So... DDR or Beautiful Katamari?
-
I dunno... I thought the Gameboy game was pretty sweet, although I never actually got to play the NES version for more than 10 minutes at a time, and for some reason I couldn't get into it. Oh well... At any rate, I agree that this game could be unholy kinds of awesome if they just do it right, but it will piss off A LOT of people if they goofed up like turning it into a Devil May Cry clone or something. I'm totally gonna do a hard rock arrangement of the first level of the GB version now.
-
So anyone know where I might be able to find a track list for all(or at least the already unlocked) the songs in DDR Universe? I don't wanna buy a version that has a bunch of crap on it that I don't like at all.
-
So it's kind of a back and forth thing with Ace Combat 6. Is it a 360 exclusive once and for all or will it be a timed exclusive like everyone's been saying? Also, thoughts on PGR4 for any of you that might have bought it already. And for anyone grabbing Beautiful Katamari, add me. I'm totally up for some online play on this bitch.
-
I kind of agree with this. The PS2 still isn't dead, while the Xbox and the Gamecube are arguably KIA. I was actually thinking of selling my old PS2 and grab a silver slim along with a few games I've been wanting. A PS3 might be in order one day if it comes out with some great stuff later, but for now I'm still happy with the PS2.

Oh you will. In terms of production values(of which I know nothing about), it might be ubertacular, but the greatest soundtrack ever? Not by a long shot. At any rate, I finally saw the after credits ending on legendary(and thus the secret bit), and while I liked the closure, the secret bit had me and my friend going WTF. Someone PM me giving me some kind of lowdown please.
-
Well I beat the game with my 2 of my bros online on legendary today and it took near the whole day. It was quite sweet. The ending sequence was pretty damned funny with 3 warthogs going crazy. Also, I played a few online matches and I really like the interface for it alot. Makes it that much more fun to play. Man I love this game.

Interestingly enough, one of my friends had that happen to his LE copy of the game. He would begin the first mission and after awhile, it would just lock up. No RRoD or anything, just a freeze. He said he tried it again without the HDD connected to his 360 and while it still occurred, it happened much later(albeit still on the first mission). The game DID have a scratch much like that circular one that people have mentioned before which leads me to believe that it might be the disc drive, but I also think it might have been an HDD corruption. Right now I'm pretty sure that it's a problem with his 360 since we gave the game a shot on my own and had no problem with it whatsoever. Oh and yes, the Arbiter segments of Halo 2 annoyed the hell out of me. Not because the story wasn't interesting, but rather it was due to the fact that I don't really like playing as him. And honestly, I think it's just an aesthetics kind of thing. I just really didn't like killing shit as an Elite.

Women in this MMORPG must be women?

Well I admit that it WOULD probably relieve confusion, but something like that is just stupid. I don't see it lasting that long. -
Oh yeah, and the mongoose. I fucking love the mongoose. And the Brute weaponry. And the fucking flamethrower(my roommate can't get enough of that shit)! Of course there IS a certain part that might piss off a few people in the campaign, but seriously, the game is awesome enough in it's own right.

So my roommate and I were watching the Halo 3 premiere thing they had on Spike TV last night around 11 PM. It was about that time that I said "Fuck it Bobby. Let's just go to Gamestop to chill with your bud and (jokingly)maybe grab Halo 3." Of course, we weren't actually thinking we might have a chance to grab a copy, being that I didn't preorder it. So we get to Gamestop and sure enough, there's a big line-up in front of the store(why the Starbucks next door didn't stay open is beyond me... they could have made a killing). So we get in line just to say we did. Seriously, at this point we weren't expecting shit, and we were just talking with some guys in the line and had a smoke with a few. So the store opens, the line moves fast as it's pretty much just people turning in their receipt and grabbing the game, and we make it in the store after about ten minutes later. My roommate says hello to his friend and jokingly asks "So... I'm here for a Wii. You guys have any?" To which everyone in the store promptly laughed. Being that we didn't preorder, they set us aside with another guy to wait for all the guys who had the game reserved to buy theirs(there wasn't that many people behind us actually. I look towards the countertop behind the register and notice that they have a mountain of copies of the standard edition, so my hopes actually go up. Finally we get our shot and hells yeah, they have copies, but I go ahead and ask the guy if they have any limiteds left, he asks his coworker and she says he can go ahead and sell the rest, so I look at my roommate and say "fuck yeah I'm buying it!" So we both walked out proudly with a Limited Edition copy of Halo 3 attained without preorder or any other hassle on Launch morning. Just got in the car, got to the store, waited for the line, picked it up, bought it and left. Needless to say, all my friends hate me right now.

