  1. This mix could really rock. Hard. It's begging to be sped up, though. Not a whole lot, just some. You say you're going to record live guitars?
  2. Jesus, how did I miss this one. Hella tight mix. I'm not usually into this kind of music but you had me hooked from begining to end. Hope you resub this.
  3. Well, the arrangement is pretty hot, though you know I'm not much of an arranger anyway. The guitars need to be EQ'd more aggressively, though. Boost them a little around the 3-4k range and maybe a low-pass filter would help with the fizzies. Other than that, a very cool mix.
  4. While I never got to know Reuben as well as I would have liked, it's obvious that he was an incredible musician and a very friendly guy. I only pray that his friends and family make it through this tough time and hope that his music continues to touch and inspire people. My deepest condolences.
  5. I wanna help! If not with my own song, I'm willing to help with guitar, bass, and drum parts.
  6. Didn't know him very well, but still quite a shock. Hoping for the best. My prayers are with him and his family.
  7. That's really odd. Doesn't make any sense... What wah pedal are you using?
  8. Just you. You managed to screw up an entire project by yourself. Way to go.
  9. Is the project almost out?! Come oooooon, gogogo!
  10. Here's an update. http://tadakichi.baka.us/Sixto_Sounds/Audio/mixdown_03.mp3 Cymbals may still be a little loud, though. Still uncertain of how to process some of the vocal sections and lead guitars. Also been listening to Dimmu Borgir a lot lately, so I got curious as to how this would sound with a little bit of synthy strings on top.
  11. NI's Akoustik Piano is good. 4 pianos in an 11.3 gig library and sounds great. And, yeah, forget about ProTools. Get something like a PreSonus Firebox which comes with Cubase LE and some other free goodies. As far as the electronic stuff goes, look into NI's stuff. They have a bunch of great synths. Maybe get their Komplete Synths package. Comes with Massive, Absynth 4, FM8, and Pro53 at a pretty good price. http://www.native-instruments.com/index.php?id=kompletesynths
  12. Just a little snippet of what I have so far. http://tadakichi.baka.us/preview01.mp3 First thing, I took CHIPP's midi file and added my own drum and bass sounds. Made minimal changes to the actual midi so things don't sound so mechanical. I cut up all of the vocals and put them in separate tracks for different flavors in different parts of the song. This is probably the hardest track I've ever tried to mix. It's a real challenge, but it's fun and the track has actually grown on me. Still have a long ways to go, though.
  13. What's a Jason Becker? You want good guitar playing? It's right here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fNoZg9kl-zE
  14. Ugh, that's one of the reasons why I hate Mexico. Why do they paint their trees!?
  15. Faaaaaast! But...that's about it. A little sloppy, sure. But who isn't a little sloppy when playing live?
