Hey guys. I'm a bit tired of Miroslav in Reason hahah.. since I want to reserve it for the synths and mainly use Reaper, I need a good librairy and more functions (keyswitching). I wanted Vienna, for it's dry and all, but it's pricey. I'm considering Quantum Leap and from what I've heard when I saw this video, I thought the Silver version was pretty cool : I then saw his video for the choirs : I need those products. I would also need something like Storm Drums.Anyway, the main focus here is to debate the need of something above the silver version and so on. Why would gold not be enough or the opposite. Is Platinum useless even to a semi-pro level when you have Gold ? Thanks. Edit: I'm also confused. I see people talking about Gold and Gold + XP or something. I don't see such a thing on http://www.soundsonline.com/Symphonic-Orchestra and do I need a PLAY or Kontakt thing or is it standalone ? ;/

No, I mean, Kontakt is included in Komplete, which is 500$. So during black friday, it'S 250$ and you get Komplete with Kontakt included - from what I can tell from the website. -

Wait, you get Kontakt when you buy Komplete anyway, so it'll be 250$ for everything isntead of 200$ + 200$. Right ? -
I want to build you a computer

Well, my fans aren't so bad, it'S the cpu fan that's worse. This seems to be a solution : http://www.thermalright.com/html/products/cpu_cooler/true_spirit_120m.html -

I'd have grabbed that Celestia ISW lib but, you know what I need. So how am I supposed to expect for a price when on sale ? -

I use Reaper too but I've not yet purchsed Kontakt, which is often required (Full) for some of those libs. Haven't grab the free player tho, is it worht it ? I basically want an orchestral librairy and a good synth for when I don't feel like ReWiring Reason... I'm not sure if Kontakt is what I need. -

I want to build you a computer
Frederic Petitpas replied to prophetik music's topic in General Discussion
I want to upgrade my fans. Even tho my computer is 7-8 years old, is works great. My main priority is noise right now, and I know silent fans exist but don't know what to buy. My PC is basically a 6000+ AMD in an Asus M2N-E (with the pipe), 8Gb HyperX (800 MHz lol) and 9800GT (512Mb). -
Impulses, mics and phase
Frederic Petitpas replied to Mak Eightman's topic in Music Composition & Production
It's the same thing actually. My post probably led to confusion. I'm just so used to deal with it in those terms ; by angle, I was not refering to the angle of the microphones directly (it applies but not what I meant). Meant the angle of waves directly (polar coordonate of it's amplitude and time). So yes in other words, time. I wasn't refering to microphone placement because he was looking for a way to apply the effect to an entire mix, so I think he wants a dephaser plugin of some sort (I don't use any so I can't say). -

Phase is just a question of angle, so perhaps you could try something that affects that. A phaser with a fixed sweep ? -

I'm very disapointed by that soft. ;( -
Never liked the drums and the guitar in my mix for Maverick Rising. I started to revisit it for fun and with a new drum and guitar (and halve the lenght lol). It's not mixed, and that drum pattern will change but what do you thing of that sound ? Chill Penguin Link I'll edit this post as it devellops but really, just working sporadically. Here's the link to the original remix :

So there's a few leads/solos here and there but those are dummies and I'm waiting for my new guitar to record them. This is totally not mixed, DIs not edited, MIDI not edited/humanized, unworked drums. I don't have to draw you the whole picture I guess : this is a W.I.P Just want your opinions on the content/direction and all. Also, no vocals yet but will be the growl type of vocals and perhaps some female vocals in a few key places. Thank you.

I'm sorry but your tune will not get published. Even this was not : (It's on an album but not on a remix on OCR). Not trying to plug my stuff, just want to say that the big thing not to overlook is humanization IMO

Nectar Elements is free instead of 129$ if you have Addictive Drums (login to xlaudio and go in "my account"). -
I downloaded all your +150 gifs and I thought you made that software from your bare hands man. Anyway, seems like ReaControlMIDI isn't the most reliable tool from what I can tell with my researches. It's not very important anyway.
