"EEEEEEEEEEK! It’s a lava wave!" ... he's just not trying anymore.

I have yet to really feel the effects (with the exception of the Daily Show, colbert, and some of the late night talk shows). So right now I'm largely indifferent, however if it continues for too long then I'll start to get bugged. I certainly hope this doesn't last long though... if those writers think they deserve more cash and the corporations in charge agree with them, then good for them. If not, well... blah.

After playing Uncharted, I'm totally impressed. The game reminds me a lot of Tomb Raider and Gears of War, too!! The platforming reminded me a lot of Ico, too. It's really nice to see enemies reacting to my blind fire by flailing their arms in panic and taking cover. And the intro video was really good. The game actually has funny dialogue!! And... without saying, the graphics looks incredible!! I found myself marvelling at the guy's hair in particular. lol. And how he would get soaking wet when you put him under the waterfall and stuff. Real cool stuff. I was not expecting this game to be as fun/good as it is. I may actually have to buy it now!! lol.

I'm downloading Uncharted too. The Firmware 2.0 update is cool, not nearly as cool as I was hoping though ... i mean, everyone was expecting in-game XMB ... really, the only thing I REALLY REALLY want is custom in-game music. That feature revives life into a lot of titles that I don't play on my original Xbox; surely it would provide the same for titles on the PS3. I really like the features they added though. All the remote functionality is pretty cool... and I'm digging the new chatroom functionality and the themes. There's a few available on the PSN Store. I didn't think I would appreciate the folder options for Games and Videos, but now everything is much more organized. I don't have to scroll through a zillion games to get to what I want. I think I like this feature the best of everything they added. ....but man is it still annoying to have to turn off the PS3 to answer messages from my friends. I wish they'd do something about that. Good update though. Definitely good stuff to have.

I know Hideo Kojima said he and some of his team were really looking forward to Assassin's Creed in one of the developer blogs/podcast deals at Konami's website. Must be something special if he's interested in it. Of course, I heard that like a year ago (possibly longer). I've got my copy reserved for my PS3. The escape sequences look like a hell of a lot of fun, as does sneaking up on people and killing them. Hey, can't go wrong with the developers of Splinter Cell and Prince of Persia. It's supposed to have a real, clean and polished Hollywood style presentation in-game, which is really quite a feat to pull off. Some of those gameplay videos Ubi-Soft has shown really do make you feel like you're experiencing the storytelling right there in front of you. Hell, in that one assassination demo video they have, that guy is ranting like he would in-game as if in an ordinary cut-scene. Very cool stuff. Swordfighting looks interesting and fun since it's one-hit kills, dodging, and parry based... but honestly, I'm not expecting it to be as fun as running around the cities' rooftops and silent killing people. Hopefully I'll be pleasantly surprised. All in all, this is one game I'm really looking forward to. 6 more days...

It certainly seems to be implying that Ness won't be in the game or that Ness will be different, but then again, implications aren't necessarily implicit statements. Personally, I feel as if Ness will have a new moveset (or at least a heavily modified moveset)... that's what this update makes me think. It's talking about the differences between the two. I guess I don't know, but that's what I'm leaning with right now. Certainly hope to see Ness in there, he's been a staple of the Smash Bros franchise, but I guess I'll be cool if Lucas replaces him altogether.

so am I the only one looking forward to this game? It has some really interesting sequences and supposedly got high scores from Famitsu and everyone else... I'm totally excited for this game.

Well keep in mind that version of Snake that's appearing is the MGS2 version, not the Metal Gear Solid 1 one... PLUS the song from the Metal Gear Solid 4 soundtrack showed up too... I would imagine anything (At this point) would be fair game, although, personally, I doubt there will be any more metal gear stuff in Smash Bros (besides music ... AND possibly [yet highly unlikely] one item)
-
YESSSSSSSsssssssssssssssssssssssss!!! I'm so glad we're seeing some MGS love in the assist trophies; I had convinced myself that AT's were off limits for 3rd party characters.. well... here comes tails... o_o

cool. I liked the music much better than the video this time. Which is weird. Fox is such a pretentious bastard. Just saying.

Neato!!! <3 the Warp Powder! And ... heck, I just like them all. I can't wait to see the rest of them. Hopefully there are some really cool ones. AND another thing, since Daylight savings time ends this weekened, I guess that means we get updates an hour earlier than usual from here on out. Unless Japan time decides to be evil.

1 single block, surrounded by two spike squares. I call my creation, "you lose"! The comment: "Mwhaha" One thing I kind of want to know is how spawn points will be handled... I'd imagine brawl can determine it on it's own, just find solid ground, but it would be cool if we could tell the level where to spawn people.

I understood this. If anything, my statement was a moment of personal introspection (or realiziation) that I must remix this song, drawing my inspiration from the previous endeavors of the other musicians remixing the track here at OCR.

whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa so you get coins but you don't spend them to shop for things? What so do you only use them for continues now? Because the whole pay to continue thing is a bad idea? I mean, think about it. When I need the continues is when I'll have the least coins. When I don't need the continues because I'm kicking total ass, I have maximum coins. So what? They're only for continues now?! I wanna shop. I like the whole shopping idea. *frowny face* But you knew that didn't you Sakurai? Didn't you?! I'm playing into your little mind game aren't I? Aren't I!?!? Damn you sir. Damn you good. I wonder what coins are for then if there not for buying stuff, or trophies, or ... things... AH HA! THE OLD SMASH BROS wanted us to do a lottery. It'd be cool if you could wager coins against CPU opponents to unlock stuff. It would keep the gambling theme going... anyway... why is this bolded?

