Genuine concerns regarding AI generated music
linkspast replied to 100_PERCENT ROEMER's topic in General Discussion
I cant respond to everything you've said, but basically I agree, especially about the part about the AIs basically hijacking others work without their consent. That to me is the biggest issue, and moral gray area. where is the line between inspired and infringement. In regards to OCR i think ( at least when I started listening) i think there was a %50 ratio or something like that. I think Corridor Digital had a video about this, at least in regards to AI video a bit back -
Genuine concerns regarding AI generated music
linkspast replied to 100_PERCENT ROEMER's topic in General Discussion
Honestly, To me as a consumer, I don't think I know the difference or would care even if I would . Creatives will and will likely resist the AI change as long as possible ( maybe with good reason) but to me, I click a link and I listen, and if its good then good. Theres a lot of not good Music made by a human, is it better than AI music cause it has a story behind it? Not objectively. It's like playing online games, especially 1v1 like a CCG, is a bot or a player, I honestly wouldn't know, especially if it gets good enough What is more important to me is to get the benefit of the music, even if its more deeper than just to listen and enjoy it I think AI music can still too pull on an emotion. Im probably in the minority Especially here, cause I can't make a song to save my life, But people are so stubborn, that no matter what they will always try so hard to pick the traditional music generation over the AI. In guitar building ive heard that people listen with their eyes, I think that principle is the same here. -
good luck. as a casual parton and someone not very invested in OCR but someone who has long been listening. Im fairly certain BeamSabre beat was the first song I ever listened on OCR, I think I was sent here by martin sargent or some other tech tv show.

as its on apple tv I probably wont see it. But does anyone shout "Line Piece"

I don`t know exactly what I want to say, and none of this is planed out, but I think its wild this place is still around. For one reason or another Ill check the remixes and get a wave of "the good old days" and not just from the music but this community, Which Ill admit, I was not super active, but from the time when I first came across it, I think maybe a TechTv show sent me this way? Its wild people are still mixing Aquatic ambiance, and it still puts a smile on my face. I remember the first album I watched get released was Kong In Concert, I burned it to a disc (mp3 cd players were so cool) and would listen to it in Algebra 1, perhaps its why took algebra one twice. I always wanted to be musical I would love to be able to contribute in that way. Thank you to everyone that still makes music for this community even If it gets said once or thousands of time it's very appreciated.

Whats's your all-time favorite OCR Album (if you can pick one)
linkspast replied to Deathtank's topic in General Discussion
I have not posted anything in years, let alone visited OCR. But Kong in Concert, and the Super Street Fighter II Turbo: Blood on the Asphalt really have mega nostalgia for me. The DKC2 one was also awesome as well. I cant believe its been that long since its been out. IDK where the time goes but I was in high school when it came out now, ive got three kids. -

Im pretty sure that they are probably aware of the fact that they wont be paid when they sign the contract. Its not like they do their thing then the executives say "oh sorry you aint getting paid" they know what they are getting to. Taxes - whatever.
-
Nope it was me. Ill tell you what, figuring out what to get you was kinda tricky but you said you wanted something that down the road you would see it and remember that one year you got it from the OCRSS. I was hoping this would fit the bill.
-
I feel bad that mine hasn't gotten their gift yet, But when it gets there. It will be one (or more) of a kind. BUT it is making progress.

I think he was being scarstaic.. and even if he aint.. I don't want some weird sex toy ending up at my house... which is probably what will happen now. Some quick info on me. Im a dude, 25 years old. taller and about 180 aka Large for most shirts. I like Game stuff, specifically when its subtly Incorporated in to the design. OCR swag is always cool, so are homemade goods. (one year I got some awesome cookies) Steam wish list Amazon This is just a base line of the kinda of junk I like.

No love for NCS? hes one of the first and few LPers I like, tells good storys and is amazing at NES and SNES games but is kinda awful at the newer stuff, which makes it fun. I also really like LAGtv and Husky as well -
If you could have any game made by any developer...
linkspast replied to Brandon Strader's topic in General Discussion
But at least it be a good game people could rave on about for a decade. -
So far Ive picked up Bastion- Yet to play it but people appear to enjoy it. Waves- This game is a pretty fun arcade time killer, its also really pretty. FEZ- This game is so cool, im only maybe 15 mins in and I can tell that its going to be a fun game, There have already been a few good moments where I sat, smiled and thought wow that was kidna cool, or been surprised by an reference to other games.

Ideas for a game inspired rap album
linkspast replied to The Legendary Zoltan's topic in General Discussion
A tournament rap battle would be cool, sorta like a Smash Bros of rap, that way each "contestant" could have their own style and uniqueness and you would be able to get a wide variety of games represented. Kinda like the two tracks in the "Bad Ass" album with link and gannon.
