  1. http://starmen.net/ Check out the EarthBound Seige Starmen.net has going on. Basically they want people to call Nintendo reps and talk to them about interest in Earthbound and Mother 3, and to mail postcards into Nintendo to further support the cause. These guys are seriously hardcore... but they can be really effective ways to get things done if people actually contribute. Think I might mail something in to show my support, and I'll definitely be buying Earthbound via VC: I was planning on doing it the minute it got released anyways. -Nick
  2. As the host of the previous ClanOCR database of yesteryear, I'm more than willing to help out. I had to get some stuff sorted out first but it should be A-OK for me to do now. It has PHP, mySQL, phpmyadmin, FTP access, etc. Probably more stuff than you'll ever use, but still have access to. -Nick
  3. Umm or actually the hero from Dragon Quest VIII (you name him yourself, so he really doesn't have a name) OH WHO CALLED IT But seriously, that's who it is. -Nick
  4. Well interestingly enough, talk on SRK brings lots of excitement due to the fact that there are enough people around with dead CPS-3 machines that can now legally and commercially run the hardware via emulation to bring back the arcade games. Sure people are a bit idealistic about the idea of bringing arcades back in North America, but they're not wrong in that 3S or JoJo's are fairly attractive to hardcore fighting game fans, and looks appealing to those who aren't (yay testosterone.) I'd love to see more 3S machines that I could get my ass whooped at in arcades... my town isn't very large so it's probably never going to happen unless I do it myself, but I'm toying with the idea of starting up a game cafe with my brother in law as it is. -Nick
  5. What I'm waiting on is for GGPO.net to sort itself out It's a near-lagless system of gameplay meant to run at full speed... latency is still an issue based on distance between the players, but the netcode is extremely solid I wouldn't go into CPS3 immediately, but I'm letting you guys know it's there because that's fantastic news to those of us who play competitively -Nick
  6. I hear ya. In most cases it's not even reasonable to say, especially for cartridge-based systems, although in the case of say PS1 emulation it's very much possible to use an emulator to play physical PS1 games because they're CD's. For the record, CPS-3 is a CD-based system but you might as well sell your appendages, limbs, and organs just to buy the stuff you need to play it. (Disclaimer's there to basically just to support the forum rules.) -Nick
  7. It was Capcom's famous last attempt at building an arcade system in the late 90's before they pretty much gave up. It includes very few games, but almost all of them are amazing (Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike and JoJo's Bizarre Adventure being a couple outstanding, notable games.) The reason it's famous is because it has a security system which was one of the biggest bitches in the world to break. Nearly tamper-proof, up until it finally got broken in to. What this also means is ONLINE STREET FIGHTER THREE TOURNAMENTS ON THE INTERWEBS. -Nick
  8. May I point your attention this way Also, I'm up for some practicing in Garou... now that I have summer break getting a hold of me usually isn't much of a problem. -Nick
  9. So basically last month CPS-3, one of the most finicky and hardest arcade systems (well when talking about older arcade systems, but this might still be true) to break encryptions for was decrypted last month. Days later, CPS-3 integrated into MAME. Tommorow: The appearance of Jesus? WE HAVE WITNESSED HISTORY IN THE MAKING FOLKS! This is a little bit old news (a month give me a break) but I know plenty of us out there were waiting for this to happen regardless. Discuss. (Oh and no piracy kthx.) -Nick
  10. Funny you'd bring it up cause I just started playing it again. I bought it and couldn't put it down for a few days, which is amazing for me because I usually put new games down in like a day to test it out and then go back to the games I haven't finished yet. I have to say, one of the most beautiful games I've played in a long time in many senses (artistically, musically, graphically) and is awesomely addictive. Tough too. Plus, as with all Atlus games there's an option to turn the voices to Japanese. This is probably the first game I didn't bother switching; the voice acting is fine, for once! The storybook feel and story actually make me want to go back to play it now. I'm still on the first character... apparently the most boring arc of the story, which is good, because I'm having a ball. Highly recommend this game! -Nick
  11. Giving it a listen as I type. I appreciate this, you releasing this album for free and letting us listen to it. I don't think I can help much in the constructive criticism aspect, as I'm not a muscian and can't find ways to help you improve. For what it's worth though, I'm really liking Spirit Walk and Atlantis Groove. Keep up the good work, and can't wait to hear your next project dude! -Nick
  12. want me to do it? not like I have much to lose of course I don't really have a reputation either, hah -Nick
  13. this month in particular school's been driving me in-freaking-sane... but it's almost over ...almost over... entry this month? I just got an inspiration but I'm afraid to say I may not finish by the deadline And yeah, I really hate the competitions board, it's a real pain in the ass because it gets no notice. All comps seem to be going like that now. -Nick
  14. Don't think of it as a trap, but more like the inevitability of something totally, mind-numbingly awesome entering your very soul. -Nick
  15. I take full credit for giving Atmuh the idea for PW this month. Also, will drop off the face of the earth if I don't do an entry. -Nick
  16. You're gonna smack yourself hard for not realizing this, just like I did when I realized it, but if you go to WFC settings (where you look for your connector or routers and stuff) in one of your games on your original DS, you actually have the option of transferring over all your WFC data from one DS to another, so that you don't have to get a new FC for all your games. As of now... it's too late. -Nick
  17. Some people in college dorms and stuff have to use it too, cause they can't have routers in their dorms, or so I'm told. -Nick
  18. ClanOCR exists for those exact purposes. We just need to get Arek to update the roster to include pokemon since he's the thread maker. Or at least talk to him so he knows his efforts aren't being wasted. He might like the idea. -Nick
  19. Totally. I'm usually in there nowadays except when I reboot... sometimes I just forget to get back in there. Not long until Pokeymans comes out either. -Nick
  20. Win: Necrotic won 3-0 vs kamoh Loss: Epicposter won 3-0 vs Necrotic -Nick
  21. Dude I couldn't be more in if I tried, sign me up!
  22. Golden Sun: The Lost Age is a sequel. Strongly recommend the first game if you like TLA, because TLA is pretty much a totally direct continuation of the original's story, but in the eyes of a different set of characters. -Nick
  23. Necrotic 2-0 vs. Keegan Pshh, you only lost cause you said you would. Okay, maybe not, but still. -Nick
  24. Necrotic 2-0 vs. Atmuh You've come a long way dude, I was impressed. -Nick