THAT'S IT. Pardon the redundacy but... MY BAD-ASS AMERICAN ASS IS SO GOING TO MAKE A KICK ASS REMIX OF THIS SONG....

Thank you sir.

Hey you're the guy that left VGMix!!! hehe. ^_~ *listens* Hmm... not too bad. You could use more synths. That same lead synth for the mid level sounds and the main lead is a bit of a hassle on the ears. Your bassline and drums sound pretty good. The piano is a breath of fresh air, but often feels an octave to high. So yeah, more different synths please, and you'll have a good mix. PLUS I worry that it's a little too long, as it doesn't really do much different throughout it's 5 and half minute duration. Good direction and shows promise. I'll keep my eye on it. -
catchy. Not entirely special, but pretty catchy and groovin' for an NES title. It does get pretty repetitious. and a giant WOW at the "remix" with the japanese singing in the beginning. It made lawl. Hehehehehe. EDIT: Oh, florestan Piano soundfont what would we do without you?

<3 Bramble Blast the music there is great. I'm glad they're taking tracks that were good from games and just shoving them in there. There needs to be more DKC love in Smash Bros... I would love to see a level at Kremland. hehe. ^_~

Okay, so I've been listening to a lot of cheesy Persian dance music lately, and I felt like doing something with a 12/8 time signature. So what better song to make a cheesy Persian dance groove to than the Gerudo Valley song from OOT? I mean, the Gerudo characters are heavily influenced by middle eastern culture so I figured it might fit kind of. So yeah, I tried to pick cheesy sounding synths and soundfonts because all of the music I've been listening to has been ridiculously.... well, cheesy sounding. This link will stream the song immediately in it's own pop up window. http://www.musicv2.com/stream.php?id=39489 Still just a work in progress, but yeah. What do you folks think?

I wonder if we can slap on unlocked stickers to the custom levels? It certainly would let us have a bit more personalized levels. Ridiculously cool update though. I can't wait to see some crazy levels and NOW we can have custom scenarios like DEFEND THE HOUSE! mwhaha. You could make a retro Donkey Kong level pretty easily too... Wow, this really opens a whole new can of worms... Nintendo has set the bar really high.

OH MAN!!!! They just increased Brawl's lifespan well past Melee's.... at least 10 years. You can just make a stage. I do wonder if the pieces that you use are enough to make unique stages though, the tool set looks interesting, but pretty limited imo. I wonder if there will be more pieces... looks to me, judging by that one pic there will be about 100 pieces you can use per level. Interesting addition. Looking forward to it, I hope you can really customize it to give it a nice theme, besides just tile patterns and such.

.minor spoilers. I whole-heartedly disagree with you. The combat in TP was was the most expanded upon that it has ever been in any Zelda series; there were far more techniques and moves that you could do in a battle, counters, and just a lot of moves in general. Especially when you compare it to earlier Zelda games. I kind of agree with you in terms of the story, not that is sucked, but that it was just same-old same-old. The first half of the game was really intriguing and interesting, but towards the latter half if it was collect 7 things to fight the last boss, like any old regular Zelda before it. I love the way the game was presented, but the game's atmosphere didn't draw me in like I was expecting it to, and maybe that's because I've been playing games like Ico, Shadow of the Colossus, and Windwaker which really did suck me into the world the developers created. Phantom Hourglass on the DS even did a good job of this, although in a smaller scale. However, the dungeon level designs were interesting to me in this go around. So anyway, yeah, combat in TP is way expanded upon the previous Zelda's. I mean, if you didn't unlock all of the combat techniques then I can maybe understand your reasoning, but anyone coming into Twilight Princess having played any other Zelda should know what to expect in terms of story and characters. I do feel as if Twilight Princess needs to be the last traditional Zelda. After 20 years of Zelda I'm just now starting to get tired of the same old formulaic story structure. and I loved WindWaker.

Areas of the world where starvation is a huge issue are often subject to a lot of other social/environmental issues. Trends tend to tie every thing with pollution because quite frankly, if you're starving what do you care that the environment is bad? Additionally, countries that this occurs in typically have little environmental protection policies. For instance some really poor areas in China have contaminated water sources, which have caused tons of deaths, and early indications show the possibility of the water causing colon cancer if consumed regularly. Additionally, this water can't be used to grow food because then the food will be contaminated. People stuck where they are can't move because they lack the money and don't want to take a risk, but are feeding the cycle. They're partially the cause, but can't break out of it. It's a very difficult situation. Sure you could have everyone growing gardens in a small plot of land, but people are having a hard enough time getting money from jobs to be able to add an additional task to eat from. They're not just being lazy. No one would willingly just let themselves starve to death. And let's say pollution is not an issue; who is to say that they even have land to plant things on? And furthermore, if they do have crops, realistically speaking, how long will a small plot of land last for a family? And what would stop other starving people in the area from stealing these crops? I agree with you in that a large sweeping change towards work has to occur, but if these people are dying from starvation in the short term, getting work for them won't be an issue. Hell, if they're teetering on the edge of death because of a lack of food, the least we can do is try to assist them. I guess what I'm trying to say is that these people have been put in a rotten situation where it's insanely difficult to break out of a cycle that their own existance seems to reinforce. It's difficult, and the only short term answer is to give them food, rice (the staple food of the world), so that, in the very least, they can live a few days longer in hopes of a potentially better tomorrow. I do wonder about the validity of this site though... EDIT: I hope I didn't come off as attacking anyone because I'm not. And... 2000 grains! I must be pretty stupid because I can't get above level 33. Of course, I am going fast and have made a few blantantly incorrect choices. haha. Good game concept though.

If Midna was playable, she'd be the cutesy form we see the entire way through Twilight Princess. Her final smash would be her transformed *ahem* taller version, probably.
