Sony lost over $3 billion on PS3 pricing
kupernikus replied to lazygecko's topic in General Discussion
After having good HD programming, I kinda don't watch the non HD channels outside of speed and G4, since I dont have them in HD. Ive skipped anything else though. -
Oddly enough, thats the first song I ever downloaded from here. It was on limewire though, saw the remix and I found this site called overclocked.remix.org and have been here ever since. Lost my old profile name, it was similar to this one but had a couple weird caps... lol.

WCT - The Writing Competition Thread [Short Story Results]
kupernikus replied to Imagist's topic in Competitions
That and we don't have that advantage. Its hard to compare centuries old anything with whats new. We don't have the forsight to see what will be well studied and known years from now. For all we know kids in classic american music 101 will be studying Lynyrd Skynyrd's Free Bird, Johnny Cash's Ring of Fire, and Birdman's Shine on. That said, one of these days I should enter my own work... -
wow... thats impressive.

I dont think sequels are always that bad. Take FF for example, lets face it the name is there to let us know its their front line RPG for the year, but at the end of the day they aren't really sequels. They don't follow the same story lines, exist in the same universe, or really carey a whole lot over from each other except for cid, chocobo's and small efeminate male heroes. Sports games, well lets face it all they do year after year is change the roster, but unless a game is letting me recreate my high school years, I wanna know the players and teams. I find it hard to understand why people find the most approachable and easy to grasp games so evil. Whats ruining games is video game snobs themselves. A lot of you (yes you there's a ton of videogame snobbery to be had on this site and I am no exception) Forget that games are meant to be fun. I understand the critic mentality but people forget that through all the hype through all the bull, its a hobby, its fun, but its a hobby. Its funny when I hear people cry and complain about a game because its not realistic enough, or not realistic looking and they they talk about how much they love (insert RPG or platformer here.)

I dig it. And I dont like rap much. Also, it audio surfs rather well as well.

Zero Punctuation (Hilarious) Game Reviews
kupernikus replied to sephfire's topic in General Discussion
Im just saying, when your paid to be an ass, your going to focus on that. That and Im trying to go back to enjoying games rather then judging every little aspect, If Im having fun and not throwing my controller at the screen, Im ok with it. He is funny though. -
Zero Punctuation (Hilarious) Game Reviews

His reviews are rarely fair, or all that true. Here's the problem, he's paid to be an ass. He's paid to rip on big names and be funny, no there are no perfect games, but the fact is, Ive never played a game and sat there and bitched the entire way through it and then wanted to rant about how awful it is. Simcity societies.... Well, its fun, I enjoy it every now and again, but it is a little simple. The funny thing is all the love he has for half life, which if portal wasn't in the orange box, the box wouldn't have been worth purchasing. As a console gamer half life2 does nothing I havent seen before. Im not saying it didnt have those ideas first, but its just not the second coming of christ in game form that everyone claims it to be. And yet yahtzee says its a lil repetitive, and then continues, where if any other game had had as stale and repetitive a sequel he would have torn it a new one. That said I do find him funny, but I don't think I'd ever watch one of his reviews to decide what to rent/buy -
Globally 3rd place on Red XIII redux in casual.... rofl. this rocks. Thank you so much for posting it. that was ten bucks well spent. ALso, I need to l2p. I suck..... Edited for a disturbing amount of hyperbole. Leaving bad grammar, incorrect punctuation, spelling, and over use of the ellipses.

Thats all on the producer of the dvd. Blu ray has tons more space for storage, so theoretically it can hold much much more special features wise.

See, I play a bunch of my games every day. And so I'd end up having to uninstall and reinstall all the time. I'd end up going through the installation process five or so times before I finished a game. And as I said, the loading times weren't all that faster on the games I did install, I just fail to see the value I guess.
-
No, its not more efficient, one of the advantages consoles have always had was that you don't have to go through the mess of installing games and managing memory. The fact is Im ok with a bunch of 1 minute waits, Id rather deal with those then a 25 minute wait, followed by a bunch of 30 second waits as well... The fact is, if all of my xbox 360 games installed, I'd have several hard drives full, and then Id be dealing with massive memory issues. From what Ive seen of the few PS3 games I have installed (up until I sold my PS3) It didnt reduce loading times too significantly.

