  1. What I use is a condenser mic with a long XLR cable, a preamp from MicMate (brand of a USB mic preamp) and the proper USB connection between preamp and PC (same as a USB cable for some printers like HP).
  2. I was going to suggest what everybody else suggested, but since that's been done, I will say that the more-expensive Mac is actually better for music purposes.
  3. Well, it better be cool, and I hope CV isn't doing something that it shouldn't. Taste +1.
  4. I'll try! If I don't post by the due date, I'm not in.
  5. Ooh, I wanna' go! (Of course, I'll have to ask him). Idk, too many stalkers + fights over who was with who.
  6. Cool, you're unblocked! So, I'll do what I can, and if not, then I won't (I'll enter, unless I have nothing to show by the due date).
  7. This happens to be one of my faves. I'll spit the details later, but yeah, just saying so after four years.
  8. The files may or may not be in the right location. Also, try to view the waveform on the sample tab and reload (right-click). You could save your songs as .zip, helping you in case you get rid of any instruments or lose them, but they take up more space, usually 10x more than .flp files. Last, just paste the same instrument on the red one and reload it to solve the red sores, lol. Additionally, I'll tell you this: if you ever have rhythmical issues with sound effects, save them as waves instead of mp3's; you can get timing problems with mp3 samples.
  9. Yes, I have installed Asio4all, and it is recognized by FL Studio. However, I am trying to configure Cool Edit Pro 2.0 so that it'd recognize those drivers. I know that there's a way to it... I'll look up the manufacturer's site. Edit: It works beautifully on FL Studio, but CEP cannot recognize it. In that case, I'll use FL Studio.
  10. The wave does not start at the instant that I rap or sing, nor does it keep a constant pace. I can preset the program to work @ a certain rate of bpm, and it'll still mess up the recording. That could be possible, and would suck like hell, considering that the system's default OS is Vista.
  11. Years ago, I listened to every mix old-school style: downloaded them one by one, listened to them mercilessly, and put them into one of four categories (folders): tight, wack, okay, and legendary. Once they took too much space, I compressed them and burned them to CD's. I was introduced to this site by Antonio Pizza and his brother, who isn't a part of the site (I don't think). The first remix I heard was from Malcos called "Dirty Beta". I also remember frequenting this site before I used the forums, and the layout was mostly dark blue. I spent time listening to artists like DJP, McVaffe, DJ Seith, Nighteyes the Wolf, Malcos, GLL, Bronx Rican, and the two who made "Team Gato", irrefutably one of the best remixes ever.
  12. Ok, I'll check that out ASAP.
  13. I tested with Audacity and had similar results. Not as bad, but still as off as hell.
  14. Polar pattern: cardiod Frequency range: 20 to 20,000 Hz Sensitivity: 18 mV/Pa (-35 dBV) Max. SPL: 135 dB (for k=0,5 %) Equivalent noise level (CCIR 468-2): 26 dB Equivalent noise level: 16 db-A (to IEC 60268-4) Signal/noise ratio (A-weighted): 78 dB (re 1 Pa) Impedance: <=200 ohms Recommended load impedance: >=1000 ohms Supply voltage: 48 V phantom power to DIN 45596/IEC 268-15 Current consumption: <=2 mA Connector: 3-pin XLR (pin 2 hot) Net weight: 525 g / 1.2 lbs. Best for vocals, strings, recording, and radio/on air. My converter: 48V Phantom Power for condenser microphones. Fully balanced low noise analog front end. Analog gain control. At the Guitar Center, some random employee offered me a "deal": a display mic for 10% off. I bought that with the warranty that later became my personal Lord and Savior. Now, I already got my refund, so there is now no financial issue, lol. I believe that there can be power issues between USB-connected mics and PCs. This may be true, or it could be that I got a display mic for 10% off that died on me. Or both? No, I did not drop the microphone (that's a K.O. for a condenser mic!); I only used it the way that you would use any mic. I am not one who leaves his PC on forever, nor one who plays extremely loud sounds into the mic. No coffee spills, playing football with it, leaving it in the oven, placing it in the freezer or taking it swimming with me. I only used the danged thing for a month before it started giving me crappy quality. My attempt is to get a new mic (not this one) with a power supply connected to my PC. Malcos told me to get a better preamp, which is supposed to give the mic phantom power, of course. This device's frequency ranges from 20 to 20,000 Hz (not the best, but okay for the price of $62.99), so a preamp would protect it from critical damage. Also, I know that I need a new sound card, (my sad story linked here) so I need some professional recommendations.
  15. PC: Emachines (I forgot which one). RAM: 896MB or so Default sound card (which is probably the problem): Realtek Audio (details later) Programs used (testing computer's ability to synchronize): Cool Edit Pro 2.0, Audacity, Windows Recorder, lol. OS (Oooh, could that be another problem???): Windows Vista Home Edition. I am currently using Cool Edit Pro 2.0, and I know enough about it in order to configure the properties/devices/etc, so no, I didn't change its ability to stay on timing. However, I can never perfectly help the program to synchronize playback and recording properly. Specifically, the problem is this: the recording does not follow the same timing as an audio file that's on another track. My microphones work properly (tested them on various PC's), and the programs do work. I tried configuring the devices being used, and I tried to configure the settings (slack time, buffers, etc), but there was never a way to align the application's operation with my system. So, I now have a list of assumptions: My individual sound card sucks. Any Realtek Audio sound cards suck. This version of eMachines sucks. Windows Vista sucks. It could just be that there's something wrong with my sound card rather than every eMachine system/Realtek device that's close to or the same as mine, but either way, there's a problem if this PC will not record properly. If a crappy Compaq from 2002 or a Gateway from 1999 (both known for crashing) can record correctly, then why not a midgrade eMachines? I cannot conclude that it's the hardware manufacturer's fault because my friend has an older version of eMachines with less HD gigs, less RAM, and runs on XP, but the recording works flawlessly. I don't know if he's had problems eversince I've "blessed" him with Vista, but I've received no complaints from him.
  16. The music's terrific, but the instance of rejection follows up as before mentioned. Anime themes being played by fat, ugly, hentai-watching cosplay girls ruined it for me. Once again, I did like the music, but I couldn't see myself hanging out at a bar while hearing this person singing with English that sounds as if it's Japanese (engrish). It kind of like when UK rap artists try to get big in America, which has a 9/10 chance of failing. Stereotypes (the lie that there are no urban areas in England), the mainstream syndrome (not tolerating anything that's too different from the usual), and that which I call the "Centrist Mentality" (example: rock originated in the west, so it can be deemed as a "west only" style, which isn't true).
  17. HAH! Well, I'll be getting hired soon (so I can buy that Wii, lol!), and I still have you listed, along wih Arek the Absolute.
  18. Castelvania Dracula X and Chrono Trigger (RPG. does that count?)
  19. Wow, I haven't seen a pic this good in years! I do photography as well, but I'm lacking a good camera.
  20. You guys know about Ragnarok, right? My friend had asked me if I have ever seen an anime show of it, and I told him no. I looked on youtube and found nothing but fan-made stuff and game trailers, so I'll take that as a no. I have only read the manga articles a few times, and I'll tell you: it's badass. Well, I couldn't call it the best, but it's definitely one of them. Edit: honestly, I can't think of anything better, unless you're talking looks, but still, looks have only so much depth, plus CB looks good anyway. Musically? THE BEST!
