  1. I lol'd. Honestly, Stariani's an obvious ass. It degrades musicians everywhere to do like this :/ I mean before the romantic period (19th century) it was ENCOURAGED do rely on standards. And something relevant: it's a VERY basic melody+chord progression, the melody is only similar. As Shariq said, if this is a valid reason for suing everyone should sue everyone and it'd be very hard to make chord-based music anymore. Honestly, it's mostly sad.. I guess he really needs that money..
  2. Jade Cocoon - not ONLY because of the soundtrack, it's still one of the prettiest and most unique PSX RPGs to date.. but the soundtrack is just.. wow.
  3. SampleTron or SampleMoog, SS overlaps a bit too much with SampleTank2 if I'm not mistaken.. especially if you have XL.
  4. Same, Microsoft was really good about it though! They are sending UPS to pick it up, take it to germany, and bring it back like new all for free. The three year warranty since production was out too but I bought it late so they were nice. Sometimes, M$ are ok.
  5. Follow the link I posted in OP to express your interest for Chiptune-formats. The developers will do it if enough people express interest! 2) no, but since you shouldn't installing new plugins that often it's not a big deal for me. Do post it on the songbird website though and they might make it work! It does connect shuffle according to the official iPod plugin
  6. I don't think so, no. I'm not sure though :/ My best advice is to ask at the forums and if not, ask them to add something similar! Because the podcast directories are Apple-property it would be kinda strange if Songbird got the right to use that from Apple
  7. Be sure to show your support for inclusion of VGM-formats! That would really make me scrap all other mediaplayers ever http://getsatisfaction.com/songbird/topics/support_for_chiptunes_and_video_game_music_formats
  8. EDIT: March 10th saw the release of version 1.1.1. It can be found at the same URL as usual, getsongbird.com. Open source cross-platform (Windows, Mac OS X, Linux) mediaplayer and browser Songbird! I've been following development since early beta stages and the songbird team is really creating a fantastic piece of software. Songbird has native support for MP3, FLAC, Vorbis formats and AAC at least, a good (and customizable) UI, support for mp3-players including iPods, watch folder feature, a built-in browser built on Mozilla-tech for light-weight (or heavy-weight in the future) browsing and a fantastic addon-system, almost identical to Firefox-plugins. It's also very Web 2.0 with intergrated last.fm support and multiple other addons coming up. Keep in mind though, still a lot of stuff to sort out and add. The main feature is "playing the web" and thus most other stuff can still improve. Here's the list of stuff they are DEFINITELY adding: http://wiki.songbirdnest.com/Roadmap and I'm pretty sure there's a lot more coming. I just imported my iTunes library and haven't started that goddamn app since then! I've started to use the browser a lot too, I'm actually posting this from Songbird right now I think it's convenient to have both these functions in an application. I know not everyone agrees but it's at least fantastic for searching for music downloads on the web or via internet-based music stores, this is what it was made for in the first place. What's even more interesting is that I recently made a post to the Songbird developers regarding possible support for VGM-formats (.spc, .psf and so on) and they seemed very accepting of the idea! I got the advice to get some people supporting the decision so everyone, feel free to go to http://getsatisfaction.com/songbird/topics/support_for_chiptunes_and_video_game_music_formats and mention that you'd think this would be awesome! This could be the first open source, cross-platform good mediaplayer with support for VGM-formats! I've sent a few e-mails to developers of the winamp plugs in Chipamp and developer of Audio Overload Richard Bannister so I'm hoping some of them will help porting their codes as songbird plug-ins. Anyway, enough of my babbling, try it out and tell me what you think! I mostly just want to raise awareness of this awesome alternative (and open source and cross-platform, did I mention that? ) mediaplayer. Go, discuss! For all of you who didn't realize I embedded links: http://getsongbird.com
  9. Downloads underway, thanks for pimping this Andy.. I needed T-Racks!
  10. Keep in mind I have and always will love you. We never even had a chance to become friends! Then, back on topic. Prophet; it IS starting to look like you're just pissed you didn't have a chance to get on the soundtrack. I don't really like the tone my fellow staff members are using but they've got a point. They probably turned to me because I've proven myself as an arranger time after time and they needed something quick that was within the scope of what I'm capable of. I could just say "I'm better than you and they needed awesome" but that would be both rude and a bit unjust... and we're not being rude and unjust here, are we? Thanks for naming me "new OCR golden boy" though Also, what's the deal with saying we should give priority to people "who wants to do this for a living"? First, did you not see the giant thread I'm pimping about my first commercial game OST? Second, it would be really unfair to Capcom, all the remixers and OCR to give priority to someone because of such a reason. When it comes to pro-work and such a big opportunity for a community it's a good idea to go for the guy best suited and capable to come up with what they need. Gotta prove OCR's got the skills! This time it was me, some other time it's you. For example that iPhone game! You got the gig, not me! Finally, Dave, Andy, people attacking Brad.. chill. Where's the love? Turn the other cheek? Don't sink to that level? Many sentences fit my thoughts
  11. Just chiming in to mention that neither me, palpable, mcvaffe, AE, prozax, djpretzel, BGC or Mazedude were on Blood on the Asphalt. All remixes from BotA didn't make it either. I agree that BotA is not the best project around, I'm not ashamed to say that either, but it's obviously good enough to catch developers attention! I might not agree that BotA is on par with "most modern game soundtracks" but the finished soundtrack most certainly is. In other news, are you saying Street Fighter doesn't appeal to a broad audience? Even if it doesn't it appeals to a whole lot of GAMERS, with or without OCR involvement. I don't think Capcom is trying to get extra marketing with the help of OCR, I think we're getting extra marketing with capcom's help. OCR isn't that big really but we're a talanted group of musicians. Even if it was cheap for Capcom that's not very strange is it? To get this opportunity is worth a lot and seeing as it worked out really well (have you looked at the feedback/reviews?) the future might hold bigger and paid projects for us. In the end and we got some great promotion too (I've gotten like four soundtrack jobs partially because I've been a part of this). I don't really get what you're complaining about :/
  12. scratch this: :::gc::: Baten Kaitos Origins
  13. QFE. This kicks ass and doesn't require you to pump strength to be able to carry it around
  14. SF2HD has priority for sure. I don't even like SF2 but I'd buy it anyway! but then, go for it. While you're at it, teach me to play Galaga Legions without killing someone!
  15. I sell all ammo that's not for my main weaps, pick up anything I can repair with (max repair skill) and live life grand since ammo doesn't weigh you can stock up on piles and get like ALL money from ALL vendors
  16. Fantastic offer! Since I have a lot of synths and samples in Reason I'm going for T-RackS Classic, the Ampeg for mangling and the rest. Gotta improve that mastering!
  17. After playing this game for hours and hours and hitting level 20 I carry around Sydney's "Ultra" Sub Machine Gun, a Chinese Assault rifle and "The Terrible Shotgun". Since I'm filthy rich I always hve a buttload of ammo so melee isn't my thing with MAX Small Guns. Next char will be evil, melee and kickass tho.
  18. From what I've heard from gamers the demo doesn't do it justice.. haven't tried it myself though! In any case, you should obviously buy it:tomatoface:
  19. worth noting - http://shootthecore.moonpod.com/Forum/viewtopic.php?t=456
  20. ROFL, I forgot how you use blablath century, for us 20th century is "1900-talet" or directly translated, 19th century. Sorry for the confusion
