  1. I'd like to do one, hopefully at a time when I'm actually awake.
  2. I have approximately five Reggie's of body readiness.
  3. The steam PC version has stupid achievements, and a dodgy cloud (lol) save server that has been down many times for me. It also had* terrible midi records of the music (*I think this is fixed now but it's easy to mod it to have the original PS1 sounds). There's no gameplay difference that I can recall.
  4. Should have some news on this very soon, but only if the McRibs are delicious.
  5. There was only one choice of aquatic lifeform worthy of my contributions.
  6. This game is just being called 'Dog Bird' at the office. It's far too adorable to survive.
  7. Hey so... I'm uploading the album right now... I've been working on my directors comments for the upcoming release, check it out: Sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry etc.
  8. You get 5 billion points for this. This was one of my favourite games growing up, and I remember posting a remix request when I joined ocr for this somewhere. Awesome stuff!
  9. - Release FF9 project. - Suck less. - Music more. In real life it's keep up the good work I've done in becoming an active person who doesn't eat bad things.
  10. Just to reiterate, it's definitely my fault this album isn't out yet, not Dave's. There hasn't been enough movement of all the really important peripheral details that are key to a successful launch, which is down to the director. Stevo and the other staff have kindly offered some assistance so we're getting a bit more action now.
  11. As someone who used to record classical music for a job, the image is bloody awful, and the fact that people are even asking you if this multi-tracked is a problem in of itself. But that's the classical production snob in me talking, we don't normally get this sort of thing anywhere near this crisply performed so this is a very easy yes. YES
  12. Too hard my friend. YES I understand a lot of the concerns but this is far far too good and original to reject for being a bit medley-ey.
  13. Trumpets aside, this is pretty much auto-fail for me on source use. I don't think anyone would be able to identify that this was anything other than an unrelated smooth jazz trumpet solo even if they knew the original intimately. Just to be clear, the OCReMix standards say that the source has to be 'identifiable and dominant' which I don't feel was the case here. It doesn't mean that this approach isn't valid or valuable. For what it's worth I thought the trumpet playing was very strong, a few intonation blips aside. NO
  14. Erg... yeah that compression is killing this. You've given us a bit of a tweak already but this is really quality in so many ways that it would be a crime not to ask you to for a little more. This is a bit of an assumption on my part but it sounds like you're possibly making use of the addictive drums compressor? It has a frigging awful signature sound, and is definitely part of the problem. If you're not using it, or not even using AD, then sorry, but I feel like I can recognise it a mile off. NO, but please resubmit.
  15. I thought this was pretty enjoyable as is. Definitely not the most inventive synth design, and my electro naivete is probably shining here but it just seems to work well on it's own level despite this. Bad tings: - Terrible remix name. - Dubstep section. - Dat guitar sample? What even is that? YES, borderline.
  16. Think I agree with the other chaps about the kick, it's crucial to this kind of music that it sits well and that there is a bit more of an audible sidechain going on to make room for it so that it doesn't have to hog so much spectrum. I also agree about the hi-hat patterns, try to make them flow a little more if you can. I'd be okay with it otherwise, but those are key to the genre. NO, but please resubmit.
  17. Echo'ing some of the above: The samples were definitely over-used when they play once a bar. There's often quite a lot of clutter in the low-mid parts where I almost felt some of the harmony parts could come up an octave (eg 1:56, 4:14). The lead synths the quietest part of the mix even if they are audible which is a bit weird (eg 3:32 and 2:35) It's a close one but I think it would be beneficial to get a resub because of how much this type of remix arrangement relies on having crisp production with a crystal clear mix. NO, please resubmit as this is very close.
  18. We dabble in game journalism punditry. http://www.polygon.com/2014/3/18/5498016/final-fantasy-10-hd-remastered-soundtrack
  19. As someone currently working on a 5 platform AAA game in the audio department, I can assure you memory allowances are still huge issues. Memory allowances are puny on consoles. Music tends to be streamed so it's less of an issue, but sfx budgets can be brutal still. But even then, you're limited on how many streams you can have. Nothing is simple when it comes to loading and storing memory.
  20. I have everything on the front page .
  21. Yeah, that happened. Now everything is done (except djp, who will do his track during the album eval probably).
