bahram Battleship (Space Control Remix) -Androsynth Edit- v3.mp3 Changed up the snare and cymbals to lessen the monotony a bit. Though now all of a sudden the snare is bothering me in general. But it might be a case of having listened to it too much. Experimented with a saxophone lead, but faking one seemed to hurt the track more than help it so I left it out. Any helpful comments are appreciated.
  2. Click here to listen to Version 2. Now with a slightly stronger beat. It's more apparent in the 2nd section. Also here's a bonus version I mashed up with Perfume: Bahram Battleship (Edge of Space Remix).mp3 The mastering isn't quite as good in that version but that's just one reason why it's not up for review
  3. Well, after years of listening to other people's remixes I've finally gotten around to doing one of my own. I've been working on it off and on for the last month or so. However, at this point I could use some other ideas on how to develop it further. So I'd greatly appreciate it any of you would give it a listen and provide some feedback. 4. That's quite a relaxing groove you've got there. Impressive especially considering how short the source is. I do feel like that pan flute-ish sound is a little too quiet though. But still, it's a nice beat to chill out with.
  5. Everything about this is right. "Did you know that means 'cat' ye~ah..."
  6. Ahh I didn't realize that. That's disappointing. Still plenty more original tracks up for grabs though!
  7. Like the title says, I'm requesting a Space Channel 5 remix. Part One or Part Two, it makes no difference. There are a lot of great tracks to choose from. I know the community can work wonders with them somehow. Space Elementary School Band would be pretty cool. - See Tracks: Go Go Cheer Girl and Rescue! for amusing samples. - Give one of our OCR mascots some love!
  8. So I've been thinking about this one for a while now and I figured it wouldn't hurt to put it in the request forums. Here's the breakdown: Dragon Roost Island - Ennio Morricone Style (The Good The Bad and The Ugly theme is more what I'm drawing from). -It begins with the lead, originally played by the flute, now a lone whistle. A tom softly padding along in the background. -The whistling stops (Maybe a cheesy wind sound during the break for atmosphere). An acoustic guitar picks up with the mandolin part of the song. The percussion becomes more aggressive. -The lead cuts back in with that classic electric guitar. Voices chime in to add more rhythm to the song. -The voices finally swell up to a full chorus harmonizing with the lead. ...and that's pretty much all I've got. Bells, whip-cracks, and harmonicas are other things that might work well here too. If anyone can make this happen you'd have my thanks! Oh and some helpful links: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1hYV-JSjpyU - The Good The Bad The Ugly Theme http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dIu5LvkSKl4 - Dragon Roost Island Theme
  9. I really couldn't stop laughing at the ReMixanator. I had to try all the variations. That was a quality April fool's joke.
  10. I can't believe it! This is a mix I've been dreaming about. And it is even more funktastic than I had imagined. Loving the bass work especially. Keep groovin' Mr. Morse.
  11. So I know there's a brand new Oil Ocean remix but listening to it gave me a neat idea. I imagined a slipknot style version of the song. Preferably without the growling. If anyone could make it happen it would be greatly appreciated. Song Source: http://project2612.org/details.php?id=37
  12. I totally dig this. For some reason, I was kinda hoping for a guitar solo though. Still, this had be bobbing my head instantly. I wish more remixes would offer an attempt at vocals too. Recently there have been some spectacular vocal remixes.
  13. I like the arrangement, but those cymbals are bringing the rest down. They just seem to clash with the rest of the music.
  14. I can definitely dig this. Although I'm afraid I can't currently think of a way to be more constructive. I suppose I would like to hear the percussion brought out a bit more. And I can't help but wonder how this tune might lend itself to a disco remix.
  15. I can't believe how great this is. I admit I was a bit put off when I read what the source was but the song just obliterated that feeling before the vocals even began. It just elicits such powerful emotions(from me anyways). Although I think in this case, as I did with Pillars of Salt, the vocals add so much to the piece despite how indifferent I am about the actual lyrics. Giant props to the vocalist.
  16. I can't propperly express how awed I was at this track (Especially during the second section...man). So here's a smiley:
  17. Its still great, even though this edit is missing the "backup singers" at the end . At the same time, the ending is much more satisfying compared to the original. Something else: The edit definately has a different, more mellow, feel to it compared to the original as well.
  18. *shrug* Well I thought I'd post to give props to Vigilante for Funky Monkey Love. The music itself was already great, but the lyrics just made it so much better. And overall this project is just plain awsome. There wasn't a single track I didn't like on it(Though Funky Monkey Love and West Coast DK Island have gotten the most replays ^_~).
  19. Just...wow... Definately my favorite Xenogears remix, and I'd say one of the best remixes I've heard. Ok now that I've gotten over the initial shock of that incredible work(and instantly directed my Xenogears loving friends to the appropriate page), I'm going to have to make an entirely new playlist just because of this song.
  20. Man this just puts you in the groove ne? My 2nd favorite Outrun song has been done so beautifully. And by 3:00 the song really starts to make you feel good. ...so smooth indeed... This song gets massive points.
  21. This song would go great with a cool looking Doom video to go with it. The effects are just awsome. While it isn't so "upbeat" as most of my music it just has a sweet offbeat groove that keeps ya listening. ...I still think it make a good music video.