Well, if they keep fabricating the reviews they can be forced to give refunds, much like sony had to give refunds of ticket sales from that shitty movie (yes, vague, can't remember the movie) that they made up reviews for... That said, I don't buy games without a rent first very often these days... As for them pulling money, its a smart business move, see thats the thing, this is a business intended to make money. If someone doesn't give you the support you feel you deserve, then pull your support from them, is this fair, of course! Is it nice? business is never nice.

Rock/metal bands with female lead vocalists- recommendations?
kupernikus replied to Culturekoi's topic in General Discussion
Your opinion on the matter died there. Also, not all metal is just screaming, then again After reading your post I have to wonder what you do consider music? Are you one of those kids constantly extolling the virtues of all things asian to his friends? COnstantly yammering on and on about J-pop? Do you listen to the recycled and often low talent american pop? Rap? or are you one of those people who insists that only music written by the old masters of the classical age to be music? Are you that guy who only listens to techno? Your obviously not the kid who worships avenged sevenfold and does nothing but talk about how they(or anyother similar band) are better then everything... -
See your talking about a PC game though, which is another thing to keep in mnd, on consoles you had Goldeneye as the first shooter worth paying attention to. And then.... nothing. Halo was the modernized goldeneye for consoles. Granted, people talk half life 1 and 2 up and down and I couldnt Effin stand either game. Do I think Halo is the best series out there? No, in fact, I dont even like shooters much to begin with. ALthough it bothers me a little (not saying you do this this isnt aimed at you) When people hate something just because its hyped or mainstream.

ABout the whole console thing, The XBOX360, while it may only have a small market share in japan is still ahead everywhere else. The Wii is going to pass it soon. And the PS3 well, lets use mine for example, I still don't own a single game for it and last week took it into EBgames and traded it in for 350 bucks. The fact is the PS3 doesn't have the fanbase the PS2 and psone had. so while they wouldn't sell as many copies in Japan, they'd sell alot mroe over all on either other system. That said i think they weill remake 7, just because of the fact they've been remaking everything else and once they've milked those wells dry, here comes 7. Square isn't sony loyal, it just happens the last two console generations have been sony dominated.

in all honesty kazaa was what brought me here. I had been looking for Final Fantasy music to put on a cd and I found this super bad ass arrangement of tera's theme. I looked at the source and it had the website's url, so I cam here and have been here ever since (my first account was back in the 90's but I forgot the info and made a new one)

I really dont think they're just recovering anymore specifically because of the merger. But, I think they are definately playing it a little more on the safe side.
-
Eh, that movie was the end of square. If they hadnt merged with Enix they would have gone the way of so many other overachieving companies, but Im sure they are fine now. And a lot of the things they learned from the movie are helping them now as its getting easier and easier to implement them on more powerful systems.

I would love more covers similar to my favorite. When I lived in hong kong I heard a couple Metallica songs covered by mudvayne, or some other band but only hardcore instead of heavy metal. I'd love to hear a hard version of tequilla sunrise or Hotel california though. Yes Im sick and twisted. Oh, and I'd love it if someone could tell me what that vaguely described cover is.

Personally, I still dont see a reason to own a PS3 I had one for a time, had Resistance and F1, other then that there wasn't anything too special, and while I understand its only a year old, its got ports, and a few crappy games out. My wii is in the same boat, I got Zelda, my wife has Spongebob, and we play wiisports together. In my opinion sony is just trying to hard to cater to everyone without any follow through. its a lackluster media machine, a lackluster internet browser, its online offerings are too new to judge, and so what Im really left with is a really pricey PS2 Edit: I will be rebuying a PS3 for FFXIII and MGS4. and one other I cant think of, either way thats still 6 months to a year for me. and I will be buying a used one.

Ive used two different wall chargers, so I know its not that, and I tried it with the battery removed and it still wouldn't play. SO Im not sure what to do from here. Tried it with another battery, so now i o idea have nwhat to do.