How about stickying someone while being launched out the man cannon?
-
No lie. I totally forgot about all the DS shit I'm looking to buy while making my already mammoth list of 360 games I'm buying. I think I'm in trouble.
-
So last Remnant looks kind of cool. Any details on it? From what I can tell, it looks like it has a CTB style like Final Fantasy X had, although I could be totally wrong. Also, once I get my paycheck at the end of this week, it's Halo 3, Eternal Sonata, and Oblivion: GoTY time!

What video game brought you here?
Malaki-LEGEND.sys replied to MechaFone's topic in General Discussion
I've been gaming ever since I was 3, and I really don't remember what it was that brought me here, but I do remember the blue color scheme. -
Aeris dies. And I'm gonna grab the limited edition.
-
I'm pretty sure your admin will give you the greenlight for the 360.

I can't believe I haven't chimed in on this one yet. Oh well, here goes. I think the best word I can use to describe the Final Fantasy XII soundtrack would be "epic". Indeed, such an epic game necessitates an equally if not more epic soundtrack in order to really give it that perfect touch, and Hitoshi Sakamoto has done nothing less than just that. There are many people that didn't enjoy the soundtrack, and their arguments are not without merit. After all, we're all used to Nobuo Uematsu providing scores that focus on the emotional side of things(which isn't entirely bad mind you), and it can be said that FFXII's soundtrack is a departure from that feeling that Uematsu conveyed. That being said, this soundtrack is yet another piece of awesome work by the same guy who did the scores for Final Fantasy Tactics and Vagrant Story(apparently they all take place in the same world, so why not have the same composer interpret the sound?). From the new version of the prelude and prologue(which sound great) all the way to the credits theme, Symphonic Poem "Hope" which is a beautiful 5 movement piece that has to be one of the greatest tracks in a video game I've ever heard, it's all a winner. Sakamoto usually loves the orchestra feel, particularly brass and wind sections, which you can hear throughout most of the game. a few of my favorite pieces are the Opening theme, Dalmasca Estersand, Cerobi Steppe(real purty), Eyrut Village, Golmore Jungle, Arcadia, Balfonhiem(which is pretty much just an extended version of "A Secret Practice)... You know what? I just love the whole thing. Hitoshi Sakamoto did an amazing job with quite possibly one of the better Final Fantasy games to be released. If you love a soundtrack of an epic scale, and enjoyed the FFT and Vagrant story soundtracks, then you should definitely give this OST a listening to. I can tell you right now that Sakamoto is definitely up in my top 3 VG composers list now without question.

Oh yeah? Well... Uh... Shit, that's poor.
-
You think you're poor? I can't even sprint the 12 bucks for enough marketplace points to buy the full version of Puzzle fighter.
-
Well I have to keep my nails short for other reasons, so I just use the fingertips. Of course I don't get the same sound and the balance can be off sometimes, but I manage.

Recommend Final Fantasy mixes:

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahaahahahahahahahahahhahahah!!!!!!!!!!! -
Listening to Andres Segovia right now. There's a lot of stuff transcribed to guitar from other composers. It all sounds great.
-
Well like I said, it's a family thing. I actually started when I was about 14, so I have a decent level of affluence with it, but I still have plenty of room for improvement; my sight reading is off, I haven't really heard that many different composers/styles, and I don't really have much to play other than a few things I've picked up over the years. I don't really think that classical guitar is "underground" so to speak so much as it's not really as represented as much as other classical stuff like Beethoven, Chopin, Brahms or Tchaikovsky. I still love it though. It has a sense of unbridled passion that I just don't feel from the aforementioned guys. Granted, I'm a huge Chopin fan, and a lot of classical stuff is just plain beautiful, but the feel I get from the guitar is just different. I also couldn't stand the orchestra and conservatory atmosphere when I was younger, and that might have had an influence in why I'm so late.
-
All right, gang. I've decided to really take my classical music training seriously(yeah I'm 21. Shut up), so I'm trying to find some classical guitar composers and performers to get a feel for the kind of music I want to write/play, and some sheet music would be great as well(although the name of a composer would be good enough). Being that there are so many out there and most of my family has dealt with orchestral and vocal work, I'm sadly not familiar with that many, so I need this "jump start" if you will so that I can take it from there. Thanks in advance.
