  1. this is amazing. can't think of anything else to say. reminds me of stemage's version of brinstar sort of. f yeah
  2. single-artist OCR albums? i support this. really dig it so far, good stuff josh.
  3. thanks for the feedback guys i really appreciate it. i pretty much gave up on this particular track, but i'm working on a DKC2 remix in a similar style, so look out for that.
  4. haha nice, very neptunes even. the tracks i linked earlier were fairly underground. you might find these more mainstream examples helpful: LMFAO - Shots Jason Derulo - Whatcha Say Young Money - Every Girl http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UE6UwW3nkok
  5. good shit zircon...i'm guessing you're going for a sort of timbaland/dr. dre sound. my main criticism would be that it's too clean/intricate. in general a beat doesn't need to have "changeups" (i.e. fills every 4 bars etc.) because the music should really just be a vehicle for the emcee. don't be afraid to get really simplistic and grimy with it i guess. as far as hip hop recommendations this thread needs more wonky, i'll just throw these out there Lone - Sea Spray Dorian Concept - Fort Teen http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uOZA5xsNicE Flying Lotus - Disco Balls http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ij95YmGpOw Hudson Mohawke - ZOo00OOm http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TZIMVpLLwno
  6. yeah the rhythm does sound a little tense in parts, especially in the left hand oom-pahs or whatever you wanna call them. the roominess of the sound doesn't exactly help. i think with better recording quality this would be a great solo piece, but like djp said, would sound great as a trio. anyway i really like this, hope to see it on the site.
  7. yeah i'm really excited to hear this, but i think i'm gonna hold off until i get the CD.
  8. Off the top of my head, Ochre is pretty great. I've also been listening to Fahrenheit Fair Enough by Telefon Tel Aviv a lot lately.
  9. a lot of money to spend on a cd for me, but it just looks so cool. i put in 30.
  10. I was a bit surprised by this, I've always thought of this as a song from SMRPG. It's probably my favourite video game tune ever, and this track is pretty much everything you could hope for in a remix. excellent!
  11. http://www.arksunmusic.com/sytrus/Arksun_Sytrus_Presets_MiniBank2.fxb I think it only works with the standalone Sytrus and not the VST though. Does anybody know a way I can use these sounds?
  12. This is beautiful. I've never heard the original so I can't really comment on the arrangement, but this definitely makes me want to look into the OST. I guess I'll be the one to ask: is there sheet music available?
  13. I'm kicking off my new blog/mix series today. This particular mix is mostly electro with some progressive thrown in towards the end. 14. I'd tend to think of anything by Joshua Morse and po! as acid jazz, i.e. a sort of jazz/hip-hop/electronic blend.
  15. At this point, I'm fine with it. I did consider bringing it up when you sent out the e-mail about the new profiles, but even then I felt like it wasn't such a big deal. I guess all I'm saying is I would've liked it to have been my call. Thanks for understanding though.
  16. I agree with analoq. In my case, it's not by accident that I've never given my full name to anybody on this forum directly, yet there it is on my artist page - something which I assume was found on my (private) Facebook page. (It might also be worth mentioning that my birthday is publicly available on my forum profile, but missing from my artist page.) As for the "space alien" example, I didn't lie about my name, I just chose not to disclose it. It's not something I'm gonna pull my remixes over, but it doesn't seem right to me.
  17. ahaha this is awesome, gonna second that request for the patches
  18. Seven eight nine TEN
  19. sounds great as usual, nothing else to say except maybe you should finish a mix for once ! ! ! !!
  20. nice find. this is probably too "medleyitis" to get posted here but whatever, Ochre is awesome.
  21. this is a trivial thing but any chance of bringing sort functionality back to the artists section? would be nice to be able to sort by country, # of mixes, etc.
